The staff didn’t know we had a reservation at 8:45 which was the only time we could get one. The buffet stopped at 9pm and when they finally figured out a place for us to sit we were told just go fill as many plates as we wanted and bring them back to the table because they wouldn’t be filling the buffet anymore. The buffet price was not listed anywhere and we were unpleasantly surprised when we got the bill. The food was barely warm and the crab legs were so over boiled they were tasteless The prime rib and crab buffet is not worth the hype, price, or effort to get there. At $129 for two people it is definitely not worth repeating or recommending. Although the staff were accommodating there was no real positive or cheerful service to guest interaction except with our waiter.
Will catch dinner or the buffet depending on if we are there for a show or not.
Beautifully decorated for holidays.
All staff were great- even though they were working on Christmas night. Professional and friendly.
The poke was hiding by the fruit?
Could use more salad bar choices -garbanzo beans, mung sprouts, broccoli, peas, pasta, purple cabbage, alfalfa sprouts, tofu.
Delicious soft serve ice cream, prime rib, horseradish, crab.
Thank you for being consistent through the years!
We came here for Christmas breakfast after church. The food was standard fare. Although we had to wait a little while for our table, the service was very good. The Christmas decorations were very nice.
Not much competition so it seems as if this establishment does not have to try very hard. Food is very over priced and only "so-so" in taste. Presentation is below average. Service was below average. There was a constant flow of families in beach attire schlepping through the restaurant right past our table as we were trying to enjoy our meal. I would never waste my money at this place again.
Ambience is very good but the location could have been even better, there is no ocean view. Also, the menu is very limited and uninspired. The ahi was good but nothing special. The thai chicken was not good, too much ginger and no other flavor. Overall, I would not recommend it for anything other than a regular dinner.
The breakfast buffet at 9:00 am was relaxing & not too busy. The omelette was great. One of the few places on Kauai that you can get lox, bagel's & all the fixings, fruits were fresh & sweet. The service was so attentive. We were celebrating the birthday of a friend that passed away, with his family. Great place for that.
I guess I was looking for American food. Forgot this is a high end establishment and they have to dress it up, to an unrecognizable point. So as far as who and what they are is the new un normal.
Wonderful. Food and wine were great, and the waiter was excellent. Will do it again.
I made a reservation for 7p. I was staying at the resort where the restaurant is located. When we arrived I was told the “management” decided that they wouldn’t open the lovely dining room on Sunday and Monday. My only choice was to eat in the bar and there were no tables in the outdoor area since it was first come first serve seating at the bar. I told them to cancel my reservation so I could make another through open table but they weren’t able to do it through their iPad or calling them. I had to have my partner use his open table app to reserve something. Just bad customer service all around. No accountability and no offers to make things right in the future.
The service was excellent. The hostess was friendly and very welcoming. The food was excellent. I will do another meeting here again in the future. Thank you.
Dined at bar next door
We loved the Hawaiian pizza we got from Naupaka, however we thought it was a little pricey. The beef bone marrow appetizer was a ridiculous waste of money. We were able to scrape off maybe half a teaspoon of the bone marrow spread and it had barely any flavor.
Not worth the money. We chose the breakfast buffet only to find all the fruits and vegetables were absolutely covered in bugs and had to be fully replaced by staff. Further, the open air nature of the restaurant allows birds to get in and they frequently land on your plate if left even briefly unattended. We were not warned of this when seated and were surprised that when we left the table, staff had removed our plates due to birds and we had to start over again filling our plates. Overall the food was average and the other problems simply make this restaurant a bigger hassle than it was worth. Go elsewhere.
The ambiance was fantastic and the service was very fast. We will come again.
What a great find! While menu somewhat limited, the fried red snapper awesome and marlin tacos great. Also, the burnt marshmallow brownie with Lappert’s ice cream was fantastic. Very quiet at 8pm but servers were great.
Definitely worth returning!
The food was amazing. I had the seafood pasta. My wife had fish tacos. Both were best we'd had anywhere. 4 thumbs up! The staff is very friendly!
The portions were surprisingly large. We were afraid that we would walk out the restaurant still hungry.
Anniversary dinner - back to where our honeymoon was. Everything was great!!!
We had a romantic dinning experience at Naupaka Terrace for these many reasons. Emily was courteous welcomed us with aloha graciously placing us at an outside tables with beautiful panoramic views of the outstanding Kauai Beach Resort. Emilio professionally served us our Hendrick's Martini and Wente Chardonnay Wine having a great wine and cocktail list to choose from. Emilio recommended to us our marvelous Butter Lettuce Salad and generously gave us a basket-full of warm fresh baked bread with butter. Joyfully we dined on our magnificent tasting Glazed Pork Shank and Catch of the Day both from the Large Bites portion of the menu. Pleasantly Catelyn filled our water glasses. We thank Chef Logan, and the many cooks with great teamwork all is made possible. Your delicious dessert put us over the top full of joy and looking forward to our next wonderful visit at Naupaka Terrace thank you.
Lovely setting and good food for the price. Service was excellent. It was one of our better meals in Lihue. Loved the Pupu platter.
Nice setting. Good food. I thought it took a little to long for our waiter's first appearance, but once he introduced himself the service was excellent after that.
The food & drinks were good. The service was excellent. Sitting out on the terrace was great. Definitely make time to try this place out.
Naupaka Terrace is at the Kauai Beach Resort in Lihue on the Garden Island of Kauai. We each had delicious local fresh catch for our dinner prepared artistically beautifully. Emilio's expert service and recommendation was fantastic. We were very happy with Austins cheerful helpfulness. Thank you Chef Troy our dinner and dessert of warm lava cake completed our wonderful dinning experience. We highly recommend Naupaka Terrace for an excellent dinning experience with aloha.
It was great! Great service and good food!
Overpriced, mediocre food, but pretty location and convenient if staying at the Kaua’i Beach Resort
Love the omelet station would like to see a brunch on Sunday’s :)
The friendly service and recommendation menu was a good choice. If you stay at Aqua Kauai Beach Resort, it will be your first dinner option.
We ordered the whole snapper - fried crisy on the outside & moist on tbe inside. The Kauai shrimp was so sweet & nice presentatuion. Just wish there was somw chili pepper water. Friendly staff & great service.
We had a wonderful dinner, all in our party got the Prime Rib and Crab Buffet. There were quite a few choices for all courses and if you leave hungry it’s your own fault. Our server, Frank, was very friendly and personable. I would definitely recommend this and we will be back next time we are on the island.
This is a beautiful setting. We went here for breakfast and dinner.
The desserts, sushi, and salads were good. Prime Rib was ok, & crab legs were disappointing (I didn't think they were king crab as advertised, more like snow crab which I don't care for).
Fantastic. We went for my wife’s birthday. We sat outside and it was very nice. Food was good for a seafood buffet. Service was great.
The atmosphere is beautiful if you sit outside on one of the little patios. Arrive early and walk around this beautiful resort. The food is fresh and delicious.
From the last time we were at Naupaka Terrace the level of service seems to be not as good as it was in the past, but the food was as good.
It was our 26th anniversary, and already have been inconvenienced by a late check-in to our room, we were hoping for a good experience at dinner. We were greeted right away by the person who filled our waster glasses, and then waited 15-20 minutes for our server. I finally went to the hostess stand to inquire about the situation and when I pointed out our table they said, almost in unison "Oh, Tom". When I got there, Tom was there, talking with my husband (who later told me Tom had been in the area the whole time, bussing tables). He took our orders and the service was fine. The food was overall delicious! We shared the beet salad which was loaded with beets and had a very pleasing dressing, kalbi ribs that were outstanding with a tangy, smokey flavor and the catch of the day that, although prepared a bit on the dry side, was served with complimentary ingredients.
Staff was great and very attentive being a groups of 7 with children.
Ambiance and service were fine. Although the food presentation was ok, the quality was less than desirable. The shrimp in the Shrimp and Grits was VERY sub-par ... mushy, tasteless!!! Very disappointed! The dessert (bread pudding) was excellent...what a contrast :)
Nice assortment of food. Wait staff very attentive. Happy with the experience
I had the fish taco. The fish was very dry. My husband had the fish dinner. His fish was dry as well.
