Nanea Restaurant and Bar
The Nanea Restaurant and Bar is located on the 1st floor of The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas clubhouse.
Good food and service
This was a lovely dinner out on our first night here. The food was pricey but that is expected for Hawaii. At least here, you definitely get you money’s worth as the portion size is large and every bite tasty!
The fixed price Valentines menu was a bargain even with the wine flight with good choices.
Excellent food and service. Everything was delicious and interesting. Highly recommended!
Very good food and service. Prices were reasonable. Restaurant has no view. We are still exploring the north end of Kauai. I would definitely try again in the future.
We love Nanea! The five course tasting menu is a nice combination and great value. The fresh Monchong is terrific. The short ribs are fantastic. Had the Loco Moco for lunch with short ribs- so good! We’ve eaten there several times this visit, and it’s great every time. Service is great, nice outdoor seating. Can’t wait to go back!
We ate at Nanea three nights during our 12 night stay in Princeville. Food is exceptional.
Great evening on the patio. All of our waiters suggestions were delicious. Local Green salad was so fresh, seafood bruschetta was a meal of itself and the mahi mahi was delicious.
Wonderful restaurant on Kauais northshore. Love the food and the service. David took fantastic care of our family of 8. Highly recommended.
Amazing dinner! I highly recommend going on Monday to get the 3-course Hawaiian menu. It was wonderful.
Great meal, terrific service and outstanding ambience!
Highly recommend the tasting journey. Everything was great. Good sized portions we eat there every time we are here.
The menu could have been more varied. The waiter did everything right but seemed officious. The food was good. Mosquitoes under the table were a nuisance. The setting is pleasant.
WE both had the Ahi tuna which was locally caught and very good. It was finished perfectly and a large portion.
Our server was very personable and pleasant
The chocolate Soufflé was a little different - more of a cross between soufflé and warm chocolate cake but still tasty
I am a bit conflicted only giving 3 stars, as I have had 5 star experiences at Nanea in the past. The problem we encountered was the simple fact that it was Christmas night. We reserved 6 weeks in advance, confirmed our reservation and ended up waiting nearly an hour for a waiter to take our order. Don’t know if it was understaffed or overbooked; but, our reservation was for 6:30 and it took nearly 3 hours total before we finished the meal. Thankfully, the food was excellent. Our waiter was working very hard, so I don’t blame him. Bottom line-never again on a holiday.
David---Our Server just Fab :) & Hostess of the evening Really set the tone--Great!!!
Service was slow on Thanksgiving. We saw other tables seated after us that were done almost 45 minutes earlier than we were. Food was slow coming out of the kitchen for our section, it seemed. Food was otherwise good and appreciated the various traditional and non-traditional Thanksgiving options.
This is a convenient resort restaurant. The service was excellent and the food very good. It was just a bit expensive in our opinion. Outdoor seating was nice and the evening service did not have issues with the pesky birds on the dinner tables that the breakfast service has.
It was our last evening on this island so we wanted to go out somewhere special but close to our complex with great food and nice ambience and excellent service and Nanea fit the bill! The food was excellent, the drinks were perfect and service from our waiter was exceptional. We will definitely come back!
Always excellent food & service. Lovely outdoor dining.
I took my husband to Nanea for his 50th birthday. Amazing atmosphere, the service was stellar and the food was AMAZING. Will definitely return!
While we have dined here numerous times in the past, this experience will be our last. Things started out well but when one of the dishes ordered was incomplete, ahi tuna nd prawns without any prawns, it went downhill quickly. We never saw our waiter after the initial order and the back waiter trying to rectify the mistake went awol. Service was unacceptable.
I’m gluten free, meal was pretty sparse for a high $!
Nice hotel/pool view at Sunset watching the tiki torches being lit and a small waterfall. There is also a koi pond near too. The 5-course menu was excellent with the Ono Fish and Beef Filet. We always enjoy coming here every year while on vacation. The service was fast too. This year we went twice.
LOVED everything about this wonderful gem
I chose to go all out for a late birthday feast - by myself- and had the tasting menu with the tasting wines ... everything was superb. Each item on the tasting menu was well chosen and cooked perfectly.
The wines were nice complements.
Lovely waitress Cate made sure I was well cared for.
It was a night of live music...authentic Hawaiian singer Randy and his wife Primrose the hula dancer made the fun. Randy and Primrose Naukana Rego- a true gem ...Many newlyweds were enjoying the night and so did I.
Always great service and accommodating! Buffet spread is amazing. A must have is the kalua pork Benedict. Waffles are amazing with there chocolate sauce!
I ordered prime rib since it was Prime Rib Night. Over half of the meat was fat and gristle. When I told the waitress her answer was “prime rib is a hit or miss”. We paid and went to get our car that we had left with the valet. They couldn’t find the keys but I saw the car at the end of the driveway. Keys in it and air conditioning turned down to 62. They couldn’t explain it. The next morning I found 2 messages on my phone. The first telling me we had left without paying and then another 20 minutes later saying “never mind they found the payment”.
A night of craziness to celebrate our anniversary!
We’ll make a different choice for our next dinner and won’t be returning to Nanea.
Nanea has improved a lot since we were last there 3 years ago. The food is excellent and the service is great and it is obviously very convenient for everyone staying at the Westin Princeville Villas. The outside seating allows you to enjoy the beautiful Princeville evenings.
The food was good. Nothing amazing. Pricey. The birds are obnoxious. So annoyed the don’t give you any open table points.
Caesar salad, rib eye steak, and sides were very good. My wife's filet was a bit overcooked and was not hot. Our server David was very nice and informative, but not very attentive. It appeared he had too many tables to wait on. We'll try this place again if we are back in Princeville.
As always, our server, David, was excellent. We are always happy with our experience at Na Nea.
Overpriced and not worth it! Five of us came here for lunch on a Sunday and had 12:15 pm reservation. We arrived at 12:20 and had to wait for over 5 minutes before we were seated even though the restaurant was 90% empty. After we were seated, we were told they only have buffet on Sundays for $39 per person. We decided to stay anyway. 10 minutes after we sat down and right after we got our first plate of foods from buffet tables, the staff started to taking down the buffet station. Not once did anyone tell us they were going to take down the food in 10 minutes. Had we known, we would have gone somewhere else. So we rushed to try to get some more foods before they were completely taken away. Foods were mediocre at best. None of us were able to enjoy the lunch as we had hope to. Restuarant does not have lany good view. Definitely will not come back or recommend this place.
Our engagement dinner. We ordered an App and never received it. Food was just ok. Would not go back
Best dinner on my four night stay. You really should share and get appetizer, entree, and desert. Everything was fabulous and the staff and service was great!
Nothing more than average food
I noted that we were having a birthday dinner here and no one acknowledged that. I even mentioned it in front of our waiter…Our waiter had the personality of a doorknob. Even tried to engage him. No sense of humor. You would think being a Westin property that the service would have been excellent. It was quite the opposite. Don’t plan on eating here again.
We had small plates for dinner. I had the mushroom risotto which was amazing.
Located within the Westin, Nanea is a quality restaurant you definitely should try for breakfast or dinner!
Breakfast, they offer a buffet with omelet station, or you can choose from their menu. I love their loco moco, served with beef short rib instead of a burger
Dinner is incredible. With a nice selection, they also offer a selection where can can choose two smaller portions of most of their entrees for a great price, as well as a pri fixe menu and optional wine pairing.
This visit, I selected the coffee rubbed filet mignon and fresh fish which was ono. The combo was nicely proportions and the flavor heavenly.
They offer covered outside seating, which is nice.
Cocktails are great - their mai tai was as good as it gets.
