Café Sabarsky is a fine-dining restaurant located in Manhattan and inside the Neue Galerie, a museum of early 20th century German and Austrian Art. Café Sabarsky has an interior decorated with artifacts from the period, making it every bit an exhibit in the museum in addition to a restaurant. As one might expect from a restaurant inside a museum celebrating German and Austrian culture, Café Sabarsky serves gorgeous versions of classic cuisine from the region. Diners will find several different renditions of bratwurst, sausage, schnitzel and goulash to try. In addition to the classic sausage-centric dishes, there are also delicious seafood options available, like the chilled smoked trout crêpes with horseradish and créme fraîche.

In Manhattan’s Upper East Side, Barking Dog serves classic American fare with a hearty dose of comfort in its bright and relaxing eatery. For starters, the pan-seared crab cake with basil scallion dip and the grilled portabello mushroom salad with garlic herb croutons are phenomenal choices. Barking Dog’s most popular entrées include the “mom’s loving” meatloaf with mushroom tarragon gravy, the Colorado shepherd’s pie with beef in red wine sauce and the oven-roasted turkey with sweet potato sage hash, reminiscent of Thanksgiving’s best flavors. Piled-high sandwiches, such as the grilled veggie sandwich with provolone and sundried tomato pesto, the Cajun shrimp po’boy and the roast beef with horseradish mayo are some of the diners’ favorites. Barking Dog also has a popular weekend brunch service, with such delightful dishes as the country sausage omelet and the challah French toast, making it the place to be.
