Discover South Portland
A prominent port for fishing and other boats, South Portland is full of coastal tradition which shows in its dining scene. Order a whole, boiled lobster at a local seafood shack. If you're adventurous, don't stop with the claws or tail but taste some of the roe or grayish-green tomalley, which some lobster lovers consider a delicacy. South Portland also has plenty to offer to those looking for something other than fresh seafood. Enjoy a rack of ribs at a barbecue joint, chicken tikka masala at an Indian restaurant, or carne asada tacos at a Mexican spot. Or head into one of the local brewpubs for a burger and fries paired with a locally brewed craft beer.
