- LLynnisseNashville •5 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoAnother great meal at what's become our favorite restaurant. We'd be lucky to find a place like Americano's anywhere, but here in Roan Mountain, it's especially nice. The chef really has a way with seafood, which is amazing to find in such quality this far from any coast. We've had the sea bass, a special, two different ways now, and both were as good as I have had anywhere. (And I am very picky.) Sauces that make you go, "what's in that that makes it so delicious? I've never tasted anything quite like it." The smoked trout appetizer tonight was yummy, served with a giant, soft pretzel with crunchy salt flakes made fresh by the chef. Our other entree was grilled tuna over horseradish mashed potatoes with some kind of lovely spicy and just slightly sweet glaze. (A special on tonight's appetizer list that was big enough for an entree.) Such a great combo. Almost as good as the grilled scallops with street corn I had a couple of weeks ago. And then there're the steaks and Thursday night prime rib. I had "Jim's Filet" a couple of nights ago (it's been that kind of week), perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked (medium rare, red all the way to the charcoal-grilled edges—how do they do that?). The staff are professional and just the right kind of attentive, and there's a very nice wine list and great crafted cocktails now added in the last couple of weeks. They are constantly trying to improve, which is fun to experience with them. Keep up the good work!More infoAmericano Steak House & Wine Bar$$$$• Steak• Banner Elk•4.8

- CWCraigWEast Tennessee •1 review5.0Dined on Oct 10, 2022We came to the Rio de Brazil for my 50th birthday. We had a great meal. The side bar was well stocked. Our favorite meats were the flank steak, ribeye and beef rib. The servers were attentive. We went on a Wednesday evening, and there were not a lot of other diners. I have seen other reviews where others have nit picked on meat doneness and price. They probably have not been to a Brazilian Steakhouse before, and did not know what to expect. If you want a certain type of meat, or it done more or less done, or more or less rare, just ask the server. They were happy to accommodate our requests. I am glad this restraunt is in Johnson City. It is a great place for special occasions. We will be back.More infoRio de Brazil$$$$• Brazilian• Johnson City•4.5
