Musso & Frank Grill Ratings and Reviews
Excellent service, food and ambiance with a classic “Old Hollywood” feel. We went there to celebrate a birthday and were all very happy with our food (steaks and scallops) and the martinis were very good too. Highly recommend the potatoe au gratin! One of my favorite restaurants.
Had dinner after a Hamilton show at the Pantages Theatre down the street. We celebrated my youngest daughter's birthday and received the absolute best service and attention throughout our dining experience. My daughters had prime rib and I had a 12oz filet mignon off the grill, while my girlfriend had the Linguini and clams. Each meal was exquisitely prepared to perfection. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you!
Musso & Frank is amazing; what a restaurant should be. The service is impeccable and the food is spot on. There is no pretension despite it's amazing pedigree. They are approaching 100 years of operation and they operate as of they want to be around for at least another 100 years! I love this place...
Well, we've been there a dozen times. Love the history and ambiance. I was very disappointed with the $35 corkage fee. The second bottle we only did one glass and took it with us since we were on our way to the Pantages.
It was my birthday and I had just received my sommelier certification, so we were celebrating both. I thought they could have comped us the corkage. They even spilled some of the Chardonnay when it was opened. Felt it was excessive to charge $70 to open a couple of bottles of wine.
I've been coming to this restaurant since the 70's. Is it me or is the service and food better than ever? Definitely the service! The dining room booths are comfy and familiar. Many fun memories were made here. It remains one of the true classic Hollywood restaurants. And did I mention the martinis? The best.
It was our first time dining here and the atmosphere..food...and experience of Hollywood did not let us down....Not a weekly visit for us since the prices were a little high but definitely a place for special occasions..The food was very tasty and of high quality..Will be going back again.
Ninety eight years old...heading to 100, Musso’s is Hollywood’s most Historical Landmark still honoring its original tradition and great, consistent food and service. Long a “show-Biz” favorite it has a history that draws locals and newcomers from around the world. Then folks like me who literally have grown up here.
While other restaurants have tried to copy the look, the menu, the feel, they cannot copy the soul. Musso’s is an entity unto itself. Juan & Sergio, for example, each with over 45 years of service, have waiting lists for their tables. Everyone there from Peter at the controls in front to Ramiro the busboy is top notch with only your experience being special on their mind! This is not fancy food. This is real food. This is not a fly-by-night Hot Spot. This is The Real Deal.
We have been here many times, we always know we are going to be well taken care of and well fed. All the staff, bussers, hosts, servers, bartenders, cooks are all top notch and so friendly. They really make you feel like they are happy that you are there. I would highly recommend eating here if you love steak and great service. The food is comforting, old school, and done to perfection.
The food was just mediocre and definitely nowhere near the reviews it received. Food looked and was served like diner food. Steak was recommended and served in a salad plate over cooked with no flavor. Potatoes augratin were not as good as what I make at home. Atmosphere is ok but the entire place need to be deep cleaned and updated. Sorry won’t recommend or return, very disappointed.
After finding this restaurant on many suggested lists, we decided to try it while vacationing in LA. It'a a fantastic place, with amazing food and great service. It's a few steps up from just casual Italian and was nice to have a good dinner out without having to get super dressed up for the occasion. Highly recommend!!
Always really good. We have been coming here for over 30 years. Used to be my neighborhood go to spot. I think what they do best is anything on the grill. The steaks there are better than most steak houses in town and always cooked exactly the way it is ordered. Highly recommend.
Had the Filet Mignon, it was good enough for a wedding dinner steak if this was a wedding event. Mushrooms were just okay, asparagus undercooked. Famous for there Martini so we all got one, none of us drank them... Overall dinner for 6 ppl all were disappointed.
Having not been here in more than 25 years, it was on my bucket list of places to visit one more time in my life. We were in town to see Hamilton and staying at the Hollywood Roosevelt and had a plan to do everything on foot, so Musso and Frank seemed obvious for dinner. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was professional and did all that was required in a perfunctory manner (I think that M&F is famous for that, right?!) but didn't really make us feel welcome or valued. My husband ordered that night's special--braised lamb shank--and I went for the sweetbreads--not many places where you find that old favorite of mine on a menu. We also ordered the entree-size caesar salad to share, which was disappointing--not any better than what you get anywhere, which is pretty mediocre. I was expecting something more authentic in presentation and flavor. The lamb shank was super generous, and my giant serving of sweetbreads was nicely prepared and tasty. BUT ... both entrees were sadly lacking in presentation; looked like what you'd expect from a diner. Can't complain about my martini, though--plenty of it and perfectly made. Would we go here again? Probably not, but I don't regret giving it one last whirl.
Great historic local eatery with an old world feel. Walk through their doors and you've been transferred back in time... from the rustic wooden booths, waiters in their short red jackets, and the coat racks that run the length of the restaurant. If you're looking for great comfort food, no need to look any further. My favorite is the chicken pot pie which is usually served on Thursday. Musso and Frank's is definitely a must try if you're in the Hollywood area.
