Always a fantastic experience at Musso, Old Hollywood lives in the service, the food, the incredible cocktails & the beautiful restaurant itself , Such a pleasure
If you want classic Hollywood charm, this is the place to go. The steak was amazing and I loved how they served my cosmopolitan. Overall great experience!!
Top notch at every level. There is no substitute for this kind of old school professionalism. Yet it feels completely up to date. My first time back after several years. I'll be back again very soon to try more of their time-tested classic recipes. The substantial menu offers something for everyone!
Potatoes Au gratin didn't seem so fresh, and the peach cobbler crust was too thick.
Also, my $25 glass of wine was too warm.
On hot days, the heat of the grill in the dining room requires more air conditioning.
Waiters are wonderful!
The reason I gave them three stars was because I made my reservations on open table and we were standing outside before they even opened, so the main dining room near the bar area was empty. The hostess put us in booth 21 which was on the other side of the grill. The room was extremely hot. The stone faced restaurant manager kept walking up and down the aisles, never saying hello or asking us if everything was ok. I have been to many restaurants where the managers stop by our table and ask how our food was, is this the first time we’ve been there, was everything ok. He needs to be a bit more hospitable or at least smile once in a while, that is the reason I gave them 3 stars. On the positive side, our waiter Jonathan was excellent, he kept checking back with us to see if we needed anything. Our Filet Mignon was cooked perfect along with everything else we ordered. If we do go back, hopefully we can sit in the air conditioned room near the bar!
In Los Angeles this is a Must Go ! It has all the elements to make a first class evening. The food and service was truly a special experience .
First of all, props to the new manager there Andrea! He is amazing, generous, pays attention to all the little details! All of his staff is so amazing they are so welcoming and make you feel so appreciated to be there! We had an amazing time, the food was amazing, our waiter was fabulous, and Andrea is spectacular! HisCustomer service is on paralleled! We will be back soon!
Food was excellent, service was better than average. The only flaw is that it was very warm in the restaurant, when this was told to the server he seemed to take care of it because it got cooler, then shortly thereafter it just continued to get warmer and warmer and by the time we left it was actually more comfortable and cooler outside as we waited for our car
This place was amazing from the minute we walked in until the minute we left. It was a trip visiting family, wanted to go place 'iconic' and boy did we get it. The Original Alfredo is not to be missed and the ceasar salad, oh heaven. Definitely will visit again!
Sat in back area of restaurant in a booth in classic old Hollywood restaurant. Steaks were big and succulent and service was attentive. It was packed on Saturday for our 4:30pm reservation. Been here about a dozen times before, food quality and service consistency always 4 star. Arthur and myself 7.14.18.
Musso and Frank was opened in 1919.
I’ve been going there for 40 years.
I love the place!
Stephen our waiter provided one of the best nights of service we have ever experienced. His professionalism, ever evident, was accented with intriguing aural renderings of the establishment’s remarkable history. He was fantastically informative both of that and the dishes on the menu. The food was also very good. All four of us came away highly satisfied. Somewhat pricey but for those looking to have a solid old school Hollywood experience it seems to me, this is hard to beat.
We so enjoyed our time at Musso and Franks.. Right in the heart of Hollywood. The walk of fame and all the historical places. The oldest restaurant in Hollywood. Our waiter showed us where Marlyn Monroe sat, Frank, and the Rolling Stones. We were at Alfred Hitchcocks table :) The food, service and ambiance was exactly what we had hoped for in choosing this historical landmark restaurant. I plan to go again..
No better place in town for an excellent dining experience.
WE ALWAYS TRY TO SIT WITH ANGEL IN BACK IN THE MAIN BAR ROOM. WE GO PRE-THEATER FOR PANTAGES, ONCE EVERY 6 WEEKS OR SO. HE ALWAYS REMEMBERS WHAT WE LIKE TO DRINK AND WHAT WE GENERALLY ORDER. A TRUE PROFESSIONAL. THE FOOD IS ALWAYS EXCELLENT. HAVEN'T HAD A BAD MEAL IN OVER TWENTY YEARS.
Our first time at Musso and Frank Grill. We went to celebrate our anniversary and before a performance at the Pantages Theater. This is a classic restaurant with an old school vibe. Both the food and the service were impeccable. Everything was delicious and portions are very generous. Bring your appetite!
We had indicated on our Open Table reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary and we were welcomed with an Anniversary Card at our table and treated to a delicious and decadent chocolate brownie/vanilla ice cream dessert after dinner. My husband had the Thursday special Chicken Pot Pie which he said was excellent. We shared the House salad which had a wonderful Sherry Vinaigrette dressing. I had the rib-eye which was perfectly prepared to medium-rare and the baked potato which was enough for 2.
We really enjoyed everything! This is a must visit restaurant with amazing history.
I always love it there! It was a pitty the a/c wasn’t working but the food and service made up for it. No wonder it’s been there almost 100 years!
We had martinis, filet mignon, fettuccine alfredo, iceberg wedges and it could not have been better. Perfection! M&F’s made our weeknight date very special. We’ll make it a regular thing from now on.
Such a historical place with exceptional service and food. It’s like a step back in time, as the restaurant has been beautifully preserved since it first opened in 1919. The lobster thermidore was very tasty, but a little too pricey. However, they know how to make this classic dish and it was excellent. Escargot is insanely good, and oysters on the half shell are fresh and distinctive to a particular region (which changes).
Such a fun place to eat, especially before the theater, and it’s such a classic old school steak house that will not disappoint.
The server was really cool. He spoke french with us
Such history 💝 everyone is so nice and the food was amazing! Xoxo
Great Food, Great Service and the best martini!! Food was seasoned to perfection!
I have wanted to go to Musso and Frank's since I first saw the TCM commercial showcasing the waiter who had been working there for over 20 years! Everything was just wonderful and exactly how I imagined it! My mom and I would like to thank Musso and Frank's for living up to the legend and thanks to Beni for being a great waiter!
Had a wonderful time. Very old Hollywood. The service was fantastic as was the food.
The waitstaff was very good. Attentive, friendly and unobtrusive. I ordered liver and onions...a mistake. A gross pile of liver...a poorly thought out presentation. Taste ok, once I got past the visual.
It was terribly hot. So very uncomfortable. We got in and out as fast as possible.
We came for and early dinner after seeing a musical & it was my friends birthday. She loved the service the decor and she has said she will be back with her husband. Our waiter was very friendly, offered to take our picture and let us take pictures of him as well. We stayed talking for longer than we should have, that was obvious by the waiter coming by twice asking us if he could refresh our water even though it was full!
Other than that we had a lovely experience.
Thank you M&F for making our evening memorable.
Liz & Anthony were so touched by the special card!
Always a dining pleasure. 40+ years and it's the same great food and Hollywood experience for us
Maybe it was just the fact, it was in the 100's that day, and I had hot soup to start, I couldn't seem to enjoy anything. The lobster bisque, I ordered was very good, but then I had a cold turkey sandwich, which was probably the worst turkey sandwich I ever had. There was a lot of turkey on the sandwich, but that was it, and coupled with [plain, old] white bread, well you get the picture. Of course that's what I get for ordering a turkey sandwich at a steak restaurant. I won't do that again.
Still, I just didn't like the ambiance. This is an old style steak restaurant, and 4 of us were a little cramped in the booth, adding to my discomfort on a very hot day. Friends ordered a steak, which they said was very good (I didn't taste), but the 3 sides were less than memorable.
Like I said, maybe I was just having a bad day, but I just wasn't impressed, and maybe I'll give another try, someday. Stranger things have happened
Everything was perfect except the temperature. Very uncomfortably hot.
A meal right before an evening at the Hollywood Bowl. Dinner was perfect. Delicious food great service.
“The only way to fly”
You are served by real waiters! They don’t seem distracted by memorization, the need to study for their audition. They are all business like, professionals who know what they are doing.
Some are gruff, some kind and sometimes there might be someone like Juan. My father was the first to notice what a lovely person he is. We’d all talk about things, ordinary things but come away more balance, more relaxed if Musso’s feels like home then Juan is like the smartest guy in the room. A Calm, dignified man who has seen a world of people like Juan, interested and interesting. Who keep me coming back! This is Raymond chandler’LA. Heaven for me!
Old time Hollywood at its best. If walls could talk! The food was very good & the service impeccable.
Service was great and food delicious. Great old style LA establishment.
A most memorable experience! Service, ambiance, food all exquisite! Best Pork Chop I have ever had (I'm 63 yrs old and have traveled the world). On my list of, 'must-go-back-there"!
Service was phenomenal. You step into a different world from the seedy Hollywood scene. Ordered Italian dishes and seafood which were tasty, finger licking good. Next time will make room for dessert.
You can’t pass through Hollywood or live in or around there and not eat at Musso and Frank
99 years in business!!!!
That says it all
Reservation manager Laura is the best!!!
Shout out as always to Jose and Peter
Second night in a row that we’ve eaten there
My son, who grew up here, but doesn't live here, has always wanted to go to Musso's, and this was my chance to take him and my daughter. It was not his favorite food, but since it was more about the experience, he was totally satisfied.
We had a great time at M & F. It was very old time LA and the wait staff was incredible. We celebrated a belated Father's Day and had the Charlie Chaplin table!
Great cocktails and steak.
