We three went there and wait for about 10-15mins for the order fortunately it is the first time fort dad and me to LA so we don’t mind and enjoy the food with my great student !
One of the originals from 1919. All the greats from Gable to Hemingway and others hung out here! Great ambiance from that era. Well preserved and worth the trip. Bar was fabulous with great Martinis. I had a filet, very good and my wife had the special of the night, Chicken Pot Pie! It was also very good. Will return here again when we’re back in LA.
Everything always good. I love liver and onions. Sand dabs terrific as are steaks and lamb chops. Lovely chopped salad. Pineapple sorbet a good ending.
We love going to this old restaurant. The quality is always the same. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is fresh and delicious every time we come. One of our family favorites.
Everything was just right...
Food was excellent, service was below average. It took a long time for our waiter to get to us. He was not personable, I didn’t feel he cared we were there.
Musso and Frank is a life-long beloved restaurant. It never changes, which is a very good thing.
We were six people, some locals and some out-of-towners. What a great restaurant to get together in. It exuded old-fashioned warmth that lent itself to good conversation. (In fact, we didn't see other diners constantly looking at their cell phones.) Service was friendly, helpful and efficient. In other words, professional. The menu was more extensive that the typical steakhouse and so more than satisfied all the guests - even the vegetarian. Absolutely everyone was delighted with their meal. All were delicious - from the varied starters that were ordered, the main course steaks and fish (and even the pasta that one person preferred), the wide variety of sides (that were shared) and the desserts. The filet mignons were cooked perfectly (with a lovely light char on the outside) and the vegetable sides were exceptional. Musso & Frank Grill is an oasis in Hollywood. Really looking forward to another visit.
An LA landmark. Classic old-school feel. Excellent service. Delicious food at reasonable prices (as compared to other high-end steakhouses). I can't wait to return!
Musso's is just one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Always delicious, great service, and still has that old Hollywood vibe. Ah the history! You can never go wrong taking out of town guest, but I've lived here all my life and I cannot go a month without my Musso's fix!
Ate with a group of 5. They were able to seat us within a few minutes of our reservation time. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered helpful suggestions. The food was delicious, and sides were generous. They also gave 2 brownie sundaes to my friends who were celebrating birthdays. Definitely a classy gem in the midst of busy Hollywood Ave.
We were really set back with the $35 corkage fee. We have been there many times
Great! Classic that is in style! Must go. Neighborhood is urban and a bit seedy...ignore that
A great place with terrific ambiance. The prime rib was one of the best I've had, with a very thick cut. The only drawback is that they are uncomfortable with substitutions, like trying to request something else instead of the baked potato. If you are trying to eat healthy or trying to avoid carbs then it will be somewhat difficult for you. In the 1920's this is how food was. In 2018, the world and dietary changes are a little different. However we both loved the place and would love to come back.
Great ambience in this classic restaurant and the staff made us feel really welcome and at ease.
Disappointing, felt rushed, very expensive . Booked as part of our holiday to California
Came for a pre-theatre dinner. Service was quick, staff were super efficient, friendly, and professional. The meal was delicious.. my niece said it was the best steak she’s ever had. This will likely be my new pre-theatre dining spot. Many thanks to the fine staff at Musso and Frank Grill for a lovely evening.
My husband and I were only in LA for one night and Musso & Franks was or dinner choice - it’s history and dining experience combined make it a great restaurant. The food was fantastic and the martini’s really are the best! Well worth a visit and would visit again.
Nice experience and would definitely go back. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
Always a wonderful experience. Excellent waiter, host, and food was exquisite! Our favorite spot.
Old style Hollywood that has definitely NOT lost the Style! A classic steak and martini joint that delivers in service, ambience, food and class. Dine with friends or cozy up with a gimlet and a Chandler classic. Thank god some things never change.
Had an enjoyable lunch with a friend. Service was excellent and the quantity of food exceeded my appetite! Sautéed mushrooms and French Onion soup was a highlight! It was great for a conversation with my date.
This is simply the best restaurant in Los Angeles and has been for 100 years!
I’ve been going to Musso Frank’s since I was a girl~ my friends and I have dined here multiple times! Everything is fantastic. Prepared impeccably!
First time here & I just loved it!! Old school place with so much history / great meal & great service makes for a very enjoyable & memorable evening!! Certainly look forward to my return visit!!
it was our 2 yr anniversary and the restaurant gave us glasses of prosecco on the house to toast on this occasion.
If you order correctly, you’ll have a great evening here. The service is practically perfect. Attentive, personal, yet totally professional.
Order a martini, a Caesar salad, and the sand dabs. Perfect.
Historic place that lives up to the hype. Great food, great drinks, great service, and an atmosphere that is out of this world. Expensive but worth it, dining here is an experience, it is like going back in time.
We introduced friends to Musso & Frank and were thrilled with their reaction. They loved their steaks, we loved our pasta and fish. Only thing we all would change is to share the salads and sides as they are ample. The wait staff and bartenders were total professionals and engaging.
Great Hollywood classic! Excellent food and drink
The meal was delicious!
The history of this restaurant makes it a must see but the food and service really make it a memorable experience. Everything was exceptional!
We were in LA for a few days for our daughter's birthday. We stayed at the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and it was a short walk to Musso & Franks Grill. This is a historic property, started in 1919, and still going strong. I would say it's a comfort spot for celebrities and also just everyday dining. The staff are attentive and the food is wonderful. We enjoyed our first night so much, we dined there for a 2nd night, as well!
Great family night out to experience the historic, Hollywood charm of L.A.
Great food and service. I had the prime rib and my fiance had the filet. She said one of the best steaks she's ever had! We split the ceasar salad and it was plenty. Old school feel. Good service. Great martinis. Valet parking behind the restaurant. $3 for 2hrs. A must stop if your dining in Hollywood.
First time at Musso & Frank old time waiter service & decor enjoyed very much would definitely recommend.
Only reason for four stars on food...sides were colder then main entree. Garlic bread came with meal would have preferred as appetizer.
This is a Hollywood bucket list must!
Wonderful staff, atmosphere and food.
Food was good. Enjoyed the special, schnitzel!
We had high expectations based on other reviews. We left disappointed. The food was average at best. Definitely not worth the price.
We've been regulars at Musso & Frank for many years and this was the first time we've noticed a marked decline in its food & drink. Their martinis, for which they're famous, were barely chilled (including very little ice in the 'sidecar' spillover) and we were very disappointed at the changes (apparently permanent) they've suddenly made in some of their classic dishes, including their Caesar salad, their Crab Louis salad, and their Welsh Rarebit. The Caesar went from an authentic, made-from-scratch tasting salad with freshly grated parmesan, to a smaller, boring creamy vinaigrette-type dressing, sprinkled with thick, cheap looking shreds of salty parmesan (a la Spaghetti Factory ilk). And no more offers of freshly ground pepper. Instead, each table has its own set of cheap plastic salt & pepper grinders, with the pepper only spewing out coarse chunks of peppercorns, despite the adjustment knob on top. Our waiter was kind enough to hand us a grinder from another table, but it was the same. Their Crab Louis salad was half the size it used to be with even less crab. Their Welsh Rarebit, made consistently delicious for decades, with perfect toast points surrounding a delectable cheese sauce poured on top of a single thick, high quality, slice of bacon (to accommodate those who do not wish to mingle their sauce with the bacon), is now brought out with a large pile of fatty, partially cooked shredded bacon floating on top of the sauce, with toasted halved rolls around the dish so that each bite now comes with a mouthful of doughy bread rather than the perfect balance of slim toast points and sauce (to say nothing about the difficult-to-avoid globs of fatty bacon throughout the sauce). We were told that new managers were changing some things, despite advice from the fabulous waiters who've been there and helped create Musso's history and culture for 40+ yrs. Just hope they don't ruin one of the last reliably good Hollywood icons.
