Food was a bit overpriced for what it was and I found a hair in my wrap.
Service and food were amazing. Very flavorful and creative. Will always be back and recommended it to several friends already
I feel like this restaurant is not interested in attracting locals. Food was okay but not great. Raw oysters had bits of shell in them - not shucked professionally. Salads were very nice and the s’mores dessert was very good. However, pappardelle pasta was bland - and lacked the promised truffles. Miso cod was weird because of a very sweet sauce (too much vanilla). Service was also average. When we were being seated the staff seemed confused about where to seat us and our waiter didn’t take our food order for 25 minutes after we were seated. We had to ask for our wine (an old vintage) to be decanted. When we asked the receptionist to get our car from the valet, the car was driven to a different building. All in all, service did not match the prices. As San Francisco residents we really wanted to love this restaurant but we probably won’t return when so many other fine dining establishments in San Francisco and its environs provide better service.
Food was good. Service was not. Server not attentive, bought the first course on the heels of serving us our cocktails... way too early. The bottle of wine was served although he must have known the white wine was not chilled enough when he brought the bottle to the table. One guest ordered two scoops of sorbet for dessert, served only one. I asked for decaf coffee but served caffeinated so that I didn’t catch much sleep that night. Last detail, usually the wait staff serves the correct food to each person at the table. Not on this occasion... each course was a mix up (this is a small detail but accuracy expected if the restaurant wants to excel at “fine dining”).
Made reservations for the dining room but the weather was so nice we switched to the bar seating on the front porch. Nice view out over the parade grounds out to the bay. The small plates were actually sufficient to feed two and the drinks properly chilled. Definitely hit this place as the sun sets!
Always a plaisant stop when visiting San Francisco
Service was awesome food was phenomenal!
The restaurant was ok. Wouldn’t take the time to go back. Looks like a typical Park Service place.
Hotel rooms non descriptive. Again looks like Park Service Motel 5 rooms.
They could have done so much better it’s a shame.
Attentive service with good food and ambience.
Waiter said bday but it was anniversary
Thanks to the staff at Murray circle for accomadating us we were a party of 4 that grew to 7 and they were so nice
We really enjoyed this restaurant. It is very quiet, and the atmosphere is peaceful. The service is terrific, and we thought the food was excellent. My husband and I shared the steak, which was exceptional. We also had the black cod, which was beautifully presented and very good. I'd love to return to this restaurant!
I live in Marin and have gone into the bar several times so I thought I'd bring an out of town guest there for lunch. The view from Cavallo Point can't be beat. Plus view from the outside porch across the sizeable open space is lovely. I found the menu very limited, with no option for brunch. Perhaps this was the bar menu?? The sandwich I ordered (soft shell crab BLT) was good...but not exceptional, and the service, although good once it started, was very slow to start. The waiter kept walking by our table. Overall, I don't think I'd return for lunch but would go to the bar the next time.
The view was perfect! The steak was over cooked. When we asked for recommendations for purchasing a bottle of wine, the waiter kept offering $300+ options. When we stayed we would rather stick to less costly bottles, our service (just from the one individual) got worse. Everyone else was very hospitable.
The location of Murray Circle is unique with an amazing view of the GG Bridge. However, the food was uninspired and overpriced. The dining room is very nice and my servers Paul and Michelle were very pleasant and efficient. I'd consider going back for breakfast. For special occasions I'd go somewhere else.
Beautiful location and facility, but food lacked flavor.
Using a gift certificate, my husband and I opted to have a luxurious Breakfast and Dinner at Murray Circle, spending the time in between exploring Sausalito.
Breakfast was very relaxed and really delicious, I had crab Benedict, yum! The dining room was only partially full, and service was just right.
We returned later in the afternoon, had drinks in Farley Bar with a fantastic Ahi poke, then got seated in the restaurant when they opened at 5:30. Our server Gabriella was friendly, personable and eager to please and discuss the food choices. I had a memorable smoked trout salad that was really great, and a disappointing miso black cod that was perfectly cooked but lacked any flavor! I ate it all, but was sorry it wasn’t stellar.
Husband had hamachi crudo and rack of lamb, and he particularly enjoyed the lamb for its richness and flavor.
Gabriella asked if we were here for a special occasion, which we were (anniversary) and brought out some house made sweets for us to enjoy. We ordered dessert on top of that! I had the cacao nib caramel corn, and husband had an apricot and blueberry tart. Both were lovely!
Two thumbs up for the entire experience, and I would tell anyone to go out of their way to eat there, enjoy the amazing view of the bridge, and make a day of it!
Federic was amazing! We had a beautiful lunch on the patio, thanks for making it perfect!
Good food but had to scramble for service. Plus they should not have awated crying babies near us
On a nice day, the patio is so beautiful. Food is limited menu, generally OK, pricey for the dishes. But none of that matters compared to the setting. For me personally, having served at Fort Baker in the US Army Reserves, it's a great value on the patio, I'd not go there to sit inside.
The view, the decor, the menu, and the service make this a safe bet for a great time.
Atmosphere, food,& service were wonderful. Great restaurant for dinner. Had breakfast also & it was same quality
We stayed at Cavallo Point for 3 nights. the food was very good except the night I had the cod.....The fish was mushy and the dish just wasn’t good....I should have sent it back.
The service was poor with one of the waiters and ok with everyone else...not great like we expected
We love Murray Circle but feel they need some improvement!!!
We loved the Meyer lemon pancakes!!!!
Nice setting, but expensive for average food.
Great meal and experience! We will be back. Wonderful hotel, too!!
Love the food and atmosphere. Service can be inconsistent. I have had great experience and medicore ones. Short staffed on July 4th.
Murray Circle is such a nice, relaxed place to have dinner. The food and service are first rate. We always have a great time.
The only reason I would recommend Murray Circle would be for the view and the historical nature of the property and the setting. The menu was uninspiring. Food wasn't good and the prices were very high. In addition, the service was terrible.
service was not what i expected. had to ask for drinks. had to remind them to bring my scone and main course did not arrive hot. the crazy thing is it was not too busy. lots of empty tables
the bill was high given tepid service and food.
While the breakfast items were good, the fish tacos were overcooked. The service was awful though, and we will not return.
Family in town to visit so of course had to take them - yummy food with great service! ;)
As always beautiful view, good food and excellent service
We went on a quiet day which helps but the staff/service/food were superb and will go back.
I have tried three times to go here but something always came up, but finally we had a chance. I was excited but it turns out that the best part of the day was the friendly valet and the view of the golden gate. Our food and service was mediocre. My guest had a tri tip sandwich that was so tough you could not chew it, the veggie wrap had no taste. My steak was cooked well when I ordered it med rare. The server never came back so I could tell him. We ordered appetizers and the server brought our appetizers along with our salads, then before we could finish that here came our entrees, so on our table we now had appetizers, salads and entrees. Never got a refill on ice tea, the server was to busy flirting with the hostess. My suggestion go for the view, bring a picnic and sit on the lawn outside. My $161.00 lunch was not worth it.
Good atmosphere, very attentive service and the food is good as well. Prices are in line with Marin County. The view and the location itself are what raises the experience.
Service slow and disjointed. Disappointing brunch. Received my meal with out toast order. Finally came halfway through my meal. Jam, but no butter. Like I mentioned service very fragmented. Between the screaming baby and the poor service I won’t return. Too expensive for what you get. 😕
Great place excellent food and warm service
Good ambiance and service, but less than average food, especially for the price. I might come here again, but just for a little bite with wine and not for a whole meal. Food was bland and there was nothing special about it. I got the meyer lemon pancakes, truffle fries, and my friends got the burger and duck hash. We were disappointed, because the price point of these dishes were a bit more than we'd normally spend, so we were expecting higher quality food. Their fries were okay - not the best truffle fries I've had though, because you couldn't really taste the truffle.
I have enjoyed Murray Circle several times and recommed it to others.
