This place is incredible. The views are amazing! The food was some of the best we had while in Jackson. My husband had the prime rib and declared it fantastic (He's very picky about his prime rib). I had the bison New York strip and it was heavenly. I also had the tomato bisque and it was the best tomato soup I've eaten. Dessert was worth every calorie. Our server was very good: personable and attentive but never annoying. This restaurant is pricey, but worth it in my opinion.
I was extremely disappointed and would recommend never to go here. The one exception was the mussels cioppino which were delicious however it was served with 3 small pieces of stale hard bread. Terrible value for our money.
Smoked trout Cesar salad had very little trout.
The view, the food, the service, everything was perfect.
Service was much better than the previous evening. However, no tomato mozzarella salad, no soup at all, no chicken and no specials. We will have dinner somewhere else the rest of the trip.
Our waiter Julian was terrific about helping us with our options, and the food was terrific. The manager came around and spoke with us. And, oh, the view to the Tetons is nothing short of spectacular.
There was no parking. My friend had to park near the horse stables. I could not have walked that far.
There were empty 2 person tables by the windows. We were told they were set for the evening dinner. We were there at 12:30.
I ordered a chicken panini with mornay sauce. The bottom of the roll was so hard I could not cut it with a knife. I will not be back and I will not recommend the Mural Room to other friends traveling to the Tetons.
This was our 3rd stay at the Jackson Lake Lodge and our 5th dinner at the Mural Room. We were very disappointed with the service overall. We were not offered a wine list. Our waiter asked for our orders before we opened the menu and did not tell us about the specials. We asked for bread 3 times but it never arrived. We had to ask other waiters for water refills. Fortunately, the food was quite good. We are booked to return but have not decided if we will.
The food and service was fine it was clear that the company operating the restaurant was not the same as the lodge when we had an issue there was no customer service provided by management service staff
This was very disappointing given the reputation. The Lodge was very busy with at Nat Geo film makers
conference. I understand that the staff were under a lot of pressure with the conference. But we are the visiting public on our own and loving the experience. We were lost in the shuffle. Three tables came in after us and were served before us. Our dinners arrived after we alerted wait staff but they were lukewarm. We paid for our wine and entree soup but declined the rest of the meal. I know that it is a balancing act but just remember the individual travelers are as important as your money-maker conferences. We have a wonderful meal. I had ldaho Trout with a great corn relish and Tomato Smoked Gouda Soup. My husband also enjoyed his meal. We asked for a window seat, at sundown and it was so pretty. Topping off our meal was our wonderful server who was just so attentive. A little pricey but considering it was a prime location and time slot, we didn’t mind.
We split a salad and a bison steak, perfect amount of food. Great view and friendly staff.
Best place we ate in exploring Glacier, Yellowstone and Teton National Parks. The setting is just gorgeous. The service is outstanding and our food was very tasty with a good selection of entrees and done just as ordered even with a picky eater! We ate there all three nights of our stay.
Comfortable seating, but very slow service and far too expensive for the quality of food
Wonderful dinner - one that almost matches the incredible view of the Tetons but nothing can compare to that! The food was very good - fairly limited but nice menu, the service was very good and even though it's a pretty large room it was surprisingly quiet (almost full). We stayed at the Jackson Lodge and wished the cabin was the same quality as the Mural Room - just be prepared.
The meal was excellent and the service matched. It was very nice of the manager to stop at our table to ensure we were happy with our dining experience. And you cannot beat the view!
Portions very small. Price way too high, especially for for size of portions. Kitchen was very stingy. Service was good, views spectacular.
We had two dinners in the Mural Room -- really exceptional food and service. Beautiful view out onto Lake Yellowstone.
Food was good but way overpriced even given the fact it has to be shipped about 200 miles from the nearest civilization. As far as the ambiance, mediocre. Service also mediocre given the high price. And if you dine later, you will not see the view, but instead a reflection of the dining room, so eat early. My advice is go to Jenny Lake lodge for lunch - awesome food at good value.
This was a last minute reservation for 715. We checked with restaurant at 530 and at first told us no availability. But after taking 715 spot they could take us right away and 80% of tables were empty till 630.
Service was way too slow. We waited for over an hour after ordering our food. We were seated at 5:50 and didn’t leave the restaurant until 7:45. The view is spectacular and the food was good, but after waiting so long, it dampened the experience.
Wonderful relaxing meal. Great way to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant had a good selection of offerings. The trout was excellent. Also an outstanding wine list.
Expensive meal averaging $50 per person if you have alcohol too. Both nites the staff were very nice especially Todd. I had the Macadamia encrusted Opah which was rad over cooked but good. The rice pilaf was excellent. Hubby ordered the same dish the 2nd night and the fish was perfectly cooked.
The fried calamari was OK but no tentacles. Basically sliced calamari steak pieces. The ahi poke on a large tortilla chip was delicious. You can have a salad with entree for additional $5 but $18 as a meal. We were full just with sharing an appetizer and entree.
I tried seared ahi 2nd night with black rice. It was good.
Hubbys Mai Tai and Endless Summer drinks were good too.
Wonderful view, food and service. Highly recommend!
Ask for a table by the window. Great view. Never saw any animals looking out tho. Food was very good and staff was professional and nice. The manager would walk around and check on the customers.
Really liked their salads and I tried 2 of them as we dined here twice for dinner. The beet salad was my least favorite.
I would definitely return here for dinner if we stay at this hotel again.
The dining room was running late, which I didn’t mind too much (only half the tables in the restaurant seemed to be used), I assumed that they were short staffed and were seating accordingly. When we sat down the wait staff was nice and courteous. When we began trying to place our order, they were out of many of the items on the menu, mains and sides. We finally ordered bison steak. It took a while to get out order. Once we did, the steaks were burned -HORRIBLE - the exterior was charcoal, and the inside rare, and tough. This is the first time in my husbands 67 years he had to use catsup to make it edible. I can only say avoid this restaurant- there are a number of other restaurants in the park, anyone would be well served by avoiding this restaurant.
We were seated 45 mins late for our reservation...which I made several weeks ago. Food was good but not what I expect for $40....but the view was spectacular.
We had reservations but had to wait 10-15 minutes. Our server was friendly and took our order of soup and the prime rib. More than 30 minutes passed and still hadn’t received our soup took awhile for me to get our server’s attention as she was busy with multiple tables. When I finally did and inquired about it she seemed surprised and said she would check on it. She returned shortly apologized and said the kitchen had lost our order but would start on it immediately and our dinner would be comped because of the mixup. Soup finally arrived and was good. Prime rib followed shortly and it was ok. She apologized several times and the dinner was free so they did try to right the situation.
We eat here every few years when we are a guest in the Lodge. It’s always a good solid meal and the view is outstanding. The staff tries, but this is largely a seasonal restaurant and they miss a little on the details for fine dining. Still, it’s always enjoyable and we will be back on day when we are in town. The house salad and Beef Tenderloin are pictured. The steak should have been medium. It was a little more like medium well, but was still delicious.
Our waitress was excellent! She was full of smiles and her recommendations were perfect. She recommended the Green Goddess vegan (yay) soup which turned out to be the best part of the meal. We recommended the soup to the rest of our family (we ate separately because it was our 39th anniversary, but it was also our son's 20th birthday - so they were celebrating as well.) Unfortunately, the soup was no longer available when they ordered it (very disappointing to the 2 vegans in the group.)
I have to say that my Pasta Primavera was not great - especially for the price. My husband did enjoy his prime rib.
Planned a special evening at this breathtaking location, most diners seemed to enjoy their meal, for us the evening was a giant disappointment. We arrived for our 7:45 reservation and was offered a table in the back away from the view everyone comes there for. Asked for a table near the windows (several were empty), said we would wait. 15 minutes later seated at one of the previously empty tables. Sat there several minutes before our waiter came by only to tell us he was ""very busy". From there all was a downhill snowball of disappointment and waiting for service. When entree's finally came my Elk ordered rare was medium and my wife's trout entree was salmon! Sent both back to the kitchen. What we finally ate was disappointing. The manager did comp our entire meal order but I would have much preferred food and service on par with the restaurant's location and reputation. Would have gladly paid a bill for same including a nice tip.
30 min late to get in
Waiter was slow and inefficient
Food was ok
Outstanding food in a gorgeous setting.
The beef and elk were excellent cuts, cooked to perfection.
Very good service.
Not to be missed while staying in Grand Teton or Yellowstone areas.
You,couldn’t ask for a better setting to enjoy a beautiful meal.....it is spectacular scenery! Ambiance is a 10......servers from all over the world are friendly and lovely.
Service was poor. Food pretty good but night ruined by total disregard for customer needs.
Dinner was perfect. The setting & view was exceptional. Excellent service. Delicious salmon & trout entrees
Sooooo glad the Mural Room takes reservations via OpenTable ... as other restaurants in the park do not.
The restaurant’s best feature is its view of Grand Teton and Mt. Moran. Exquisite. The wine list is extensive, slightly over-priced, but not bad. The issue is the food. My pork tenderloin was so over cooked I could barely chew it. My wife ordered the trout, which was nicely served, only slightly over cooked. The apple cake dessert was quite good
Our server was great, though a bit rushed to cover all his tables.
Bottom line, we paid a premium price for a wonderful view, nice service and mediocre food.
The setting is absolutely stunning- which is the only reason to eat here. Service was adequate. I was eating alone so my bread basket had a single piece of focaccia- dry on all the cut edges. I ordered the pasta primavera- lots and lots of pasta but very few vegetables and no sauce...just oily 😕. Disappointing food for such a spectacular setting.
