Mura at North Hills
With event venues available for rent ranging from small, intimate tatami rooms, to our entire restaurant, Mura provides a flexible space for business meetings, company parties, birthday dinners, receptions and much more.
New server, very slow and inattentive. Love Mura still.
Mura never disappoints. Every time I go I leave very satisfied and happy with my meal. The sushi is wonderful!
Spider roll made with imitation crab
I enjoyed dinning at Mura. The food and service was great. It's also my go to for sushi.
Nice spot for some special rolls. Very accommodating for a more vegetarian approach . Great service
I'd give this restaurant a B+ for its sushi menu. We had a few different rolls, and they were good, although I've had better in restaurants on the west coast. The flavor is not as intense, and the rolls were presented in a bit of a hap-hazard manner (read sloppy). The restaurant is dark which makes it difficult to read the menu and really appreciate the food. The chocolate desert was as if it was just defrosted and quickly reheated. The service was mediocre, too quick to remove bottles, glasses, etc. All in all though, it was OK.
Wait staff my be too busy to remember order? Did not deliver appetizers prior to entrees
The food is absolutely delicious! We sampled multiple special rolls—the Hamachi Lover is delig
Food and service was great! Atmosphere was subpar!
Mura has always been a very reliable 'go to' for special occasions. In my opinion, the sushi is unmatched, and the consistent quality every time makes it an easy choice. We have recently deferred to ordering one of their Sushi Boats, and the variety offered is always enjoyable and fun.
I use to like Mura but now they have a new Executive Chef, I was told, and the food is really not that great. The sushi was ok but I am very disappointed in the Teppanyaki Steak, rice and vegetables. The quantity has decreased and the quality is not as good, but surely the priced stayed the same. I was disappointed in the seaweed salad as they gave me a quarter size of seaweed and the rest was mixed lettuce. If I wanted a regular salad I would have asked for one especially since the seaweed salad is $8 and the side salad is $5. They also suppose to make their ginger dressing and it doesn't even taste like ginger. It is more of a vinaigrette type dressing. Also, the service is really slow there all of sudden. It took one hour after being seated to get our salads and they weren't even that busy. This is the 2nd time we had a bad experience so I will probably mark Mura off our list of places to go. We use to visit at least 3x a month.
Service was very slow and Hurricane was over cooked. Usually love this restaurant but it was an off night.
The main dining area is dark with red walls and black linens and seating - too dark which doesn't create a good ambiance. The front of the restaurant has natural light and is much more appealing. We ordered sashimi - compared to other Sushi restaurants in area, the order had much smaller pieces and more costly. Based on this food experience, I unfortunately can not recommend given all the other great Raleigh (sushi) restaurants in the area that are a better choice.
During our entire meal the waitress was extremely inattentive to just our party. Also, when she brought the bill, she added two entrées that we did not order. The food was good, but the service made this one of the worst dining out experience ever.
We had outdoor seating that had no atmosphere- no music, the fountain was dry and no sound from that, no cool factor. The server refilled our water glasses once, and none when the meal was served and finished. The tiki torches weren't lit for lighting although it was dark out- and the chef/or kitchen staff appeared on the patio in a very dirty uniform and said "It's dead out here!!" Probably won't return!
Lunch was for my husband’s Father’s Day outing. The food was very good and we will return.
First time Mura customer.. the place was surprisingly empty for a Saturday night so we hoped for great, quick service. We ordered drinks and an appetizer to start with, both were great. 45 minutes later, our undercooked steak comes out and it took another 10 mins for our waiter to come back before we could tell him it was rare instead of medium.. when i asked for a manager, he tried to lie and say he stopped by and we never said anything.. total lie considering i didn’t leave the table once. They offered to throw the steak back on the grill... which was fine, except when it came back, our noodles were cold because they weren’t touched. They offered free drinks for each of us or a free dessert for the trouble but we passed bc we already had drinks and assumed they’d just take it off the bill at the end. When the tab was brought to us, noticing was taken off until we asked. It was such a horrible experience. Never going back.
It was fantastic, so yummy!
It’s a nice restaurant. I’ve been before and brought my family to introduce them to the place. Great food and environment! You won’t be disappointed.
I used to love to eat at Mura however this experience left me wondering If I should bother.
We arrived at 1:15 and by the time we got our dessert and paid the bill it was 2:40. We ordered an appetizer; the Brussels Sprouts and they were chewy as ever. Then our first course came right after. It was good. Then it took awhile for our actual main course. This was good. Our dessert took almost 40 minutes to arrive and my friend ordered the pear one and she said it was horrible and that the pears were not even ripe.
The food and service were wonderful. We took friends who were visiting from out of town. They were impressed with the selection and the service too. The portion sizes are generous. We’ll be back.
The restaurant was empty when we got there at 5:45 and we were seated at the table closest to the wait station, so we asked to be moved to a booth. Our request was refused by the manager even though the booths remained mostly empty throughout our meal. Ridiculous and unacceptable considering we had a reservation. The food was good, but the value on the Chirashi Don entree was sub-par at best.
Food was great, service was spotty. Food and drinks took a long time to come out. I would recommend it for the food, but since it's quite expensive the service was inappropriately casual and slow.
One of our favorite Sushi restaurants! Always delightful, tasteful, and made to perfection. We love the Hurricane, Carolina, & Tuna Lovers rolls. A must try! Pictured is their Volcano Shrimp a little spicy but AMAZING!
Amazing service and delicious food! Enjoy having lots of choices and options on the menu to have dishes just the way you like. Servers always courteous and knowledgeable. We come often and always leave happy!
Sushi choices arent as good as they used to be many years ago. We were there specifically for sushi so it was a bit disappointing. Our server and server in training were excellent.
Great food, convenient location and parking!
The sushi Tempura vegetable is very good. Great place to go if you are a vegetarian or a vegan.
Went for my birthday, the food was delicious but the service was terrible. When we walked in the hostess was friendly and outgoing but I don’t even know our waitress’ name because she never told us. She barely spoke and when she did she mumbled . We ordered truffle oil edamame for an appetizer and she didn’t bring it to us till after our dinner was served and we were completely finished eating and never apologized. I just asked for a box and took it home. The restaurant was completely empty, the food was quick and good but she was the most unfriendly waitress I’ve ever encountered and had zero personality. I’ll go back because the food is good, but hopefully we’ll have better luck with a friendlier server!
Mura is always a good experience. There is a wide range of foods - on this visit we had a vegan and a non-sushi eater. Everyone enjoyed their drinks and entrees.
Enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Server was polite and attentive. No complaints. Love the sake. White Label is good stuff.
Mura has always been one of our favorite places, but Mother's Day was very disappointing. They must have over booked because we were called more than once and asked to give up our reservation. They were out of most beers on the menu and out of the wine we ordered. Despite the fact that, at 5:30, the dining room had several open tables we barely saw our server and, when we did, it was clear she wanted us to rush through our experience. The most she said to us was when she complained how busy lunch had been. There were multiple open booths and tables even when we were leaving, and we had made a reservation weeks in advance, but we were seated at a plastic folding table that had clearly been squeezed into the dining room. Definitely wasn't worth it this time around. Used to be one of our standards for a nice night out or a special occasion, but not anymore.
We have been coming to Mura for over 5 years. My wife and I always come because we have always said that they have the freshest sushi in Raleigh. Quality is top notch. Well...this time was different. First the positives. We arrived promptly for our reservation at 7:30. They seated us right away in a nice booth. Hostesses were friendly. After that everything was very average. Our server was triple sat. Waited a long time for her to return to take our order and when she refilled our water we told her we would like to go ahead and order. She told us that she got triple sat and needed to go over and take drink orders for another table. Not ideal but I understand it. Not her fault. However when the sushi arrived the rolls definitely are smaller than any previous time we have come. We got the Piano, Screaming O, Spider and one other that I can't name. First taste was obvious. Sushi was not nearly as fresh as in the past. Spider roll is prob the worst out of any of the dozens of sushi restaurants we have ever been to. Do not get it... the piano roll is our favourite but everything was disappointing food and service wise. Either they had an off night or this restaurant is slipping downhill. We will give it one more try because I believe it's fair and hopefully it's just a one time deal. If not we will start going to Waraji or the new one opening soon at the Dillon in downtown Raleigh.
Always delicious with great service. Enjoyable for everyone.
I have been to Mura on a number of occasions so I probably will give it another try. However, if this was my first visit I would not be returning. First, let me say that we waited over an hour and a half to receive our main course and it was not worth the wait. The food was just okay with very little flavor. The drinks were not very good either. We had a cosmos and they came in these little glasses that looked like a baby margarita. It surely was waste of $100 on dinner/drinks.
We came for my girlfriends birthday because it was somewhere that she really wanted to go and it was well worth it. We will definitely be going back.
We have always enjoyed Mura in the past. Unfortunately the last time our experience was not as great. We waited a very long time to get our food. We requested that my son's meal comes first. By the time the children's meals were brought out it we had been waiting for about 40-45 minutes. It took 15-20 more minutes to get the rest of the food. We were starving.
The food was still good and our family who had never been to Mura before enjoyed it. The wait unfortunately gave them a bad taste for the overall experience.
It was great! Good food, atmosphere, and service!
Menu has changed, not as good of a selection
Excellent variety of food choices that really make for a fusion experience. Bar is very good as well with imaginative cocktails. Ambiance is very good with authentic looking private rooms providing a bit of intrigue.
