The last 20 years have brought on many changes in the North End. The number of restaurants have gone from the single digits, back in the early days, to close to a hundred. Also, the old Central Artery that had divided the North End for so many years, has since disappeared.
Mother Anna’s has now become the gateway to the North End. On a beautiful summer night, a table on the now famous patio gives customers a view of the Boston skyline that can only be experienced at Mother Anna’s. Mother Anna’s should not be missed!

we were the only people in the restaurant. the pasta was cold and tasted bad. lobster ravioli was okay. only good thing was the sangria. ordered chicken marsala, it was more like honey with chicken. dont come here
Great service and the food was amazing !
The food was delicious. Our waiter Tommy was very attentive and helpful. We ate way too much food.
Love this place!! Never disappoints!! Food spot on!! Staff extremely nice !!!
Food was tasty and very big portions! One of my better North End dining experiences. Decent prices too!
They handled a group of 10 remarkably well. The wait staff were friendly and helpful when it came time to order. Thank you for letting us come early to get in out of the cold!
Excellent service. Food was delicious
Once again, an excellent meal at Mother Anna’s…chicken marsala was perfect and my daughter got the steak and it was perfectly cooked as well. Great rum punch too!
Great staff and food was excellent
It was very quiet during lunch which was nice because we were able to catch up and talk. The food was amazing. It was my first time there and I will definitely go back!
The food was excellent! The red sauce is amazing.
Mother Anna's is a Hanover St, North End classic. It's been there for as long as I can remember.
The service was on point - everyone attentive and helpful! The food is meh and frankly, disappointing. But. You can say you've eaten at Mother Anna's.
Less for locals who know better, more for the tourists who need an easy North End experience.
I have been going to Mother Anna’s for years and never disappointed
Ok for a night out. Good location in the North End. Food was good, service was great.
Some of the food was overcooked and in other instances drenched with oils or sauces to cover the overcooking. There were little flies just around us the entire time. The carpet was just so bad and not well maintained. But the bright side was the service staff was very friendly and tried their best. This place needs a renovation at least.
I took friends there before the Bruins game and it was their first time...you didn't disappoint! Great as usual :)
Food and service were wonderful! The apps, meals, drinks and desserts were delicious! Great authentic atmosphere! Will definitely go back!
Fruit flies flying around while we ate.
Amazing food, great service, food came out quickly, very reasonably priced. Loved it!
In town for a swim meet, great meal !
Great dinning experiance. Great food, staff was top notch
Teodore steak was good, peppers and onions on point!
Server was kind and professional!
The. whole experience was awesome and the food was even better. Great atmosphere. Our waitress was very good and guided us to make the best decisions. The Wedding soup was phenomenal.
The wait staff was not particularly attentive, although we were by far the largest party in the restaurant. The food was just okay.
We had a reservation for 11 people and then added 3 more gusts at the last minute- the staff were very accommodating and made our special occasion extra special!
Authentic Italian cooking. Eggplant Rollatini was perfection!
Absolutely Delicious!!! Hannah our waitress was lovely she recommended a great Chicken dish. If you are looking for a Good Old Fashion Family Generational Italian dining experience this is it!
At 7:30 they ran out of bread!!!!!The red sauce was good but the veal was a bit tough. We sat at a table next to the bar and when we got a beer and asked for a glass, the waiter dashed off saying he had to get someone's meal out. Note- we sat 2 steps from the bar.
First time there with a group of former co-workers. Food was delicious and plentiful for lunch. Drinks were good. Service was excellent and friendly. I would go back.
Everything was great. Wish portable heaters were available as we ate outside
The food was excellent. The only negative comment is there was a lot of fruit flies flying around.
Beautiful out door area. Excellent service. Food was god
Great food! Service was speedy; almost too fast as we had not finished our appetizer when salad arrived and then dinner right after. Lobster risotto was awesome! Creamy and chunks of lobster. Lobster ravioli was also very good as was the calamari apps. Lovely evening outside!
Seated quickly. Service was slow. Food was good, just long wait time to get anything.
food was outstanding - loved the outdoor dining experience
Only bad thing we were downstairs and my husband sat by a door the employees had to keep getting into .. so he had to keep getting up ...
We took my daughter and her roommate to Mother Anna’s last night. They go to BC. The food was excellent. Chloe our sever was outstanding!
Service was not great. An Italian restaurant should have grated cheese ready. Things were forgotten multiple times We had to ask 3 times. and then we opened the cover of the cheese and the aluminum inside was All rusted with pieces of rust in the cheese.
Celebration for my mans birthday ! We had a wonderful meal and our waiter Calvin was fabulous ! He went out of his way to make sure our little
Celebratory dinner was special . We were not rushed at all and he took care to make sure we were happy. The portions were enough for us to bring home for another meal! However , the antipasto salad was out of this world! My favorite ! Calvin was sure to bring the birthday boy some cake and a cannoli for his special day and that was “the icing on the cake “ so to speak!
We will be back …. A LOT !
Great Boston Italian experience. I’m this place was recommended to us by a local and did not disappoint. Would recommend
