Homemade Pasta Jumbo Lobster Saffron
Fresh Pasta w/ fresh Maine lobster tail in a delicate saffron tomato cream sauce
Loved this very cozy little restaurant. Tony, the manager even played his guitar and sang happy birthday to our birthday girl in English and then in Italian.
The best Italian food I’ve had in WA! Our go-to for date nights, holidays, milestones and when family/friends are visiting from out of town.
All the personal are top notch, food is always always excellent. Definitely no other place like montalcino!
Excellent main courses. Scallop and shrimp appetizer very disappointing…three small shrimp and two small scallops for $24 way overpriced and not that good, however ample portions for main entree and all were absolutely delicious so more than makes up for the appetizer
Our waitress did her best but had too many people to wait on. Service was good overall and our server was very nice when she attended to us. My wife’s meal should come with lobster but due to shortage it had shrimp substituted instead. Loved when the musician sang happy birthday to my wife in Italian nice touch.
The ambience, the food, the coziness of the restaurant, the service, the wine, was totally amazing!
Everything I’ve heard about the restaurant from other people was true, and it surpassed any of the restaurant experience I’ve had in Issaquah, and one of the best meals I’ve had in many many years!
There was only one very slight negative that it was a little too dark They provided little flashlights so that was OK!
I had been hearing about this amazing Italian restaurant and it did not disappoint. All four of us loved our entrees from the Marsala meatballs pasta, Braised short rib Ravioli and Lobster Ravioli. The staff was very attentive, knowledgeable and Rick made us feel very special. It is a small, quaint location, so reservations are a must. We can't wait to go back!
Delightful late Sunday evening dinner. The quieter the ambiance, the better the experience is here.
No special occasion. Just loved the previous time I was at Montalcino.
I always love this restaurant- lovely ambience and food and a big thank you to the resident singer who took a request from me for a lovely Bob Dylan love song!
unfortunately we do not know why things have gone down hill for this once awesome restaurant. Sad attempt last night in regards to service and safe environment.
We were offered a folding chair for dinner because they were without...because they crammed in more folks than they had seats for.
Three staff for the entire restaurant, previous ownership was overstaffed and at least yo felt attended to.
Cannot go back....
Love this authentic, neighborhood restaurant! Family atmosphere with amazing food.
Perfect place for our anniversary. Ambience and service was wonderful. Food was delicious!
Great every single time. I make weekly reservations!
Had a wonderful time as always.
Amazing!!!! Anyone who loves homey Italian food with excellent customer service will LOVE it here. I recommend this place to everyone!
Our very favorite Italian restaurant! The food, services and ambiance is always top notch!

Best Restaurant In Issaquah
Absolutely thrilled we found this place after in town for soccer. Perfect service and impeccable food. Will be back!

My Daughters Birthday, however, we would come back for everyday dining!
This is a little gem for sure. The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. A bit pricey, but perfect for special occasions. And ohhhhhh that grilled scallop and prawn app. Ohhh myyy.
One of our favorite restaurants. We took another couple for dinner to celebrate our anniversaries
last night. My husbands pasta dish was good but not hot enough. Me and the other guest both ordered osso buco, several minutes later the waitress told us they were out of veal. She recommended the lamb shank which was delicious but $7.00 more. It was a bit of a disappointment this time.
Still it’s my favorite restaurant!
The BEST Italian food! We've been several times and are impressed every time. Already looking forward to our next visit.
this is a great place for a special dinner. food is excellent and service is great.
A long time returning customer. Best Italian on the east side easily! Short rib ravioli is to die for. Also like the Lobster Ravioli. Clams to start are amazing.
Their was an Italian guitar player singing famous songs in Italian. It was ultra romantic. I couldn’t have chose better for my wife’s birthday.
The seafood was so fresh and the pasta was to die for. The lamb shank fell off the bone and was the best. We loved the appetizers, entrees, salads and desserts.
The wine list is amazing and the prices are reasonable. We love it here. The service is impeccable, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is warm, inviting and clean. We eat here about once a month and the service, food and drinks are consistently top notch.
You can count on a great experience every single time you dine here.
After being contacted by the owner regarding my first review, I edited it and bumped up the rating, which I now regret. Following is an attempt to convey the same information from my first review.
Dined here recently. Wrote an honest review. Owner contacted me and made me feel bad, so I changed the review. When I came to my senses, I wished I hadn't done that. I care about business owners, and I also rely on reviews to choose where to dine. What rating should I give a restaurant that charges high prices for mediocre food? The ambience is great, the musician was nice, as was the server, and the servings are reasonably generous. We ordered charcuterie, the Halibut special, Grigliata Mista, along with tiramisu and wine. Some of the food was hard to choke down (the tomatoes and dry cheese in the charcuterie, and the extraordinarily dry chicken in the Grigliata Mista), some of it wasn't seasoned properly (the eggplant and artichokes had no detectable seasoning, not even salt, and there was too much salt in the sauce of the Grigliata Mista) and the remainder was just so-so. The only well made item was the orzo in the Halibut dish. Perhaps stick to just pasta at this restaurant? In fact, we enjoyed our previous visit to the restaurant when we had pasta dishes, but I read the ownership changed recently, so not sure if that made any difference. Not only were we not thrilled with our expensive meal at Montalcino, the owner wasted more of my time when he reached out to me about my review. (He said I should have contacted him before posting my review, but it doesn't matter that the server didn't ask me how I liked the food. And, according to him, I don't understand how difficult it is to source ingredients, like where to get tomatoes that actually have some flavor at the tail end of summer, and chicken that isn't dry.) If you want amazing food and ambience in a similar price range, try 84 Yesler in Seattle, t
I will put this restaurant up against any in Seattle. The food and service are top shelf
Excellent in every regard. A favorite place to dine.
Montalcino’s is, by far, the best Italian restaurant I have ever visited! The food is beyond delicious, the ambiance is quaint and cozy, and the owner and servers are so welcoming and friendly. You feel like you are part of a family when you’re there. Fantastic!
Our “go to” Italian restaurant in the area!
I adore this pricy but so worth elegant but family, intimate but a lovely shared experience, between Tony, who is a subtle gentle composer of the evening. The songs he sings, coming to your table at just the right moment, and when he gently hums a refrain you remember right when you pick up a mouthwatering, homemade pasta with wild boar and a subtle truffle creme sauce. Generous portions, outstanding primi plates to share, secondi - lamb shanks, and the frozen lemoncello ice must be shared!
Spent my wife’s birthday here, this weekend. It’s been a while since we’ve visited. A fresh reminder of how wonderful this restaurant is. All aspects of dining here were top notch. The friendly, welcoming greeting upon getting there, everyone greeting us as they passed, and wishing my wife a happy birthday.
The service was excellent, from beginning to end.
The food was the best, every entree was prepared so well, ample portions, perfectly seasoned, piping hot to the table.
I had the frutti de mare (seafood pasta). The best. My wife had the halibut, which IMHO, was the best halibut I had ever had. Moist, cooked perfectly.
The tiramisu fir dessert was the capper.
Thank you for the great experience for us, and making a very memorable day for my wife.
Excellent food and service, as usual!
Our friends from Gig Harbor loved it!
This is a wonderful and intimate restaurant to celebrate special occasions. My husband and I celebrated our 39th wedding anniversary and gave us a complimentary glass of champagne to toast our event. The food and service is exemplary! This is by far the most authentic and best Italian fare. Enjoyed all the menu items and everything was well executed with fresh ingredients, flavorful combinations and beautiful presentation.
