Buon Appetito and Salute!
My wife and i enjoyed this restaurant very much. Amazing food and incredible hospitality!!
Under new ownership since the last time we were there... So far, so good.
Love coming here for wonderful service, great food and attentive staff. Small and very quaint restaurant where we come to celebrate special occasions. Quiet and lovely atmosphere with great wine selections.
Never disappoints! Went there for my wife's birthday on a Friday night and we were greeted by the owner and served by pleasant and competent wait staff. Food was wonderful and they gladly substituted a wonderful red sauce on a menu item that normally comes with a cream sauce. A highlight of the evening was the cannoli -- normally a dish that is nondescript at most restaurants, but here it was dipped in chocolate with a wonderful hint of cinnamon in the cheese. We all left with big smiles. We will continue to come back for sure.
Great food in a charming space in Issaquah. It will be on our short list of the best places to go.
We haven't been back here in a couple years and they did not disappoint with amazing food (the braised short rib ravioli, lamb shank and halibut were all fabulous) and spectacular service (e.g. the water glasses were filled so silently in the beginning that we never realized they'd ben there). We were even treated to a serenade by an acoustic guitarist/singer which just finished the evening perfectly for us. We'll be back more frequently!!!
Our favorite restaurant, if we could eat there everyday we would
My husband and I went here for our anniversary. We were each given a small glass of presseco on the house to celebrate. The food was pretty good but a bit pricey. I think we both enjoyed the bruschetta more than our actual meals. Overall it's a very nice place. The owner, Rick, was very personable and welcoming. The servers were all very friendly. Nice ambiance!
Love this restaurant. It's an intimate setting with amazing food. Highly recommend!
It was our Anniversary and the own had a rose for my wife with two glasses of champagne upon our arrival. Both meals, seccheti and short ribs were amazing. Thank you!
I dine here a few times a year with friends. We obviously love the place or we wouldn't keep going back. The food is always delicious. But we always wish the musician would be content to sit in his corner and play rather than insisting on going table to table. The venue is just too small and even though we decline his offer to serenade our table, he still disrupts our ability to have a pleasant meal with a pleasant conversation. Please, please, please just serenade the room, not the individual tables!
Best restaurant meal in ages. Food was super tasty, presentation was beautiful.
We took our friends for their last night in town. We didn’t realize it was sold in May. Even though Fernando wasn’t greeting the door (not the same😔), the food was excellent (like we expected) as was the staff.
Wishing the best to the new owners.
Visited restaurant for my husbands birthday. Location is great and although very tiny inside the food was phenomenal and service was impressive. They also have a singer who is very entertaining! It’s a little gem that we highly recommend for date night or special occasions and will definitely be returning!
Good music and good vibes. Date night hit!
Incredible dining experience.
The food, sevice, atmosphere and wine was exceptional.
First time eating there and we were treated as "special" from ownership, management and service the moment we hit the sidewalk outside the front door.
This is a destination, not simply and outstanding Italian restaurant.
Miss it at your own risk.
If you’re looking for a place to spend a special occasion LOOK NO FURTHER!!
We were celebrating our 4 year wedding anniversary and had the most incredible experience! They had a rose and Prosecco waiting for us upon arrival 😍 The owner Rick was the most hospitable and was checking in with us to make sure we were satisfied thru our entire experience on such a personal level! Our waitress Lucy was excellent and made recommendations on the whole menu that really got us out of our comfort level and was incredible! So appreciated the passion she had for her recommendations! And I have to mention our secondary waiter who was always there to refill our water and clear the table, he was so sweet and so prompt!
If that wasn’t amazing enough.. they had an Italian musician serenade us TABLE SIDE!! This was absolutely unexpected and such the experience!! He came to every table and interacted with the guests, and then would sing a song catered to their occasion. Because it was our anniversary he sang a Frank Sinatra song. ♥️ (he is there every day except Tuesdays and Thursdays)
Oh yea.. the FOOD!!! Oh my!! Our meal was off the charts!! I am such an Italian lover! Had the lobster ravioli, Gorgonzola pasta with filet minion and desert was home made cannoli and pistachio gelato. Everything was wonderful and full of flavor!!
This is a MUST!! ♥️♥️♥️
Great for a date night. Not too great for kids but still wonderful
This is our favorite restaurant! The food is ALWAYS delicious, the staff is amazing and we could not recommend it highly enough!
We brought our friends from out of town in. Italians. They loved it! It’s a great date night or special place to share with good friends!
The entire staff as chef were amazing with all our requests. Very accommodating and welcoming. The food and service were outstanding! Will definitely be back.
This was our first time to Moltalcinos since it’s been under new ownership. We went with two other couples, all of us have been regular patrons at Montalcinos for years. The ambiance felt the same and the menu selection seemed the same. We had a 6:30pm reservation on a Saturday night. We immediately ordered the burrata mozzarella caprese salad as appetizers, and were told they were out of the burrata mozzarella. Then our server told us about the special, which was halibut, but then told us there was only one piece left and if anyone wanted it we had to order it right then. How on earth does an authentic Italian restaurant run out of burrata mozzarella at 6:30pm on a Saturday night? And how does a restaurant run out of their nightly special so early in the evening? I did order the halibut and it was delicious. The only other issue we had was the service. Our dinner entrees were delivered to our table an hour and 20 minutes after we ordered them. The server kept apologizing for the delay and the owner told us how sorry he was, but their kitchen was “slammed.” How does a restaurant with 9 tables, which are regularly reserved in advance, get slammed? The excuse seemed very disingenuous— if the kitchen was short handed I would have preferred the truth. Although our party did not complain, our server brought us a complimentary plate of dessert — a piece of tiramisu and two cannoli — for six of us to share. We all enjoyed our meal and enjoyed our time together. I just wish we could have had the burrata caprese salad and I wish we didn’t have to wait so long for our meals. Hopefully the new owner (who is not Italian) can work out the kinks we experienced.
Such tasty Italian food with top notch service. Love the ambience
Always one of favorite places for a special occasion or date night. Wonderful service, exceptional food & wine and a cozy, romantic setting.
Wonderful atmosphere but very loud when it was full. Food was delicious but the presentation was a bit over the top. My pasta came in a bowl that had 4" high sides so I felt like I was digging for my food. Perfect plus for wine - just a little bit big. The live music was nice, not over the top. Overall I would go back and enjoy another night with my husband. You'll enjoy it too.
We love Montalcino! Amazing food and authentic vibe. Highly recommend the scallops, ravioli, and the limoncello dessert! So delicious!!
Best Italian restaurant around! Everything about it was great. Quaint, out of the way, yet off a main street. Great for special occasions and dining with special friends. Unbelievable food, drink and ambiance!
Great as usual
Couldn’t have asked for better food or experience. Serenaded by an incredible singer while dining on delicious Italian food to celebrate my Italian father’s birthday. Will be back for other special occasions (and likely not even for an occasion!)
Excellent in every way except when the guitarist plays. The room is so small that he interferes considerably with table conversation. And trust me I’ve heard better musicianship at a 9th grade audition. No one would ever leave there thinking, “If only they had a mediocre-talent singer/guitarist playing!” Skip the musician and it would be perfect!
This is truly real Italian restaurant. If someone is looking for real Italian, this is the place.
Good food, good service. Thanks,
One of our favorite restaurants in the Pacific Northwest.
Excellent food and service, reminds me of the neighborhood restaurants in NYC.
Went last night for a birthday celebration. Had read it changed ownership so we were a bit nervous about it. Rick, the new owner met us as we entered and it was awesome from there on out! Food we all agreed was phenomenal and our waitress was so nice! The icing on the cake was Tony is still there with his impressive Italian music and incredible voice and repertoire! This place is still magic!!!! Thanks Rick!
Amazing, such good food. Perfect for a special occasion
Our favorite Italian restaurant! Super delicious food and a place where we will always bring friends. We are pampered. The cognac sauce it to die for as is the balsamic glaze.
The food is rich and delicious.
Ambience, Food and Service experience is always Excellent!
