コヴェント・ガーデンのモンマス・ストリートにあるMon Plaisirは、半世紀以上にわたり首都ロンドンの誇り高き小さなフランスとしてロンドンで最も長く営業している有名フレンチレストランです。数十、数百回とプロポーズの場として、また初デートやその後のデート、記念日のお祝いに幾度となく使われてきたロマンチックな場所です。1940年代のViala兄弟による買収以来、ユニークなフランスの魅力を持つMon Plaisirはロンドン社交界の有力者をもてなす場としてますます有名になりました。Mon Plaisirには、40年代から変わらないメインダイニングルームや、リヨネーの娼家から救い出したピュータートップのバーのあるラウンジなど、異なる内装の4部屋があります。Mon Plaisirは実に伝統的なものからモダンなコンセプトのものまで、世界的に有名なフランス料理のメニューをパリの街角で見られるようなスタイリッシュな形で提供しています。

                                                                                                              Having been to Mon Plasir in the past, was keen to return as memories were good. However, it turns out there has been a change of ownership apparantly. And a big change to the menu too. And extraordinarily, we booked in 5.45 expecting it to be heaving, but it was deserted. And remained very very quiet. The food was fine, all very pleasant but small portions and therefore fairly pricey for what you got. Service was good, but there was hardly anyone else to serve so that's understandable. Staff were charming. But frankly if they are to survive, they need to rethink the menu and prices. That said, there seemed to be a fairly good value set pre theatre menu. But we ate a la carte as we had time. So, disappointing. I wish them well, but they will need to improve.

                                                                                                              We had the same very enjoyable experience as we do every time we eat here. Delicious brasserie food, an interesting wine list and friendly service.

                                                                                                              Food was nice except for the duck appetizer. It was so dry so tasteless. We ordered scallops and gambas that was nice and beef tartare which was also good.

                                                                                                              Food excellent. Not all specials available though. Service friendly if a little slow. Noise of dumb waiter moving up and down was ridiculous and excruciating. Ambience in general a little deflated. Decent value for money.

                                                                                                              As we have now come to expect from Mon Plaisir, we received a warm welcome with attentive but unfussy service. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and we were allowed time and space to chat and relax well after we’d finished our meals. This place is a complete gem!

                                                                                                              Really enjoying dining here. I ordered the seabass along with a side of thin chips and creamy spinach and everything was delicious. I would definitely go here again. The service was good too.
