Take a stroll down Monmouth Street, London and you'll discover a little piece of England that will remain forever French. Mon Plaisir, London's oldest Family run French Restaurant, has been a purveyor of the finest French cuisine for over half a century. The entente cordial hits you as you enter, and the French atmosphere is as thick as the waiters French accents. You'll find yourself surround by wonderfully original French artefacts, you could find yourself leaning against the pewter topped bar which once graced the lounge of a Lyonnais brothel.

                                                                                                              Food was nice except for the duck appetizer. It was so dry so tasteless. We ordered scallops and gambas that was nice and beef tartare which was also good.

Noise of dumb waiter moving up and down was ridiculous and excruciating. Ambience in general a little deflated. Decent value for money.

                                                                                                              As we have now come to expect from Mon Plaisir, we received a warm welcome with attentive but unfussy service. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and we were allowed time and space to chat and relax well after we’d finished our meals. This place is a complete gem!

I ordered the seabass along with a side of thin chips and creamy spinach and everything was delicious. I would definitely go here again. The service was good too.

                                                                                                              My father first brought me to Mon Plasir 55 years ago. I have been visiting ever since. It is as good as always. Brilliant food and service and a wonderful atmosphere. Food fads come and go but for people who love traditional French food in a traditional environment you can’t beat this restaurant.
