About
Overall we thought the food waa bland, lacking flavor. We even asked for some salt and lemon to add to the guacamole we ordered. The part of the experience that was most disappointing was that we made a reservation well in advance and then was placed in the far back table with many other tables open along the way. Lastly, valet service was very slow on both the arrival and departure.
Great atmosphere and drinks. We like to come for brunch because the atmosphere is so nice in the back patio area during the day. Wish there was just a bit more selection for brunch items, it is kind of limited. Also the name "piece of the pie" sounded like it was a quiche and turned out to be a whole pizza. It was delicious but not what we were expecting. The soy chorizo burrito was just OK. My Eggs Benedict was delicious but there was only one option on the menu---it would have been nice to have a few different types of benedicts to choose from.
Always an amazing experience at Mohawk Bend. Works great for groups with difference food preferences/requirements. The cocktails (and their names) rival any bar in the city. I’ve spent many a birthdays here. One of my all time faves.
Excellent vegan and vegetarian choices. The food was delicious
Everything was great, except the bathrooms were straight-up gross. I hope it was a one time thing because it really ruined the otherwise great experience. Dudes - clean ‘em up!!!!
The food was pretty good, but the service was terrible. We had three different servers, and they weren’t attentive, had TERRIBLE attitudes, and brought us items we didn’t order on several occasions.
Great birthday meal. Staff very accommodating for our expanding party
Exceptionally long wait for the food and then when it finally arrived it was cold. Kids’ pizza was terrible- very undercooked. The beer was good won’t rush back anytime soon. Disappointing— I used to really like this place
Great decor and ambiance. The mezcal cocktail I had was so delicious! I also recommend the short rib dish. Excellent!
I come here somewhat often, so I’ll chalk this up as a one off. Food was simply not good. Fried chicken sandwich tasted like it’d been sitting out all day. Batter was burnt and the chicken was really dry.
We were looking for a lively place with great food and drinks, kid-friendly but still feeling hip, to meet an old friend while we were visiting LA--Mohawk Bend was perfect. The pizzas were fantastic: great flavors, perfect crust, high quality ingredients. Incredible local beer selection, I was sending photos of the draft list to my beer nerd friends. When the bill came we were kind of shocked how low it was, and had to double check that they charged us right. Absolutely will go again next time I'm in LA.
The Angry Vegan pizza (added vegan pepperoni), the artichoke tacos, the chili fries with avocado and the drinks were delicious! We are coming back again as soon as possible.
Great for families as lots of space so you don’t feel like you’re disturbing other diners. Really cool, you can tell it used to be a theatre and it’s amazing to see.
The cauliflower appetizer was delicious! Their fried chickpeas wonderful! Vegan cheese pizza superb with a thin crust! They also have delicious guacamole and chips. They have wonderful kombucha on tap
I love this restaurant! The back room has fabulous lighting and a great ambiance. The food is always delicious - the cauliflower! Always spot on!!! The staff is sweet and accommodating- great suggestions for our party!
Second time here. Caught happy hour which was awesome as they have $2 off every one of their 60+ draft beers. Food is amazing - whether vegan or vegetarian or neither. Love the back room with the two story high ceiling and old brick walls.
Everything about our meal at Mohawk Bend was perfect -- great food - great service - excellent drinks.
Great atmosphere. Food and drinks were delicious. Staff were super friendly and efficient.
Birthday brunch.
Food and service were excellent!
Food and drinks were delicious. Patio seating perfect for a nice sunny day.
Dinner was a great experience, wait staff was friendly and very helpful as well as knowledgeable. Daughters birthday here was very enjoyable, appreciate the vegan/vegetarian choices. Will not hesitate to come here again.
It's been awhile since we've been to Mohawk Bend, but they are still just as sharp and delicious as ever! Always a fave.
Really enjoyed this restaurant. Highly recommend. Great atmosphere
Was not pleased with the service as our waiter forgot our order. We were comp for our first round of drinks for the inconvenience, but we we are still dissatisfied. Food was alright, nothing to brag about. The place looked amazing and they do have great selection of beers.
I made a reservation for six at 3pm on a Saturday. we were squeezed in with uneven tables even though there were tables available that just needed to be cleared. Then we were given menus for Brunch that ended at 3pm and were told that between 3 and 4 only a few items were available. Not happy since we came here for the varied selection. Not the fault of the service staff but a heads up when the reservation was made would have been helpful.
My daughter is vegan and had wanted to go for a long time so we went on her birthday. They also serve non vegan food. The building is fabulous- old with a great history. Service was not as attentive as it could have been considering our time was at 9 and a lot of the people had cleared or were close to leaving. We shared vegan and non vegan food and all agreed it was a disappointment. Execution and flavor need work.
I'm obsessed with this restaurant. From Sunday brunch to Saturday evening date night, I love coming here for any occasion. The food comes out super quick and they have an extensive beer menu. Also, I got a margarita after my beer and it was delicious - so you just can't go wrong.
Booked this reservation in advanced for an end of vacation outing with coworkers, based off of online reviews and pictures of the place. The buffalo cauliflower was a good appetizer, but that’s pretty much where it stopped. We got the Brussels sprouts appetizer which had a taste to it similar to cleaning products. The main courses came out and nobody was happy with their meal except for one person who said the pizza wasn’t terrible, but we were starving so we ate anyway. I personally got the grain bowl with vegan almond cheese and again it had a taste that I could only describe as cleaning products, I only took a few bites of that and didn’t bother taking the rest home. My main regret was not speaking up to the server or manager while we were there and sending the dishes back. We didn’t want to create a problem as it was our last night in CA and we just wanted to get out of there. The ambiance was very nice, our server was nice enough. For the amount we spent, it definitely was not worth the money.
WE had a great time, food was great, my party was vegan so they had plenty of food to eat, I had the fish tacos and they were great!
Great ambiance! The area outside and inside and back area are all great spots. The food is good. Some of the sides are very basic. But I would definitely go back.
I have been to Mohawk bend countless times before but this most recent visit was really disappointing. I don’t know if it’s because it was dine la week or if it was because it was football Sunday but my food was not what I was expecting. The buffalo cauliflower was perfect, but the fried chicken sandwich was dry and over cooked, part of the skin were even burnt and too crispy. Also the fries were cold. I will still go back because I’ve had other better experiences, so I’m willing to give them another chance.
Have always loved this place, go try! Love the beer selection and vegan and kid friendliness.
Great for groups! There were 9 of us and we each enjoyed the Dine LA menu and had a great time all around. Wine and beer selection is great and the back room with natural light makes the dining experience top notch!
delayed service (took one hour for food to come out, it was a busy Friday night) but very nice staff. great ambiance. would still come back!
Food was excellent beer was awesome. Our server was grest
Dine LA Review:
Brussels sprouts - undercooked, difficult to digest
Crab cakes - delicious
The Big Mohawk burger - excellent
Cauliflower steak - undercooked, hard to cut
Cookie pie - odd, like cornbread with five chocolate chips in it
S'mores - smaller version of the dessert, marshmallows cooled too fast in porcelain dish
Service was great but food was sub par. I think the kitchen was having an off day. Sent the steak back for being raw (it was even cold) and it came back over cooked. Other dishes were OK but very oily. Again, it could have been an off day.
Great re-use of a historic building. Nice menu. Food was good.
Mohawk Bend is beautiful - went for Saturday brunch and it wasnt too crowded or loud. Bloody Mary was a little too spicy. Food was good but not unique enough to justify the price in my opinion. Service is great.
