Our waitress was very cold. We felt like an inconvenience. All of our entree’s were red meat and not one was cooked to proper temperature. They were all beyond rare. For the price it was very disappointing. It was not a busy night. They also do not give you a proper steak knife. I will say the Wellington appetizer was excellent. For a $300 bill we were not wowed. We were celebrating a birthday and wished we had chosen somewhere else.
Great place. A little cold
The menu descriptions were incredible, but what came out of the kitchen didn’t live up to them. Also, service was spotty/slow.
Don’t get the carbonara. The ramen and the lamb were wonderful. The gin cocktail with cream was superb!
One of my new favorite restaurants in Breckenridge! The duck was amazing!! Service was great and the prices didn’t make you cringe!
Excited to go back and do happy hour!!
The food and service are great! The atmosphere is very welcoming. I feel that the prices are too high compared to their competition in town.
I would recommend the bar for an excellent bourbon selection.
Amazing food, wine, drinks, bar - enjoyed our evening
Mussels were delicious and my wedge salad was good. My son’s ramen was delicious but a bit pricey for basically soup. Great service!
The food is great the personnel is friendly and the atmosphere is lively. It's definitely one of our favorite places in Breckenridge. Plus - their mixologist makes interesting cocktails that are half price at happy hour!!!
Great place. Little drafty and we were in the middle of the restaurant. Touch pricey but not bad
Really cute place with a great sounding menu. We, unfortunately, experienced execution that was below expectations. Lamb was tough and risotto was sticky. Fish special was quoted at one price but we were charged $6 more. Unexpected $4 upcharge for local bourbon over Buffalo Trace.
Good Food and a great atmosphere, with less than stellar service for the price and ambiance.
Our reservation didn't show up on their end in the open table app and they quickly accommodated my family and I. Everything was great.
Had a reservation for 8:15, did not get seated on time. Had to wait 25 minutes. Food is good, nothing outstanding. Do charge a surcharge of 4%.
Couldn't make a simple substitution. Our server was very good, not his fault. Food was good.
Food was excellent - hard to find good braised lamb shank and it was excellent.
Good food, good environment. A bit on the pricy side for what you get, but good food.
Great meal! Beautiful decor. The elk, mussels, hamachi and portabella mushroom bruschetta were fantastic! Service a bit off (missing service wear several times, slow drink delivery) but overall a very nice experience. We would definitely recommend this place and would return.
High-end restaurant in a quaint mountain town. Highly recommended!
What a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner!! Service was spectacular, food was interesting and delicious.
Went here for Christmas Eve dinner. The food and cocktails were great but our server was a bit slow.
I have dined at Modi’s many times and have always looked forward to coming back, but not this time. The food was horrible and the presentation even worse! My husband’s wedge salad looked like the scrapings from other plates. My carbonara was tasteless and had what looked like cooked (but stone cold) cherry tomatoes stuck on the side—I kept wondering what the chef was trying to say through their food??? While the server was friendly enough, he was poorly trained, reaching across the table with little concern for glasses etc, clueless about the wine list, etc, etc. we also were seated in a cramped space in the upstairs hallway despite having made the reservation more than a month in advance. Also, the 4 percent added to the check so that they could pay the staff a living wage was offensive—just pay the staff a living wage!!!! Raise your price, make the portions smaller, or whatever, but don’t try to guilt the patron into doing what you should be doing as an employer. Overall, a horrible dining experience that has forced me to cancel any future plans to dine at Modi’s which was one of my very favorite Breckenridge restaurants. So sad!!
Unfortunately my experience at Modi’s was not great. Cold soup, no soup spoon, undercooked steak, no steak knife and undercooked potatoes.
We arrived half an hour early and found two seats at the bar which is quite cool. They have everything and can make anything. We should have stayed there and let the bartenders serve us, but there was a large loud group of young people celebrating the birthday of one of the restaurant employees and they were kinda roudy. So we allowed the host to seat us in their upstairs balcony. Immediately I could tell it was going to be a challenging evening because there were two large tables with families and little kids and the place looked like a bomb went off. Food on the floor, not just around the kids tables, but all over. Nope, they never did clean it up even after the families left. Our waiter was ok, not the greatest. He did not seem to understand the concept of checking back with us to see if everything was good with our meals. I ordered a glass of wine, truly the most expensive one they have at over $20 for the glass and it came in a stemless glass. It seemed strange to me that that particular wine would be served that way especially considering they have stemware all over the place. I guess because my wife and I were seated in the dirty kiddie loft that that was ok with them. Our appetizer was the mushroom crostini which was quite good. Light and flavorful. I ordered the ribeye steak and I must say it was an extreme disappointment. It was bone in which was not mentioned in the description. I don’t mind that and probably would have ordered it anyway, but the preparation was way off. Chewy, not tender and literally swimming in the hunters gravy they served with the largest pieces of under cooked carrots I have ever been served. It felt as if they were going for kind of a roast beef type of dinner. Not at all what I wanted to be sure. I would have sent it back, but our waiter literally never checked back on us. He also did not seem to notice or care that I didn’t eat 3/4 of it. We left telling ourselves that we wasted $250. We will not return
No host/hostess for 10 min. Wait staff didn’t care. Saw a number of people waiting at hostess stand. Didn’t have our reservation. It was our anniversary. Got seated anyway. Ordered drinks. Took 35 min to get our drinks. We were able to order drinks, order appetizers, order our main, before our drinks arrived. Food was great. Mood was ruined. We are not picky but we do know how restaurants can run and how things can go wrong. But this was ridiculous. Tuesday night. Busy, but not that busy. Front of the house and staff, bar not working as a team at all in this place.
so hit or miss here. sometimes it's amazing and sometimes not so great. service was mediocre and food lacked something this time. Normally a go-to for breck. just not this time
Highly recommend the medallions. They were excellent! Also the jalapeno mango margarita if you like alcoholic beverages. We were a party of 6 and ae loved all our dishes.
Modis places itself on par with places like Relish. But it isn’t.
Bar area is cool. Actually has good origi
Food was great, special salmon one of best meals I’ve had in a while. Cauliflower app also delicious. Service very good and patient with our 3 young kids!
Thanksgiving dinner for family
Went for Thanksgiving. Good food, nice ambience. But, I ordered the house wine and got charged for an expensive wine that was $8 more. That left a bad taste in our minds....was hard getting waitress attention too....so didn't deal with it, and instead leaving that information here.
Great place to eat in Breckenridge, staff is really friendly and the food was delicious, especially the mussels
There were several disappointing things I could share about our meal, but the most disappointing was the high prices and then they charged excessively for every little thing. They charged for a small side of Fig jam that came with one of our meals and then charged $9 for a side of bread.
Good food, but service was lacking due to intermittent nature and higher priority on pushing drinks etc. it’s more expensive than what I expected and they have surcharges to cover healthcare and plate split charges of $10. At their current prices, they should be able to cover the healthcare surcharge on their own without singing the customer. Finally, at 20 degrees outside, they could have been more mindful of turning up the heat inside. Look around and everyone is bundled up eating dinner.....gusts of cold entering upon entry/exit. To add, we sat toward middle back ground floor, yet found it enough to disrupt our dining experience. Overall, we felt this restaurant to be more transaction focused than creating a memorable and good dining experience.
We love this place. We've been there often, and their fish specials are usually a highlight of the menu. My son loves the ramen, too, which they have become known for. Even though it's on the kids menu, the cheese curds are delicious.
Excellent atmosphere! Romantic! Good very good ! Service great ! Beautiful restaurant loved everything about it ! Highly recommend!
The best of breckenridge
The food was really good, but a bit pricey. The decor was fun and inviting, but it was a bit noisier than what is ideal. Overall, a very positive experience.
Server was excellent and Billy had a great chat with us about Breckenridge. Love this place. Thank you.
