Delicious food great presentation terrific
This restaurant has great ambiance and good food. They have a large roof top deck off the second floor. The second floor has interior seating well situated around an artistic staircase and bannister that leads up to the floor. The dishes were unique and delicious.
excellent - our favorite restaurant in Breckenridge
This is a great restaurant with fantastic food that changes every time we visit. The drinks are surprising (mango jalapeño margarita!) and diverse. It’s not cheap, but you get a great experience, food, and ambiance. The service is always top notch. Highly recommend.
After reading recent reviews regarding service, I almost cancelled our reservation- but I’m so glad I didn’t! The food was delicious and our server, Sean, was attentive and efficient. 5-star dinner from start to finish.
Great food! Nice quiet atmosphere. Recommend the upstairs patio.
Nice outdoor dining on main st in Breckenridge. Food was good. We shared a bunch of appetizers.
The flower less chocolate cake was not chocolatie somehow.
Our food was phenomenal, our issue was the service. We were seated promptly, and ordered drinks within the first 10-15 minutes (initially our party had to use the restroom and none of the upstairs toilets were flushing). It took over 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive with no table touches by staff to let us know there was a delay, but when they arrived he did apologize that it was his fault and they should not have taken that long. Not a deal breaker, we get that you’re busy. But we had noticed other larger tables seated after us who had ordered and received their drinks from the same server much faster. We received our drinks, promptly put in appetizers and had the same experience. By the time we were getting our appetizers, several other tables with the same server had already ordered and received both their appetizers and entrees. We watched as our server took other tables within his section’s orders, as food and appetizers were brought, etc and we were not even asked about our entree order, nor given additional water or asked if we wanted additional drinks. We finally asked the server if he could put in our entrees and nearly 40 minutes later with no update as to why we had no food, we asked if he could check on the food. He returned about 10 minutes later to tell us he had put in the order wrong... again, and that it would be out in 5 minutes. To no one’s surprise, it wasn’t. By the time we received our entrees, we had been seated at our table for 2 hours and 10 minutes. No manager checked in, and the waiter said he would take care of it on the bill.. we were fairly kind and patient up until the end with the entrees, but watched several tables go through two sets of diners from start to finish in the same time it took for us to receive our food. “Taking care of it” on the bill was 20% off the entree and $3 off the cocktail. The entrees should have been comped and a manager should have been present. Food tasted great, but our waiter outright failed our table.
After doing research for where to have my wife’s birthday celebration, we chose Modis. They’re online reservation system was great and we had a table waiting for us. Immediately upon seating us,, they sat a large family of 5 within close proximity to us and then another group of 6 who were loud and doing shots. In the age of Covid-19, Modis should do better about spacing.
Our waitress was very good but the kitchen did not follow our requests pertaining to preparation. We asked for no jalapeños in two dishes both of which had to be remade. The waitress apologized, had the meals remade and comped those. I did tell the manager about the issue. I complemented our waitress and suggested that the serving staff best make sure orders are correct before serving them. The real kicker was when I got home to review the tab- and this is my fault for not being more diligent at the restaurant- I was charged $11 for a glass of iced tea - plain iced tea. Shame on me for lack of diligence- Shame on Modis for their lack of customer care.
I am very sorry to hear about your experience, I will absolutely be looking into your experience and your bill. If you would like to discuss this further and so I can refund your bill for the ice tea please call me at 970.453.4330 and ask for Teryn Guadagnoli. As to the table distancing, we are incredibly diligent about table placement and we do our best to keep table 6' feet apart unfortunately we do have guests that do move the tables they sit at.
This was the worst service we had during our entire stay in Breckenridge. It was never clear who our waiter was. Drinks came out at different times. Crab cake appetizer was good and quick, dinner was 45 minutes after the appetizer. The salmon was beyond rare - it was raw. The ribeye was covered in sauce and was served with a dull knife. Our plates weren’t cleared till after we paid the bill. It just seemed haphazard at best.
Some of our food was great. The ramen noodles were very overdone and chewy. The steak was well cooked and so was the salmon.
Sensational, creative menu - loved every aspect of the evening for two. Drink menu was outstanding, with a lovely martini and a smoked old fashioned; delectable soup and the entrees were spectacular. A must-visit for Breckenridge.
Ramen was on point
Poor service. Never even ordered food bc of service. Super frustrating.
Great food and atmosphere. Fabulous cocktails! Service was excellent.
I remembered the food being better last time. Server was amazing. Wish the desserts had descriptions. I would not have ordered the cake I did if there was information on it.
Had a great experience dining at Modis despite the COVID issues. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Thanks for a great dinner
Handled very safely and food was creative and delicious!
Excellent food and attentive staff. Wonderful art by Voytek too. Really good times
Great food and service! Mussels were some of the best we've ever had and drinks were delicious. Definitely recommend.
Still great service despite the pandemic
We ordered just appetizers, drinks, and desserts
Excellent as always
Highly recommend reservations
Just as good as we remember it being! They did a great job creating a safe social distance dining experience for everyone.
Mussels were amazing!
It was 6 years between our visits. Our visit 6 years ago was filled with creative dishes that delighted. This time was still good, but unremarkable. The food tasted great, but compared to the first time, felt like the chef sorta gave up on what they were doing and just settled for good food.
Had I not had my first experience there, I probably would have thought nothing of it, but as it was, I'm not sure I'd go back.
Delicious bone in chicken, salmon, and mixed drinks. Great service too!
The service and the setting were spot on. It’s located on main in Breckenridge, in a cool older building, the patio upstairs is very charming and lends for a nice evening. We were disappointed in the food, I had the Ramen, it had corn in it. I have Ramen all over the country but never did it have corn. Just weird. My wife had the filet was cooked properly but neither of us cared for the wine reduction sauce, we did like there pricing special for happy hour. Give it a try just pass on the ramen.
Sam was amazing and food was incredible!
Great specialty cocktails!
Kudos to the re-opening team! Menu is limited but good choices and in our party of 4 , everyone was very happy with their meal. Thumbs up!!!
Made a last minute change to eat at Modis for my wife's birthday.
We had reserved seats at the bar but ended up in a regular table upstairs. Not a big deal but if you offer high tops and bar seating as an option I'd expect that to be honored. As it happened the table was great and worked out well for us.
We ordered cauliflower, bahn mi and mussels. I would order the mussels again.
Then chicken and the ramen bowl. We'd order the chicken again though the dish could use less salt.
Apple Cobbler and Creme Brulee for dessert. Both were passable.
For the money we've definitely had better food but this is Breck and so we expect a premium on the price.
Overall we'd give this place another go, atmosphere is good, the drinks a decent, the service was good and the location was a big reason we chose Modis.
The one 'major' let down was that we indicated we had a birthday but it wasn't until we were leaving it was mentioned at all. When you drop $200 on dinner for 2 it's not unusual to get a dessert or a glass of something on the house but at the very least when you order dessert stick a candle in it, no??
Food was great but one of the staff who introduced herself as by saying it was her restaurant was not very friendly. We were trying to figure out the silverware situation and she seemed frustrated. This happened a couple of times. Surprising for an owner. Otherwise it was great.
Despite COVID food was great and service was excellent.
The circumstances of dining during Covid were amazing. The staff is and was so kind and helpful. I love all the creativity in the dishes and the flavors.
The ramen was absolutely out of this world and the service was great!
Loved this place! Food was excellent. Cocktails were excellent. Service was excellent. The trifecta of what you want and expect when you choose a restaurant. Cheers!
Were closed and still let me book at table
I am very sorry, we are not sure how you were able to book a table. We have contacted Opentable numerous times about this glitch. I hope you will give us a chance and again I am very sorry.
Incredible job making sure everyone felt safe. All employees in masks and following all the rules. And food was incredible as always.
Always a treat to get into Modis for dinner. Outstanding cocktail menu. Perfectly cooked steaks and pork loin/chops. Salads are fresh and wish I could source such beautiful lettuce and produce at home! Thank you!
Perfectly ok, nice ambiance but not worth the money. They charge 10 dollars for bread and additional 10 dollars to share food with people at the table. Has the fish special and it was good, not great. Scallops were excellent. Just don’t think it’s worth the big costs. All main courses are over 30 dollars for decent mountain food.
