Led by chef and owner Hector Diaz, Modesto features a farm to table approach to upscale wood-fired Italian. The menu changes twice daily and includes a variety of fresh seafood, fine meats, and house made pastas. Pizzas are hand-tossed and cooked in a wood fired oven made in Italy. To compliment your meal, our bar offers over 30 exclusively Italian wines as well as a dynamic list of classic and cutting edge cocktails. Desserts are made from scratch, including our famous tiramisu, and we proudly serve SRO Coffee.

    We arrived for a 745 reservation, and we were seated at 7:50. We watched as several other tables were seated in our section. One table in that section was halfway through their meal and their waitress came to their table regularly. No one else got served in that section: not a water drop off, not a greeting, not an apology. Nothing. at 8:10, we walked back to the front and told the hostess we were leaving as we had not seen a waiter. Her comment was, oh we’ve had a lot of trouble since it started raining. I have been to Modesto many times as a local. I assume I will try it at some point in the future. Very disappointing performance.

    Halfway into our delicious entrees, my husband who is 85 with esophagus issues, choked on a small piece of veal and rushed outside to cough it up. He fell and I saw our waitress Veronica immediately making a call to 911. When I went back into the restaurant to pay the bill before driving to ER, Veronica said it had been paid! This was our first visit to Modesto and we were impressed with the selections, presentations, ambiance and the genuine care and compassion that everyone showed us.

    Great overall experience and delicious meal. Great food portions and delicious drinks. We ordered from the daily specials which did not disappoint. The pork chop and tile fish dishes were fantastic.
