Excellent service and ambience but the food missed the mark.
We ordered the grits, calamari, gnocchi and apple pie.
The apple pie and calamari were great.
The grits felt as though Sriracha which was a bit off putting. The gnocchi had too much mint as a garnish which also ruined the entree.
Our server was also very lovely but I don't think we'd return because the value of the food.
Food was ok, salty. Service was great.

Kale salad was ok. Underwhelming to be honest.
Hominy grits were on point, lacking a enough acidity. Overall a delicious dish, just rich.
Calamari fricassee was way too salty. The cook on the calamari was unreal, the dish wants to work but just too much seasoning, we ate it as we were hungry and the calamari had an incredible texture.
Cavatelli was way too salty. Had to send it back.
Second cavatelli was delicious, the ricotta was served on the side. Dont think it was the ricotta that caused the salt, may have been a heavy hand if im honest. Texture of pasta both times were on point.
Chocolate mousse was as good as i imagined. Great texture and flavour, praline and cocoa nib were great additions to a classic. Chantilly cream perfectly whipped.
Apple pie to go has been a delight. Inspired an apple pie cookoff in the home next week.

Food and atmosphere were amazing, glad I came back!
The food was delicious. The interior design is very similar with an old restaurant from Palermo. The ambiance was relaxing with great Portuguese Jazz playing in the background. We will return.
We had the “wagyu” truffle tartare, didn’t melt in your mouth as you would expect wagyu to do so. Not even a subtle hint of truffle whatsoever, no flavour. Never dull. The endives were over powering and washed the flavour of the meat out. Also took almost 45 minutes for the appetizer. Served with “sourdough” but more so seemed like a slightly toasted piece of white toast.
We all ordered the beef, as we were extremely hungry. Which took way over an hour for 2 entrees only cooked to medium rare. The cut of steak was tender, however it was ruined with the overpowering taste of soap. The peppercorn sauce had the texture of chalk, again, very soapy taste. The potatoes were soggy and cold. It was the first time I’ve seen my partner literally spit food back onto the plate. 4 of us had one bite each (of two separate dishes) and both were equally as unappetizing.
Also had the ham croquettes, a very small appetizer; however it was tasty. The garlic aioli was a nice compliment with the sweetness of the pork.
Our server was extremely nice and friendly, her service was great. Recommended a very good bottle of wine for the table. The drinks were the only highlight of the meal. However, we were there for nearly two hours waiting for food that was a let down.

Gabriel was our server and he was awesome. My boyfriend is into cocktails and asked him to surprise him a couple times. He was super impressed and really enjoyed Gabriel’s drinks and enjoyed guessing what it was made off. This was very entertaining for our table. The food was awesome, as per usual. The beef tartare - amazing ! We will definitely be dining here again :)

Model Milk never disappoints. The food and service are always exceptional and we are treated like family. We were celebrating an 18th birthday and some complimentary bubbly was brought to our table. We love this restaurant and frequent it as often as we can.
Very helpful and courteous staff. We will definitely be back.

Great food, music and a chill atmosphere!
All the dishes we had were fantastic! Calamari, fried chicken, apple pie! Service was on point… Music played from albums on a record player was terrific… We were sat upstairs in our separate dining area which was much quieter than the regular open space of the lofted restaurant.
Model Milk is our favourite restaurant in Calgary. Despite the COVID restrictions, the service was wonderful and the food was excellent as always. We do miss the specials, rotating menu, and especially the Sunday fixed menu family-style meals. If the menu were more varied, we would be dining at Model Milk monthly even during this pandemic time.
Great place to take my Queen (girlfriend) on her birthday. Friendly and efficient service, great food. We liked the atmosphere, although the music was a wee bit too loud. Thank you!

Been here a couple of times since the end of the second lock down and the reason I chose here is because I knew they would nail it and they did. From the front door, to the food, to the service. If you want the best, most friendly complimenting service ask for Kait! She served us Saturday night, chose our food our cocktails and left us feeling amazing. These guys are nailing it and you should check them out!
The main floor dining room and the loft surrounding it is quite nice. However, we were seated in a “bar” completely removed from the rest of the restaurant. It was up a set a stairs and through a little hallway. We were extremely disappointed in the decor and the ambience, so requested to be seated elsewhere. We have been to the restaurant before and have never encountered this area. Thankfully they were able to accommodate us. I understand seating is a challenge during Covid times, but since the prices are the same everywhere in the restaurant, so should the decor and ambiance be.
Excellent food and service. It was the best food we’ve had so far this year. The truffle pierogis, the cavatelli and the hangar steak were outstanding and the apple pie is classic. Great service and ambiance. Great dinner altogether. Can’t wait to come back.
