Miyako Japanese Restaurant
My mother started a family tradition of spending March 3rd, “Girl’s Day”, eating at Miyako. This was her favorite restaurant to eat Sukiyaki. We now continue her tradition and also commemorate her passing by dining here.
Good; liked it
Awesome as ever
This was our second visit. Celebrating anniversaries. Great food, service, and atmosphere.
Will be one of our favorites.
Miyako is a simple and outstanding place to dine. From the first time dining here and each and every time I dine here the service is amazing and the food is great. Family/friend oriented and quiet environment. If you eat here on a Friday and request for cabana seating you can watch the firework being fired at the Hilton Hawaiian village. I highly recommend anyone to eat here. Thank you to the manger Mike and his awesome staff, you guys are always on point with the service.
Overall we had a really nice meal. The food was excellent. The service was quite slow even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and it took a long time to clear our table. Everyone was very pleasant though and it was quite an enjoyable meal. We ordered the sashimi, fried oysters, tempura, the agedashi and wagyu beef.
This restaurant is one of local people’s favorite place. We also visit there regularly, so staffs are very friendly and their Japanese foods are always best in Honolulu. Specially, Misoyaki Butter fish is awesome. Please try it. Early bird special available. Parking validation available. Just 5 minutes by taxi from center of Waikiki. Kaimana beach locates in front of this hotel, new Otani that is why sunset evening dinner is best. Reservation recommended.
The entire staff was attentive, helpful, and friendly. The food was very good. I would recommend this place to others.
We were disappointed with the menu choices and the room had no ambience or good feeling at all. There were only a few dinners & it felt quite lonely. In fact after looking at the menu we didn't order & left
Good ocean views, seating and service.
I mentioned that we were celebrating my husband’s birthday.
I was disappointed that there was no acknowledgment of his special day.
The food here was excellent and the ambiance was relaxing. I would dine here again in a heartbeat.
This was once the place to go for a refined kaiseki. The price fixe menu is now just a bland reminder of the past.
always reliable for good service and first class teishoku.
wonderful sunset to end 2019, mahalo!
Lovely service and good food
We were pleasantly surprised with our experience at Miyako!
Michael, Host, was very accommodating with our request for a private Cabana which made our evening very special.
Our server Michelle was very informative describing what we were to expect with the prix fixe dinner.
Michelle also suggested the Oka Sake which is now my favorite.
The entire experience at Miyako exceeded our expectations!
Sunset dinner is our favorite! Cabana seating is amazing for a romantic dinner.
Beautiful view. Seafood was fresh and tasty.
I had the special Restaurant Week special menu with sake pairing, which was very nice but not excellent. The sirloin steak entree was a bit rubbery and quite chewy. The sashimi was okay; the tempura was better. The matcha pudding with azuki bean sauce was interesting, but without the sauce would have been quite bland. Service was excellent, and because it was not crowded, the ambiance was excellent. Although I cannot give a rating of 5, it is definitely a high 4.
Nice date night spot! Would recommend to everyone!
Our server dressed in a beautiful kimono was thoughtful, attentive and hospitable. The chef’s choice dishes were delicious. The sunset was a real treat for my out of town guest. Will certainly return again.
John was fantastic! Make our 30th memorable. The view was amazing. Food authentic Japanese.
We lived in Japan for 4 years and was pleased to experience the best quality and authentic Japanese food while enjoying the ocean view, sunset & great service. Will definitely return.
Server was a bit annoying, telling a joke that is way out of line and a bit offensive.
Our favorite restaurant on Oahu. The food and service are exceptional.
Outstanding, authentic Japanese cuisine along with an extensive sake selection. We always look forward to ding at Miyako when we visit Oahu.
Our first time there with lots of anticipation.
Food quality & presentation we're excellent.
However, service was poor. Food for both of us didn't come from the kitchen simultaneously. The staff was short handed and seemed disjointed. No one was managing them.
Unfortunately, no return visit for us. There are other options.
The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were the only customers until one other table came in, but there was an event going on in the conference room. Our complaint is with the server. Polite, but brought our salad out while we were still eating two orders of sashimi. So we moved the sashimi aside and were eating our salads, and then the server brought out the steak. The steak, the most expensive item on the menu, was delivered on a sizzling platter with sautéed onions and corn. We have never seen corn served in a Japanese restaurant. But, we were still eating our salad. He offered to take it back and we agreed. Then when we had finished our salad he brought back the same steak. We were not able to finish the sashimi and were not allowed to take it home due to a restriction written in the menu that says anything uncooked could not be taken home. I don't believe I've ever seen language like this in any restaurant and it is rather ridiculous considering how we were rushed. It's really a shame. We've eaten here for years but I don't think we'll be back.
There wasn’t much as far as ambience and the food was just okay. The cabana was nice but not very memorable
For one thing, there was no valet parking and my husband had to drive around 45 minutes to find parking. Our reservation was for 6:30 pm but couldn't get in until 7:00 pm because of the parking. Waiter was friendly and service was adequate. My husband ordered the prix fixe menu for $57 which I
understand changes monthly. He felt the portions were very small but tasty. I loved my prix fixe menu for $55 which was the boiled butterfish. It came with a couple pieces of hamachi and sashimi, shrimp tempura & vegetables, pickled bean sprouts, miso soup and rice. Everything was delicious and though it was small portions, it was very filling. Our meals included ice cream too. View is outstanding, but room is very small and not much privacy. They also give a kamaaina discount which is always a plus!
Staff was friendly and service was very good. Food was outstanding, but try the Chef's Prix Fixe Dinner.
We came for a birthday celebration and the service was extremely rude.
Went there for my wife birthday she was impressed with food and the view at the cabana area. Chef special of the day was off the hook. Nice view were sunset go down behind waianae mountain range. Nice presentation, food was excellent. Service was excellent as well. I will definitely come back again.
My favorite Authentic Japanese restaurant with great ocean view❣️😋
