It was very nice. The food was good, but not as good as last time. My filet was a little over cooked and my husbands rib eye was as well. They were both still good though.
Truly outstanding, one of the best restaurants in California if not the United States, so much history and architecture
We have been to the Mission Inn Restaurant many times over the years. The food is generally pretty good, at prices you'd expect. This time the experience was a little off, as we were seated in a cold draft. I actually had to go back to my room to put on a coat. They have a nice variety of price points. I had the penne with spicy Italian sausage and my wife had the club sandwich. Both were very nice. They also had a decent house wine that was affordable. The cheese plate, however, was a major disappointment. The waiter had told us that there were three kinds of cheese, but there were only two, a goat cheese and a blue. The blue cheese was fairly mild, but came in an enormous chunk. I couldn't eat it all. The waiter helped make up for it by going and retrieving some brie from the kitchen. It was supposed to have been included. His actions largely made up for the inconvenience.
We were excited to have dinner here for the first time. The food was good. We enjoyed it however the service was bad. We waited a over 45 for our steaks. Then when we waited 15 min for a dessert menu so our waiter seemed upset that we asked for the dessert menu. I was never asked if I wanted another glass of wine. I had to drink my husbands water because I was out of wine and water. And our waiter wasn’t even the one to close the night. He sent another waiter to give us our check and say goodnight. We were very unhappy with how we were treated. Won’t be coming back.
Ask to be seated away from an air vents! Our food got cold on our playes!
Very great experience. Food and service top notch.
Wonderful hospitality by the employees. Food was fresh and wonderful.
Great atmosphere and service. The food was good, but not great. Awesome wine list! I'll definitely go back.
The food was excellent but couldn’t hear waiter or talk to partner without leaning over.
Food was awful. Service was average.
For pricier dinner yes, the special Valentine buffet never. You should not offer up later evening reservations when you put food away, before we can sample. We started with the prime rib which was excessively fatty, went back to sample the salmon only to see it and all the salads had already been cleared. Not worth the expense and very disappointing. My husband will be calling the general manager.
Going to a event at fox theater
Had a good time. We enjoyed the lunch, a bit pricy . Way too loud!!!
All though the place was beautiful, the lack of a Valentine’s themed dinner was very disappointing. To top it off our wait staff was very unprofessional and served us cold food. I could understand if it was packed, however due to the rain the venue was very empty and the excuse of it was to busy could not be used in this instance.
Celebrated valentines with my love as we missed our annual anniversary dinner there in December . So I reserved my dinner back in December for this date. Dinner buffet was great as usual but very dissapointed with the seating. We were seated in a overflow room which required you to walk outside in wet cold weather. It absolutely killed the mood of a romantic dinner. I felt that we should have been sat in the original dining room as this had been planned for months, there were several available tables at the time. I told them I would gladly wait to be seated in formal dining area. I was told NO, this is what the Restruant was doing . I did not want to ruin the evening by going back and forth with host regarding seating since he made it clear he would not be seating us in formal dining even though there were open tables.
Food was great but our waiter was a little busy but when he he was there he was attentive
Great food and staff !! Beautiful historic Hotel!! Coming back for sure!!
This was a breakfast for Valentine's Day. To begin, when I arrived to check in for my reservation, the hostess/manager was discussing some log in issue with another employee. I felt she should have just acknowledged me and either asked me for a moment or seated me and my company. After a few minutes she walks away then came back and addressed me. Not a good start.
This restaurant is nice but a little dark so we opted to sit in an area closer to window with better light. The issue in that area was that it was very noisy with employees prepping for a lunch buffet, not very quaint for Valentines Day breakfast, but a nice view of the rain outside. The food was fine, nothing to ravish about. This is a nice place to try at least once for the views of the architecture and tour. Service was okay.
My husband and I celebrated our first Valentine’s Day as a married couole there. We love their pancakes and Fritata. The place was romantic! We would’ve explored mores if nornfor he pouring rain. Because of that, we will definitely be back. Worth the drive indeed!
10/10 will definitely come back! When first arriving, the sheer size and beauty of the Mission Inn was awe-inspiring. Not only that, the outside hall that leads to the Mission Inn Restaurant was gorgeous, romantic, and very welcoming. The lights, decor, pool, and architecture stopped me in my tracks just so I could take it all in! I arrived 30 minutes early to my reservation and was sat at a table immediately which I greatly appreciated. The staff are very friendly and eager to please and the restaurant was so interesting. Murals on the ceiling and the decoration of the tables was done very well. The food was delicious and came in decently large portions. The prices were just as good as the food as I was expecting to pay $100+ for the date and ended up paying $60. Parking was easy to find and was relatively cheap. Wish I could’ve stayed longer! Would definitely recommend and will definitely be coming back!
Worst experience in years. Service slow and inattentive. Three different wine selections from the wine list weren’t available. Food came out one person at a time after a 45 minute wait. All of it was over seasoned. Too much garlic in one dish, too much salt in two others. One edible dish among four choices.
I wrote you a wonderful review but your terrible photo section deleted entire thing. I certainly don't have the time to write it again. Remove that the destructive feature.
Everything was very good. My steak was cooked perfectly as was all of my food. I look forward to going back again.
Food was good. Service was good. The hostess was a bit rude and dismissive and apparently had me as a no-show to our reservation that I made in front of her after she said there was a 45min-1hr wait and I showed her that I had just made a reservation via opentable as it showed there was availability. To which she then showed us to our table.
We had made reservations for 7:30 but arrived early and got seated right away. The meal and service was outstanding. My only suggestion is that portions might be smaller.
My gf and I went for an anniversary date on Monday. The place is sorta pricey but Ill bet you will not regret it. The food is the best I’ve had in a while and my gf said it’s the best steak she’s ever had. She only eats steaks at almost every restaurant. Service was great too and the place has a ton of history so you won’t be bored if you like that sort of place.
We are a Military Family and look forward to our brunch times together when possible.
Best buffet dinning I've had. Huge selection of food. Great table service too.
The Mission Inn restaurant was an excellent choice for a date night. The staff were friendly, quick, professional, and the food was well worth the price.
Food was amazing and the patio seating made for great ambiance. The service was outstanding!
If it is a nice day be sure to sit in the lovely patio.
A wonderful delicious meal!
There was a variety of selections from seafood to meats and potatoes. The shrimp scampi was excellent, but it took such a longer time with the small pan used. Several desserts and cold options as well. It was an Excellent dining experience.
We attended the Sunday brunch celebrating my wife’s birthday. Even though we were approximately 15 minutes late due to parking issues, we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Our servers were prompt and courteous. They took the time to share with us the groupings at the food tables. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and look forward to a return visit
We've always enjoyed the Sunday brunch at the Mission inn, and have had excellent experiences; however this time our waiter seemed to be a little distracted. There seemed to be enough people overseeing the operation, but not enough waiters to keep the patrons well served.
The food was exceptional as always, and the beauty of the place is unique.
It was my wife’s birthday. She had a wonderful time dining there
Lovely ambiance. Food was good but a few mistakes from our order (asked to hold onion, lemon- got both).
Enjoyed outdoor seating. Really nice place.
Great food and atmosphere. Make sure to see the dessert menu, every thing is great.
Wonderful atmosphere, great food, excellent service... could not have asked for better for a reunion with my son and his spouse.
