Food was excellent as always. Service also excellent. Restaurant was full. No empty tables. Yet we did not wait between courses, or for attention. If only they weren’t out of the Turley Zinfandel.

A very nice Valentines Day dinner.

We had told them when we made the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. Everyone we came in contact with wished him a happy birthday. He was also offered a complimentary dessert or after dinner drink. My one complaint was one of the entrees came out lukewarm while the other 2 were hot. Overall though a very nice experience.

Food was delectable. My date loved the gnocchi. I loved the lamb. We both loved the new sparkling honey water. Service was phenomenal. The head waiter was Captain Ron. He and his staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The pastry chef even wrote a nice message in chocolate drizzle on the dessert plate. I heard the owner was on Beat Bobby Flay. I can see why. Overall 5 stars. I recommended it to my parents who are going tonight! Sincerely Yours, Bob S.

Great meal, friendly helpful non instructive service. Ron, our waiter, made the birthday celebration a standout with Italian Prosecco, birthday card and a lovely dessert.

The food was really good. The ambiance in general was charming except we sat at a middle table without a nice view. We will go back again and request a different seat.

6th or 7th visit and the place never disappoints. It is classy without being pretentious and the service is attentive without being obsequious. The food is usually interesting, carefully prepared, and well presented. The sole issue we experienced during our visit was the vegetable and potato side dishes this night just weren’t that good. It wasn’t that they weren’t well prepared only flavorless. No big thing and certainly they won’t keep us away.

My wife and I had our 2 year anniversary at Millwright's and all we can say is "Wow!" Ours server Ron was informative and attentive but not intrusive, he communicated with the chef to makes sure my wife's dietary concerns were worked around so she could dine safely. The food was excellent, better than anticipated (and I had high expectations as they have a reputation for great food), the suggestions for me were spot on. We will definitely be back, Millwright's is high on the list for date night.

Fantastic as always. Scallops were the best I have had in ages (and I love scallops). My wife had a baked cauliflower that was delicious. Wine was excellent. Service extraordinary. Millwright's is alway pricey but well worth it. Only complaint, my soup could have been just a tad warmer for my taste. Will we return? You can bet on it.

Millwright's never fails. The mood is set the second you walk into the door, and we were lucky enough to have a spot right next to the waterfall which looked stunning due to the ice and single digits temp. Our server was super patient with us, never missed a beat and even bantered with us a little. He was also happy to share where they get their coffee from - which is hands down one of my favorite parts of the meal. The food was absolutely impeccable. I got the gnocchi which was tender and pillowy, and he got the agnolotti which was to die for delicious. I got the lamb which was cooked to perfection and his quail was out of this world. The dessert was delectable as well, though if you ever see passionfruit on the menu - definitely get it! It still stands out as my favorite dessert to date. I've never had a bad experience here and I can't imagine I ever will. They're doing something right that a lot of other restaurants could learn from.

Wonderful meal! Our server, Ron, is very friendly and always has wonderful recommendations. This time he convinced us to try the crispy potatoes. My husband didn't want to share they were so good. They were tasty and went really well with my quail. Millwrights has a way with all fowl; if it's a bird, order it. I've never had better chicken, duck, etc. and their quail did not disappoint. I'm so excited it's on their Valentines menu. Ron also had us order the earl grey cloud for dessert. I wouldn't have picked it, and I was so glad we did. The flavors were light and mixed well and did not overwhelm with the earl grey flavor. The textures throughout the dessert were really great as the cloud is a crispy meringue.

Excellent meal . It was Sunday night so there were few people there. There was only one waitress so the service was slow. We were there for three hours. Other than that everything was excellent and we will be back again.

Overpriced. The food presentation is beautiful but we had three different selections that all were mediocre at best. It was also very disappointing to have a wine list that is both considerably over market up charges coupled with the fact that there was little/no mid-priced selections. They try to make it up by having per glass selections (which were fine), but no reason they could not offer more of a selection of bottle choices. Ironically, we spoke with 2 different families/couples about our thoughts - thinking - maybe it was an off night - but they concurred with our comments.

Food was excellent. Indulged in the 7 course sampler. There are essentially 3 rows of tables, I would recommend not sitting in the center row. Felt as if we were always in the way of the wait staff. Our server was very pleasant, but not very attentive. Always had to flag her down to order drinks.

Located in an old mill in Simsbury, CT.
New Years Eve six course dinner was excellent in taste and presentation. Just a little disappointed in the dessert options. Wait staff all very very personable and professional. Downstairs bar area very warm and cozy and main dining room overlooks a river and waterfall- really nice!

Entree was fired too soon and sat in server section next to our table. When appetizers were cleared, next course appeared automatically...egg and sauce was cold, steak was lukewarm, fries were like lava!

Millwright’s is in a beautiful setting to have any meal, but especially nice for brunch, seated by a window. Maybe I had higher expectations based on previous dining experiences there, but this time it was a bit disappointing. The cheese plate was uninspired (as was the Bloody Mary ‘bar’), 3 very basic types of cheese with triangles that were so overly toasted that it crumbled the minute you picked it up, forget about trying to spread any soft cheese on it. The steak and eggs dish was very good, but a bit difficult to cut without a steak knife, which was never offered. The salmon was great, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The Benedict was an interesting presentation - kind of deconstructed on a chunk of delicious bread, with a killer slaw, fabulous brisket and an egg topped with perfect hollandaise. I’d say poached egg but it was way beyond poached, with the yolk completely cooked through. We asked for a side of bacon which never arrived. Our server asked if we’d like fruit for our sparkling water which we said yes, that never arrived either. This restaurant consistently gets high marks and is always in the top 10 in the state. For the most part we did enjoy our visit, and the food, but whoever’s watching the store there needs to up their game a bit and get Millwright’s back to perfect.

Maybe our expectations were to high but overall underwhelmed. The starters were very good, however the main courses we had were rather pedestrian. The salmon was nothing to write home about and the cod could have easily been cooked in my home kitchen.
The service is what saved our experience! The waiter was attentive without hovering and the professionalism was something you don’t see much anymore
