   Excellent food and good service! The down side is, It’s a small open area that gets crowded and can sometimes be hard to hear people at your own table.

   My first experience at Mildred’s was wonderful. I took my wife there on my second visit and we both ordered the Pork Schnitzel. We were unimpressed. My wife was reluctant, but I made a reservation for five of us recently. All of us were very pleased. The Smoked Potato Soup was just outstanding. It was a wonderful experience. We will return.

   It was my birthday and my husband and mine’s anniversary and they did not disappoint. The service was spectacular. The food was amazing and we did not leave disappointed. Yes, it’s a little expensive but it’s very good quality food. The pork chop was divine. I will definitely go back

   Wine selection was excellent. The escargot appetizer was out of this world amazing. My wife enjoyed all the components of her prix fixe dinner, but my soup was too salty to eat. They were great in replacing it for a different option which was much better. I wasn’t a fan of the hen and risotto however. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t great and was a bit of a let down after the fantastic appetizer. Will be going back to try more of their fare. One of the best dining options in Gainesville.

   Everything was fantastic! From the server (Mildred) to the 3-course meals, plus the appetizer. The manager was also very kind to have a pleasant conversation. Great appetizer (crab cakes), great salads, great entrees (hen), and great dessert. We will be back again!

   Good food with many options. The 12% automatic service fee leaves little motivation for staff , which then leads to a smaller tip. Don’t think they will be around in 2026.

   Food was great. The snapper was very well prepared and the pomme frites were delicious. Very homey feel!

   The food is delicious, particularly the veggies. They were happy to accommodate diners with dietary concerns (gluten-free this trip and previously with my vegan sister). The staff are friendly. The interior ambiance is great. They do have a few outside tables but they are right next to the parking lot, so far less formal than the inside. On previous trips the temperature inside was fine, but this week it was a bit warm, so it's possible the AC was struggling. It was actually pretty busy for a Monday night.

    Mildred's Big City Food is SUCH a gem. We loved everything about it. The food was incredible. LOVED the English pea food with creme fraiche, stuffed quail, scallops and last but not least, the tempeh with squash rosotto. Teh desserts were out of this world. We loved all the cakes and wanted to taste all of them. Service was spectacular - just right. Warm, friendly, efficient but not rushed at all. We look forward to returning to this spectacular place. Location is great with ample parking.
