   Showed up for our reservation on 5/29 at 6:30 to sit on the patio. Someone stopped by to drop off water but then 20 minutes passed and the server never came over to acknowledge us. I asked the hostess and another worker if they can send someone our way but after another 10 minutes of waiting while the servers avoided eye contact with us we decided to just leave. Very disappointing but we were able to walk over to Market Tavern and was immediate served. Do yourself a favor and skip this place and go over to market tavern.

   I use to go here weekly. The food was always top notch. Three years ago I moved away and haven’t been back. Came back to see family and we all met here. The food was TERRIBLE! Two people had raw (in the middle) hamburgers, other items were over cooked and the garlic fries were swimming in oil. I’ll probably wait another three years to try it again.

    First, our waiter was unprofessional. I ordered appetizers and drinks first and asked the waiter to give us a few minutes before we order our dinner. Well almost 25 minutes went by before we seen our waiter. We then placed our order, which took 35 minutes to receive. Our waiter never came by and asked for any refills on drinks, so I had warm water for 1 hr. Both steak’s were ordered medium and were actually prepared well done and very rare. Not a pleasant experience for a 270.99 tab. Not worth going again. Market Tavern is better.

    We arrived for our 6:30pm Mothers Day reservation and we’re promptly seated. Our server arrive to the table about 5 minutes later and took our drink and appetizer order. Then we sat for about 30 minutes without drinks or water. Our server decided to bring our table drinks mixed with the table next to ours. It became a “one for you and two for them” comedic effect. Not very professional for the level Midgleys charges. We sat with menus still in front of us for another 20 minutes, after the appetizer arrived and was finished before our server returned to take our orders. Now, we have been seated for almost an hour. Our food was delivered in another 20 minutes. We did not see our server again u til we were done and needed boxes. It was now 8:30pm and we no longer wanted dessert. In the 2 hours we are seated we were never asked if we wanted anything else to drink, which I would have ordered at least one more cocktail. My husband never received the strawberry lemonade he ordered with the only round of drinks we did get to order. My ribeye was cooked to medium instead of medium rare, but I chose not to send it back. The plating of my food left much to be desired also. I have never had a steak, of any cut, served on top of my side dishes. I had to lift my ribeye off of the asparagus and red potatoes so it could be cut. Unfortunately it was tough and chewy in the center, not what I would expect for a $55 ribeye. Of course by this time, it was easier to box it up and take it home for my dog, I was just ready to leave and enjoy a nice cocktail at home. I am not sure how the restaurant stays in business with the poor service we encountered. I understand being short staffed, but not having the staff you do employ be properly trained on service 101 is not acceptable for the pricing. We understand a little bit of appreciation for the customers who are dining with your establishment go a long way. We definitely did not feel appreciated or wanted on Mothers Day.

    Busy Mother's day crowd. It did take awhile to have our orders taken and food to arrive. Sticky wings and firecracker shrimp were good. Oysters were great. Had the side salad and chili salmon and shrimp. All in all, good food, drinks, and atmosphere.

    Most of the staff conducted themselves as if they didn’t give a hoot about you. Took forever between visits from our waiter. My 82 year old mom didn’t decide quick enough about a drink order so he stormed off annoyed at how slow we were. Then didn’t come back for ten minutes. Food took foreeeeveer to come out. Pieces of my order were incorrect. ie: I asked for no cheese on my salad but to add avocado. When he came to the table to ask how our food was I asked for the side of avocado. He acted like he’d never heard that before, not “oh I’m so sorry”. I was mostly done with my salad by the time it came out along with my 2nd glass of wine. And actually I had to ask a different waitress about the avocado all together. She was GREAT!! I wish I could give that woman the entire tip. (Every other waiter/waitress seemed too cool to be bothered or have any kind of urgency. Sauntering around if you will. It was busy but not packed. The tables around us were also sending back food and asking for things to be taken off the bill. There were just mistakes after mistakes and absolutely no urgency to correct anything. In the end it was $145 before tipping for 4 people. I’m ok paying for that for a great experience but this was just dismal to put it lightly. I wish I could say it was better, but I won’t be back for anything else but maybe a beer at the bar.

    The rudest server I have ever had. She actually told us I can't read your mind figure it out. It was so unprofessional on her service and the way she spoke to us. She knew the tip was automatically included because we were a party of six. Limited menu and was not told when I made the reservations for Mother's day. Our food was horrible and cold. One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. I will not ever go back or recommend this restaurant again!!!!

    We booked Midgeley’s for a grad dinner for 9 people and it was an excellent experience. When we arrived the table was ready to go and we were seating a few minutes before our reservation time. Service was excellent and we enjoyed everything that we ordered. Highly recommend!

    Entree menu is very limited, so if you need many options for your party, this venue maybe not the best for you. Food was good but nothing special, as there seems to be limited very good dining establishments in Stockton.

    Absolutely great service. A bit noisy, mostly due to a large lunch group that was wrapping up their time at the restaurant. The food was good except for too many croutons in my Ceasar salad. The salad portions are good sized.

    On 3/4/23 I reservations for a party of 12. I am highly disappointed in the service, experience, and food quality. One party member did not receive their food until everyone had already completed eating their food. A server came by, and I advised her in regards to the delay of the foods arrival for that party member. She disregarded my issue and walked away after I had addressed it twice. Horrible customer service. Another waitress was more professional and agreed to not charge for the plate. Overall the food was not great. Red potatoes were completely crispy and the steak had a strange flavor. The customer service was completely dreadful. An evening at Denny’s for half the price would had provided a better experience. I will never come here again, and will begin to advise family and friends of my experience. The other party members also agreed and came to the same conclusion. To all who read this, save your money, go around the building and have a better overall experience at market tavern, Domo, shomi, even the Jamba Juice shop would have been a better experience. Midgleys gets a 1/5 star review. Horrible service, food was not great, employees were unprofessional, and the restaurant environment was lacking a desirable dining experience.

    We had a reservation, but yet still had to wait more than 20 minutes for a table. When it was ready, we were put in a bad spot next to the door on a freezing night. Now let's talk about the food, my fiancé ordered the shrimp with fish and was not expecting for all of it to be fried because the menu didn't state that. As for myself I ordered the Tomahawk and for the price it would have been nice to have more meat than fat. Also, the potatoes that came with it had zero taste zero flavor and looked like they were out of a box. Our server was nonexistent walked by us multiple times without even acknowledging us. Unfortunately, we really wanted to like this place, but we will NOT come back, nor will we recommend it.

    Our entree for dinner was incorrect. They said it would take 20 minutes to give the correct entree… meanwhile, everyone else at our dinner party had to wait so as all of us could dine together. Our server said she’d comp two beverages as a “ make good”. When our bill came, we were charged for those alcoholic beverages…which we didn’t even want . This isn’t the first time this has occurred . We will not be back which is unfortunate as we like the venue. Lucky for Lincoln Center they offer many other accommodating restaurants.
