Always perfect. Excellent experience and the food is delicious.
Wonderful menus daughter and her husband visiting from NY C they loved the food and ambiance and they eat in the best the city offers
Loved this restaurant. I was in town for some bourbon tours and found this gem on a search of local restaurants. I am vegetarian and there were wonderful and delicious options on the menu for me. I would recommend the pb and j sandwich which is a new take on an old favorite!
Very high quality food prepared well. Not set up for traditional courses per se which is ok and can see the point for sharing. But even so the sequencing was off. For small place not very attentive wait staff. Overall still worth the trip.
Food was excellent. Had a reservation at 7 and there were tables open for two, but was still seated at the bar which was odd.
They were out of five of the daily specials by the time we sat down for dinner at 8:30 on Saturday night. The remaining choices were minimal and the food that we were served was very average.
The food was great all around, the service was excellent as well (as expected) although I was a bit disappointed in the lamb, which was relatively chewy, and redeemed somewhat by being very flavorful. That said, everything else was great and the portions were quite generous for a restaurant in this class - next time I'll try sharing more. I could definitely see myself being a repeat customer at some time in the future.
The food here was truly excellent and interesting; easily the best meal that we had in a several day vacation to the area (the eggplant veg was incredible, and we really loved the sausages and duck, though the merguez packed a spicy punch. The cheddar pancakes were also pretty decadent).
The place is a bit noisy (mixed news for a date depending on what you are looking for, but hard for group conversations). Our server was a bit brusque at times, but the food and drinks were great.
Amazing restaurant. Reasonably priced, maybe even beyond reasonable for the quality of food and service. Extensive wine list by the bottle, many of which are great deals especially given the variety and quality. The shitake bowl with a caramelized soy sauce was our favorite dish, but everything that arrived at our table was exciting and delicious.
Enjoyable Friday night dinner. Food and service were very good. Menu creative. Portion size just right. Parking a challenge. Drinks seemed a bit skimpy in size. Seated along side the bar which was extremely noisy initially which seemed to be due to a couple of loud patrons at the bar. After they left, noise level was fine.
You'll need reservations. It is in a neat repurposed development.
Our table of 6 ordered: the lamb chops ,sausages. Cobia- a special that night-, 1/2 chicken , duck, gazpacho and the bread w duck fat appetizer. Every thing was Great- except the duck was a little plain
Go to this place!!!
One of the best restaurants in Lexington, but be sure to get a reservation.
A unique restaurant for Lexington with some of the most creative and delicious choices in the city. The shareable concept might not be for everyone and the ever changing menu may require some extra time to peruse, but for us, these were some of MFKB's greatest assets and really helped to make our experience special.
I was so excited to eat here . I consider myself a bit of a foody . Love Carsons , I had drinks before and was pleased . I had made reservations for a friend and I , our table was called the Chefs table . Much to my surprise it was next to the cooks steam table , hot and miserable and no room !
I was told " Honey that is what the computer arranged " honey really ? And no trying to find us another table . We sat at the bar and were not waited on in a timely manner . Had to ask several times for drinks . I felt food was not even seasoned ., quite bland so sad and was looking forward to this culinary evening. I have been to almost every place in town , treated like royalty at Corta Lima by the owner and staff , Carsons , Nick Ryan's , Bouchon in Asheville , about everywhere . I probably won't be back .
Amazing food. Best in town
Had a reservation at 8:30. Arrived at that time and the hostess whispered the other 'they're not close to being done'. We were asked to sit at the chefs table which would be warm or wait. We accepted the offer and sweated the next hour plus because of the location behind the fire. Ordered the lamb sausage ($20) and received the lamb entree ($40) no discount was offered after asking about the dish. Food was great, just disappointed in those 2 areas.
They wouldn't seat my party until half of us were there. Then when they did seat us, it took 20 minutes to get the drinks and then the server never asked us if we wanted apps (which we did and were ready to order) or anything. The rest of our party ended up getting stuck in traffic and by the time (7pm, our reservation was at 5) we had to actually stop our server we had to leave because we were told that there was a 7:30 reservation and needed to be out by then. This was my first time here and I was actually really looking forward to trying the food but after this experience I don't know that I'll ever go back and take that chance.
Food was good, but nothing stood out as unique or amazing, especially for the price. I'll give the patio a shot next time as they have a different menu with many of the same basic ingredients.
Food was great. Absolutely wonderful. Presentation superb. Service was however awful. New server, admittedly "first week" but out of her league. Had to ask her to take our order for appetizers, bring more water and clear plates. I choose this restaurant based on my experience when I was "scouting" for new places to take my customer and I dare say I won't make that mistake again. It must be repeated that the food was excellent, but the "whole package" was missing tonight.
atmosphere lively, not into the menu, very unique
Birthday dinner. Everything was fantastic from staff, drink and food.
We LOVE Middle Fork. The only problem is that there is no parking. Be sure to leave plenty of time to park across the street and far down the road. Or better yet, take Uber or Lyft.
Really enjoyed the food, service and ambiance of this restaurant. It works well with the distillery district! Hard to get in because it is so small and usually full, but we lucked out this time. Will definitely be back, as well as recommend to others!!
Superb food and incredibly pleasant and attentive server.
My wife and I were celebrating our Anniversary and we were not disappointed with the food! Had knowledgeable waiter that directed us to all the right stuff. We would definitely go back.
Very good food and a great wine selection! (For beer, one is better off having a pint before at Ethereal, right next door.) Nice decor (although the place can get a little loud). Friendly and engaging wait staff. Virtually no vegetarian options and actually very few vegetables on the menu (unless one likes mushrooms or pickled items). Skip the dessert (very limited selection) and go to Crank & Boom.
Great ambiance. Great daily specials and farm to table finds. Thanks for raising the stakes in Lexington.
We've now been to MF 2x and have had a great experience both times. We took our 3 kids for an early dinner and encouraged them to try the items we ordered--a great food experience for them too. Highly recommend!!
Loved the food - so much meat! The grill is amazing. Don't forget your veggie- the grilled wedge was delicious.
One of the best restaurants in Lexington. Great food and great drinks. Bring a few friends and split several of the menu items.
Just absolutely fantastic! We spent our anniversary here and were very happy! The staff was great and they even gave us an anniversary toast! 10/10!
Excellent Evening of Food and Wine - MiddleFork never disappoints. It is our favorite restaurant in Lexington. Their wine list is inventive, always a good read, and reasonably priced. Can't wait to go again.
Great food. All locally sourced. Service staff was excellent. Right next to Ethereal Brewery, in the Distillery district. Highly recommend you stop in if you are in Lexington.
If you don't eat here while in Lexington, then bless your effing Heart
The best restaurant in Lexington for those foodies with an eclectic palate! All of the servers we had at Middle Fork have been extremely helpful and friendly!
I had not been to Middle Fork for over a year. I had a positive experience a year ago with the food, draft beer and lively environment that still allowed for table conversation. Based on that experience I took a friend to share these good things on a Saturday night at 8:30. Sadly nothing was the same and almost everything was not good. It was so loud - not with music but the voices of the full restaurant - a noise made even more noxious by a few tables of drunken patrons. The tapas we got were good but our main dishes were not. The chicken was bland with no spices and there was also no flavor from the supposed sorghum/maple glaze. The fish was cooked to perfection but was so salty as to be uneatable - I could taste nothing but salt - same for the potatoes and cucumber salad that came with the fish. We are beer drinkers but the draft beer system was not working. We did get two canned/bottled beers (the selection is good) and I had a cocktail -supposedly one of their special bourbon drinks. It tasted like slightly sugary ice water. Middle Fork is sadly crossed off my list - and I do mean sadly because they are interested in good and inventive cooking and in using local ingredients. I guess success has ruined them. They certainly are not the first restaurant to follow this arc.
The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is very cozy. MiddleFork also focuses on local, fresh, high quality ingredients. However, it is pricey and probably best reserved for small groups or date nights on special occasions. I highly recommend the pickle appetizer with hog n' oats and the sausage meal. Great beer selection as well.
you of,if not my favorite places to eat.food is always outstanding, service great.
The staff was exceptionally nice when we first arrived. Server was knowledgeable and very attentive. The food was on a whole different level of good. The whole experience made for a perfect date
Not plussed when my water glass is more about look than volume(2-3 oz?)
Service was cool but communicative and she asked if we had been before as well as advising us to return for their patio in better weather. Nice. Wine list is not impressive but my standards are pretty high. I like value regardless and none was to be found here.
