    I've eaten at Michael's on East for years and I'm sorry to say that this was a disappointing experience. We went for Savor Sarasota and it was obvious from the presentation that some of the food, ( the amuse bouche and the octopus appetizer) had been plated for some time and looked dried out and not very appetizing. The duck egg rolls which i have always loved were much lighter on duck and sitting in too much spicy mayo or sauce that I don't remember so much of. Everything was tasty but not special. The short ribs were drowned in a brown sauce and the salmon was overcooked. All in all not what I have come to expect from Michael's.

    Take a pass on the lobster special! Over the years, we’ve enjoyed Michael’s on East lobster dinner special very much. This time we found it to be expensive, at $69.99 pp, considering the quality of the food. The lobster was shelled, thankfully, the taste was okay, but it was slightly chewy (overcooked?), the mussels & clams served with it weren’t good at all. Clams were the tiniest clams I’ve ever had, and the mussels were tasteless, dry, and overcooked. They nearly shredded when trying to remove from the shell. We love this restaurant, the atmosphere & food are usually exceptional, but we won’t likely be going back for the lobster dinner again.

    Always a delightful dining experience at Michael's On East. Food and service were excellent. Our server, Kristine, went above and beyond with providing great service and food recommendations. We have had the pleasure previously of having her as our waitress as well. Highly recommend this fine gem in Sarasota!

    The service staff were great. Overall food quality was a bit under par. The broccolini were over cooked, the sauces were too heavy. Foods were lukewarm served temperature… did not feel freshly cooked to order, rather partially assembled?

    It’s been about a year since our last visit and we both said to each other - what is wrong with us - Best meals for at least 69 miles in any direction. Piano music - great service - solid well priced cocktails and delicious food in every course . We will be back soon
