   Fantastic experience at Michael’s On East. The 24 oz bone-in ribeye was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Paired with the truffle mac and cheese… heaven on a plate. Our waitress - Kim - was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

   As always, this is one of the best restaurants in Sarasota. Our waitress was above and beyond perfection and her assistant who took care of all our water, bread, and table needs was equally as attentive. This place is the platinum standard for dining.  Food perfect!

   Michael’s on East has been consistently one of the best restaurants in Sarasota. The menu is always changing and the specials are innovative and on point. Last night we tried the Pre Fixe menu from Portugal. What a fabulous meal. I had the Pork Tenderloin ( see picture ) and my husband had the Seafood and Rice dish. Both came with an appetizer and dessert which were equally as delicious . The service was attentive and professional and the prices were reasonable. We would recommend Michael’s for date night or that special occasion where the meal needs to be perfect.

   My steak, the ribeye, was perfectly prepared. The quality of the meat was outstanding. Although offered I did not try my wife's dish, but everyone seemed to be happy. The wine Michael picked out was awesome and did not break the bank. We will be back.

    This was our first visit and Michael’s exceeded our expectations Top notch experience. Food all made on premises. Waiter thoroughly knowledgeable on the wine list, menu and options available. Manager came buy to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. We had some dietary needs, which they were happy to meet for us. It was a special occasion (anniversary) and they recognized us and made it very special. If you are looking for a higher end, high quality restaurant, I strongly recommend Michael’s.     Wonderful Portugal menu, but we weee seated close to large round table of men who clearly had too much to drink. They were shouting and they made it impossible to have any conversation in our party of 3. We asked to be moved to another part of the dining room but we’re told there was a screaming baby in the other room. We went to have dinner at a restaurant not a bar filled with drunks.

    Another excellent dining experience at our favorite local restaurant. Fabulous food, wonderful wine, all prepared and served by a wonderful team. Tonight we enjoyed the Portuguese food made available by this month's Epicurean menu - a wonderful prelude to our planned visit to Portugal next year. Such great food, served in a lovely venue, with a lively, friendly ambience. You always feel welcomed by the entire team, and that elevates a good experience to a great experience We are looking forward to our next visit in June - cannot wait. We would recommend that you treat yourself to an evening at Michael's

    Our dinner was a special occasion & Michael’s On East didn’t disappoint. Kimberly, our server, was very familiar with the menu & helped with excellent recommendations. The oysters on the half shell from New England were a perfect start with the Pompano a superior main course. Kimberly & her assistant, Isabelle, were very attentive but not overly so. We even enjoyed a nice visit with Michael Klauber, the founder of the restaurant.

    We LOVE Michael 's!!! This visit was very special to us as we took our daughter and our first born grandson. Only Benning six months old the piano music was very soothing to him. Thank you Brian B for your outstanding service. Always a positive when someone takes the time to connect with the customer. Thank you for all yours wonderful recommendations.     What a wonderful late Mother’s Day celebration! Michael’s came highly recommended and it did not disappoint on our first visit. Our meal was outstanding and the service was excellent. Impeccable service from our server Kathy. She was attentive but not overbearing and simply delightful. We look forward to returning and will definitely try dining in the stunning atrium.

    The service and food were excellent, as was the outdoor setting, now with a pianist, which is a nice addition. We all had the Portuguese Epicurean meal, which is a great buy. Love this restaurant--we go as often as we are in Sarasota.

    Sat in the enclosed mall area, with a constant drip landing in the middle of the table. Mentioned it and no effort made to move us. Service was just average. Manager visited the tables on either side of us to ask how dinner was but seemed to intentionally avoid our table. Mentioned all this to the GM on the way out and he didn't seem to care either.

    It was very hot outside, dining in the atrium (certainly not Michaels fault!). But more floor fans would have made it a bit more comfortable. Mushroom risotto good but for my taste, a bit heavy on the truffle oil. Caesar salad excellent as usual. Salmon entrée a bit petite for my dining partner but nicely prepared. Our server, Freddie, was excellent. Michaels has been our go-to restaurant since moving here in 2016 and we visit frequently, often bringing friends. Unfortunately I think we will be giving it a break for a while and try again in the future,

    This was our first trip to Michael's on East after hearing nothing but great things about the restaurant, and boy was everyone right. We had a fantastic dining experice. The food was superb. The price was very reasonable, and the wait staff were excellent!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

    A delicious quiet meal @ Michael’s on the Lanai. Portugal was the featured food and I went w the delicious 🦐 starter & bouillabaisse like seafood 🍅 based stew over rice. My wife stayed with her favorite snapper 🐠. Terrific service and delicious 🫐 sorbet

    The food was delicious. Four of us shared the Angel Hair onion rings appetizer. It was plenty. Two of us had the Friday Lobster Pot, and two had a menu regular fish preparations. Everyone enjoyed the food. The ambiance was OK, other than some rearrangement of chairs between dining rooms (we assume). A string of staff members removed about 10 chairs and then brought 10 or more back to a table near use. Somewhat of a spectacle and I think deserved a little warning to us. Our waiter began by serving diet Pepsi instead of Diet Coke, and when questioned said he thought they were the same and acted shocked when iced tea was asked to replace the drink. He messed up one order and then did not own it. A manager had stopped by to check on us when he noticed only three of us were eating. The mistake was corrected and the manager was very gracious. The waiter also could not describe a special dessert and made no effort to find out what it was. We either wanted it or we didn't. I think having a different waiter would have made a huge difference in our first-time dining experience at Michael's on East.

    First time dining at Michael’s on East… Was a terrific meal on all counts! Food, drinks, service, location outside in the Atrium!! Noise level was virtually nothing as all parties in the Atrium area were well spaced out… A very large group was celebrating a birthday,… but you wouldn’t have know it except for the fact that they carried celebration items for the birthday in with them as they passed by our table. We will definitely be back another exquisite dining experience!

    The food was very good. The service was excellent. It was very relaxing with comfy seats, a nice table and soft music. They did provide a nice dessert for my daughter's birthday. The decor could use a little updating. It reminded me of a dining room on a cruise ship. For some reason the restaurant wouldn't accept my dining rewards coupon from open table. Don't know why, but overall it was a pleasant experience albeit a little pricey.

    Our server was outstanding. He was attentive but not overbearing, making our celebration of Portugal a great evening. The kitchen provided those extra touches like bringing out the tartare treat. The wine selection was reasonably priced but only fair. I had the Portuguese wine pairing and the white wine was a bit sweet. The red Douro was fair. Our meal last night reminded us that Michael’s is the best restaurant in Sarasota. We can hope it will strive to reach for a Michelin Star/ James Beard award.     We had the Portuguese special w/wine pairing. Enjoyed the croquettes but thought they were a bit small. Entrées were quite good, but custard tart was over done and dry. Also enjoyed the pairings.
