Michael Mina - Bellagio
Service was as amazing as the food. Great wines too
We had a delightful dinner! There is an accent on fish, and the dishes are amazing!
This is a wonderful restaurant for people that enjoy great food! My wife selected scallops for an appetizer and crusted sole for an entree. She raved over both - especially the sole. I had the potato chowder followed by the lobster pot pie. The chowder was wonderful but the lobster pie was simply out of this world! Quick tip - the lobster pie is huge. You may not need an appetizer. Our server, Gregory, was great. Always checking in with us but never intrusive. He also offers sage advice as few know the menu better than Gregory.
Excellent, but if the prices were half of what they are, it would still be expensive.
We came to MM for a day-after-valentines day dinner and chose to all do the tasting menu + shared octopus app. To cut right to the point, I found the meal to be a bit of a disappointment. We go out for fine dining with some regularity and MM was both more expensive and less impressive than most. On our previous trip to Vegas we went out to Picasso and for approximately the same price we were more impressed with both the food and the overall experience.
A quick dish by dish rundown of the food we tried:
Octopus - Good sear and good flavor, but not as tender as I would expect. B+
Amuse Bouche (Lobster bits in shot glass of curry) - I thought there was too much gravy vs lobster but my girlfriend liked it. C+
Salad w/ Crab - Star of the night. Delicious large chunk of crab and perfectly prepared/dressed salad. A+
Encrusted Sole - Fine but not really interesting and a bit bland. B-
Lobster Pot Pie - Huge pieces of lobster but the flavor was missing something, and this is the one I'd heard people talk about so I was expecting better. If you've ever said to yourself "What if pot pie but it has silly amounts of lobster" then I guess this is for you. It was also at this point that we started realizing there is far too much food on this tasting menu. Started thinking up strategies to not have stomach rupture. B
Wagyu beef w/ layered potato cube- Look, they said this was wagyu and I'm not going to call them liars but I've never seen so little intramuscular fat on a piece of wagyu ribeye. I definitely get more 'melt-in-your-mouth'-iness from a quick seared cheap wagyu from my local Korean supermarket. Also, reiterating, this is too much dang food. Belts being loosened. Trying to develop exit plan. B-
Fruit Tart + Sorbet - Sorbet was good and was all I could eat. Girlfriend said tart was good. I took some back for later but never ate it and am fine with that outcome. Inconclusive
There also may have been a tartar in there somewhere. Maybe? Eh, I'm done thinking about it
Fantastic birthday dinner/experience. Friendly, professional, and courteous staff. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Thx
Amazing tasting menu!!!
Valentine’s Day. We experienced a delay in our service & were professionally taken care of- fantastic service! Really appreciated the preemptive approach
Very attentive staff and absolutely delicious tasting menu!!!!
Wonderful experience! Perfect location within Bellagio. Would recommend to anyone who likes seafood. Amazing seafood pallet and combination of ingredients!
Food is great and service is on point, the forced price fixe menu for the holiday is excessive and we were forced to have a 5 course meal for a set price, when we would have never eaten that much food. Would have Rather order a la carte and get what I really want instead of being forced into what the restaurant wants me to eat, especially for the $300 per person that I spent .
Stik one of the best seafood restaurants isn’t where. Innovative recipes and perfect service. Even amongst Vegas many good establishments this one stands out. Repeat visits are the norm.
We had a lovely Galentines with our group of moms and were so impressed with the impeccable service and food. We had a wonderful night filled with laughs and conversation and everyone at MM made us feel special.
My girlfriend and I were staying at the Bellagio for the weekend and wanted to share a special dinner and were fortunate enough to get a reservation at Michael Mina. The food was exquisite and the service was outstanding. My steak was cooked perfectly and because it took longer than usual to come out, they brought us out some complimentary truffle risotto which was phenomenal. Definitely recommend dining here while in Vegas!
Fantastic service and amazing food. The Soms wine suggestion was outstanding. Rick the bartender was extremely friendly and we enjoyed speaking with him.
4 of us dined yesterday before a 7pm show and one of the gentlemen in our party was so taken aback by his experience that it became the main topic of conversation for a good part of the night. For those who haven’t dined here, it’s well known by others that you should expect a somewhat high cost for dinner. After spending $540 for (4) plus a 20% tip I felt it would be best to leave an appropriate review recounting our negative and unsavory experience.
The right side of the menu shows a generous assortment of seafood which can be served chilled to make a tower (shrimp, crab, lobster, oysters, clams etc) OR that same seafood can be prepared chargrilled.
We started with a chilled seafood tower of crab, shrimp and oysters. For mains 2ppl ordered fish (sole and another fish similar to snapper because the waiter said they were out of red snapper although we saw one on ice) and the other 2 of us wanted scallops and lobster from the chargrilled selection of seafood but in asking what “sides” we could have with them on our plate the waiter looked kind of lost for words and then said “well we have broccoli or mashed potatoes” Seemed odd that NO ONE ever wants to have simply grilled seafood with a side. Just fish on a plate? Then he said they have creamed spinach and it was ordered as the side. A few moments later he returned to inform us the chef said they have creamed spinach but they only have enough for the dishes it normally comes with so they need to save it for other customers later tonight. That really cast a terrible mood over the table. So you’re not willing to serve it to us NOW in the event you need it for other (seemingly more valuable) guests later? How LITTLE did you have that you couldn’t offer a single portion? Poor planning by the chef. To not offer it is absurd and we will never EVER return. We are guests of a 2 bedroom penthouse this week here at Bellagio and have never been treated so poorly! Here’s an idea: make MORE you are a chef aren’t you?!!!
Spectacular cuisine and service. Best restaurant I n Las Vegas.
Amazing service and food and drinks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I def plan to go back during my next Bellagio stay !!
Amazing food, great service and good size portions especially for the tasting menu.
I had a very good time at this rertaurant. All of the staffs were so kind to that they gave me information about the food easily to understand. Of course the food was great! The only fact that dissapointed me was the cost. Little bit expensive. Including tip, it costed about $380 for 2 of us. We had some alcohol and understand how rich food we had, but a little bit expensive.
This has always been one of my favorite Las Vegas restaurants, but this visit was a bit disappointing due to poor service. The restaurant was very busy, so I would understand a bit slower service. But this was not just slow, we were nearly ignored and forgotten by our waiter. If it was not for the attention by one of the bus boys, I think our waiter would have forgotten about us entirely. The food was excellent, as always.
The service was great but I was disappointed in the food. I’ve dined there before and this time it just wasn’t as good as I remember. At the waiter’s suggestion I had the sole in phyllo. It was bland and a bit over cooked.
Nothing less nothing more
Host wasnt accommodating looking down own us said no tables were available but clearly there are. Server not attentive
Completely overpriced although I'm judging on New Years Eve menu.
Michael Mina restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants and I was a bit disappointed this time. We were a party of 4 for New Year's Eve and one of our party was my granddaughter who is 8 years old. I was disappointed that they didn't have any options other than the full blown tasting menu and had not notified us of this. When I asked they said that there was no other option. Additionally, we had ordered her a drink and it took way too long (and after a couple of requests from us) for her to receive the drink. Finally, one of the dishes that came out was a risotto/farro dish and I started to eat it and bit on something very hard. I showed the waiter what I bit on and he said it was bone marrow. I explained that it couldn't have been bone marrow because (as he could see) it was hard and I couldn't even put my fork through it. He said he would let the chef know and never came back with any followup. It's unfortunate because we were really looking forward to celebrating this special evening and as I mentioned it is normally one of my favorite restaurants.
An amazing New Year’s Eve romantic dining experience from start to finish. Beautifully crafted dishes and exceptional service.
Our waiter was superb - very professional and very courteous. I don’t remember his name but he had a white ceramic watch that his mother had given to him. My wife and I enjoy this restaurant each time we come to Vegas and we have had the pleasure of having the same waiter each time.
The easiest way to describe the food is “the best I’ve ever tasted.” It’s mind boggling how the chefs combine ordinary ingredients to produce the most incredible flavors. The taste of the food is unlike any other food we’ve tried and each time is special.
We took my son and his wife to Michael Mina for our annual Christmas dinner in Las Vegas. The service and attention to detail was outstanding. Food was prepared to perfection !
Honestly speaking the appetizers and salad were better than the entree. We were their for Christmas and it was packed. They had some-what of a pre-set menu. My wife had the wagyu filet and was not impressed with portion size nor overall flavor. I had Cobi Halibut which was infused and baked similar to a carmelized ham. Interesting approach but overpowered the fish.
Everything was fine. It’s just that when you pay that much money you expect everything to be spectacular. On the whole, for four people and a bottle of wine at around $800, I would’ve expected it to be better.
Service was the big disappointment here. Waiter was a non-native speaker, and we had difficulty understanding him...we had to fill in the blanks. When he dropped the bill in the table, he didn’t think to clear our empty desert plates.
Ambiance: When paying $1,000 for dinner, we don’t want to be watching football games on plasma TV screens over our guest’s heads.
Food: Signature and seasonal tasting menus. Food was the winner here. We live in San Francisco where Mina’s signature restaurant flourishes, and he is a gifted chef. No standouts here, just regurgitated proven winners.
The Takeaway: Joel Robuchon knows how to manage an empire, and maintain the highest standards. He does this by flying his “enforcer” around the globe. Michael should take note. His restaurants have gotten away from him.
Visit Again: Pass.
While the food was good (and incredibly filling), it wasn’t outstanding. The service was lackluster. Not what I expected from a restaurant that has earned one Michelin star.
Amazing service and amazing food. Love MM restaurants. The lobster pot pie was perfectly executed. Will return when in town.
We have the seasonal tasting menu. All items plus the wine pairing are SO great. Especially the Uni pasta, you addicted to it.
It is always good. Very busy restaurant and it makes you feel special. Great service and exceptional food.
The food was great and our server, whom I didn't catch his name, was amazing. Things in Vegas can get out of hand sometimes and we had someone in our party that had had, well, a little too much "Vegas". The staff took care of if us and was kind to us in working with out Vegas'd friend. Thank you!
