Very delicious, high quality food for reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere and service. Great place to dine.
Excellent meal. Delightful presentation, compelling taste profile and attentive service.
We frequent Mica and love it every time!
Just about every week, Mica publishes a special "From ____with love" focusing on a specific region's culinary specialties. Past week was Baltimore, and the meal was outstanding! Pit Beef (carpaccio style) with horseradish was melt in your mouth, Crab in a reduced old bay cream was delicious and lighter than you would expect, soft shell crab was perfectly grilled and the desert was a take on a black and white cookie. Keep up the great work!
Intimate space, attentive staff and, best of all, interesting & delicious food, well presented. We’ll definitely be back.
Another great meal, consistently
As always, delicious food, well presented. Lovely amuse bouche, excellent bread. Service is attentive and pacing very good.
Tried during Chestnut Hill restaurant week. The courses were served efficiently and the food was quite delicious . The highlight of the meal was probably the chocolate mousse.
The food was superb! Our server,Sylvia, was very attentive to our needs and very pleasant. Our overall experience was incredibly enjoyable. We will be back soon!
Wonderful restaurant. We want to go more often !!
Went for Valentine's (15th) Day. Was looking forward to the 7 course tasting menu for $75, but instead got the up-charged 4 course Valentine's Day menu for $90. Would have preferred regular menu.
Overall food was well prepared and portioned. The tuna tartare had "jalepeno" listed with it on the menu but had 0 heat and missed the mark. Hanger steak and seafood (mussels) curry were both excellent.
I was enamored with how amazing the service was. Perfectly paced meal and Jackie was fantastic in her approach to our table. We'll be back for sure.
Great food and ambience
Superb as always. There are several new items and we tried most.
Nice place, the portions were kind of small. For the price
Always excellent. We come almost every week. New creative menu all the time.
This was the second time at Mica and I was unimpressed. The restaurant attempts to be creative with its offerings, but fails. This is one time when I was glad that the portions are on the small side. The space is tight.
Mica has usually been excellent, so I am sorry to write that our last meal there was anything but. We ordered the the weekly special - this time Ethiopian inspired. It was poor in all sorts of ways: the injera bread served with each course was good, but heavy and too much of it.The flavoring was not very Ethiopian, except slightly for the main course. There was too little variety - every course had a sprinkling of a farmer's type cheese (perhaps this is used in Ethiopia, but I have never had cheese in any Ethiopian restaurant); the collard greens in the first course were repeated in the second, and that was the only vegetable served; lentils were repeated in the 2nd and 3rd courses. In addition, the dried legumes in the second course were not cooked nearly enough. The highlight of the meal was the excellent dessert.
Service was superb, as it always is, warm and attentive without being intrusive.
Food was good, but portion sizes small for the prices. Service was good! Did not love the Ethiopian tasting special - I’ve had much better Ethiopian food for much less.
A warm welcome, excellent service, exquisitely and creatively executed prepared cuisine, and reasonable prices, all in an intimate setting that encouraged thoughtful conversation - - that was our evening at Mica. We look forward to returning soon.
Unbelievably good food. Attention to every detail is shown by the chef. Knowledgeable servers. It is undoubtedly the best restaurant in Chestnut Hill!
We loved Mica. Excellent food & service & wonderful to be able to bring your own wine
Great meal. A favorite of us... highly recommended.
The perfect spot for a friends get-together. Charming rooms; helpful staff; delicious food; reasonably priced. We’ll be back- soon!
What a wonderful experience! A foodies dream - the Seasonal 7 course dinner is worth every dime. There were so many items we wanted to try on the menu that this was the way to go for us. The chef accommodated our requests, the food was flavorful and the presentation top shelf all the way. Our wait staff was exceptionally helpful, pleasant and engaging. Small venue allows for relaxing personal dining. Enjoyable! BYO is a plus.
Lovely New Year's Eve Menu. Food was very good; Trout Salad, Octopus, Hanger Steak and Espresso Creme Brûlée. My Partner is Vegan and the Chef prepared special dishes for Him. Overall, a nice NYE with delicious food and a nice bottle of wine.
Our fixed price New Year's Eve dinner was a taste treat from the first course to the last. The wonderful food combined with the pleasant and professional service made for a great evening. Mica remains my favorite BYOB
The service was prompt and attentive. The food was spectacular: the pumpkin bisque was extraordinary, as was the coffee creme brûlée. The hanger steak entree was superb and perfectly cooked. Any service issues were immediately and thoroughly addressed. The restaurant's atmosphere was enjoyable but attentive without being intrusive.
We went to Mica for an early New Year Eve dinner and it was excellent and the service from Lisa superb! Although it was a price fix menu, the options were wonderful and we enjoyed ourselves very much. And being a BYOB is a big plus. Their excellent food combined with the wine you love to drink!
I rate the ambiance high because it is low key, which I prefer. It doesn’t have the usual fanciness that goes with such gourmet food and I find that very relaxing!
Wonderful food and ambience! The good will NOT disappoint!
Outstanding and reasonably priced The food and service were terrific and you can bring your own wine. We will be coming back again very soon
Wow! So wonderful. Seven fishes and dessert. Loved it.
Very Cozy space- great for a date.
very pleasant experience
good food, albeit trending toward the eclectic
We had a very enjoyable evening dining at Mica. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. It was my first visit since the new management took over but they haven't missed a step. It's still a northwest Philly gem.
Small intimate BYO restaurant with a small but really well constructed menu. We shared the roasted Spanish octopus then had the chicken and salmon dishes. Sauces on all three dishes were superb, subtle and set off the fish/chicken so well. We watched the table next to us eat their way through the tasting menu and plotted who else we would bring to share it when we return--which will be very soon.
Outstanding all around! Food was creative, delicious and perfect for sharing. Service was beyond perfect! Can’t rave enough.
Our meal was delicious! Very unique flavors in every course! Would highly recommend.
Chestnut Hill GEM! Creative delicious food, outstanding service, great ambience and BYOB! It made for a perfect birthday celebration for my brother who was in from out of town. Definitely will return and recommend to everyone.
Very good. Was hard to decide what to order; would love to come back to get some of what we didn’t order that night. A bit disappointed in the octopus (dry). Lamb ravioli was phenomenal! Sour cherry chocolate torte was the best dessert I’ve ever had! A bit too pricey but will probably return.
