Service and good was great. The atmosphere was nice. Enjoyed it here.
It was nice the ambiance was alive . The food was ok . The beans lacked salt. The portions were decent. The drinks were very good . Desert was delicious . Water glasses were not refilled when empty. Waiters kept bringing orders for other tables. Once we got the check and paid . We were not spoken to until we left
Booked a reservation, was sat immediately….. right in the middle of the restaurant. So much so that 2 of the staff members trying to get by knocked my purse off the chair . Was going to tip host $40 to move but she said no .I work at a 5 star restaurant that sees 1000 covers a day and there’s always a way to move guests elsewhere if requested . Next , our “server” only came to take the order for drinks , app , & entrees … never checked on us .. she would have known the entrees came before the app & that there was hair in one of our dishes …. Wanted to order more drinks but the check came before we could do so . I’ve been here before and recieved excellent service … but sat night was not anything worth sharing or ever recommending to anyone . Maybe if you’re a student at UCR and you like being ignored your entire meal yes please come here ( that was majority of the guests ), if you want a good dining experience stay away !
The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Helped in menu choices and walked us over to the nightclub side afterwards.
The food and service is amazing ❤️🇲🇽
No menu. You have to scan a bar code.
Enchiladas were so spicy I have no idea what they tasted like.
Guacamole was good.
No reason to go back.
This place was nice and quaint. The food was delicious. The watermelon margarita was awesome. It was a bit expensive but good. Would just recommend they make the tortillas stronger. I got tacos and couldn't pick up because they would just fall apart. It's alot of food for the money. It was my grandmothers 97th birthday and they made her some delicious churros with chocolate. Thank you for a great dinner
Had a reservation, they told us to come back in 10 minutes when I called to make sure I wouldn’t have to wait ….
Ac Doesn’t work…. Place is small it’s not as big as it looks in pictures , Food got to us before the drinks and then waitress came to tell me long after that they didn’t have Hennessy, food was okay but not for the value of the price , overall it was Ight
Drinks were very well made, just a tiny bit on the sweet side. Michi was fantastic! Food was awesome.
Great drinks/ hot temp inside / nice customer service
The service was great, food was fast & our server kept making sure we were doing okay. She recommended drinks and food which was very helpful for it being our first tint there 😁😁
It was ok, nothing spectacular. Food was ok, got feed before we even got drinks. We were there for a birthday celebration but it wasn’t even acknowledged even though the info was sent
The food was astonishing but unfortunately, the staff messed up our orders and they had to correct their mistakes by giving us complementary menu items. The establishment has a very rigid menu as you cannot supplement or exchange any items in their menu which can be very restricting for certain eaters. Overall, the food was really good but the pricing was overvalued as well as the mistakes from the staff , make it a rather an unfortunate experience, that rubs you the wrong way.
Good experience, we will be back.
The service was okay at best. we understood that the wait staff was training and we were patient. but food came out really late and the presentation on the plates was messy and the sauces were overflowing. we ended up overpaying above $200 for food that could have been made better by a street vendor.
The AC wasn’t working properly and it was hot and the service was slow but I’m okay with that during Covid
We visited this place with family we had not seen in a long time. We had so much to catch up on and server said we had been there too long. We were consuming ($600 bill) but asked to leave. We will not be returning
Great food and service!!!
Good food and great atmosphere
Amazing! We will be back.
After arriving on time for my 9:45 reservation, I walked up to check-in to an unwelcoming older gentleman. After being stared at and not receiving a “welcome,” I told the gentleman I was here for my reservation. He then rolled his eyes and told me it would be a 30 minute wait. I asked him “how is there a 30 minute wait when I’ve made a reservation and it was confirmed?” He proceeded to tell me I could sit outside. I made my reservation for inside seating, but i accepted the outside seating. I honestly should have left after not being welcomed. We waited 30 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Another 10 minutes after that, someone took our food order. Waited another 20 minutes, and food finally arrived. EVERYTHING WAS COLD; but overall food was decent. Drinks were mediocre. Price didn’t match the quality of the food. Maybe I caught the restaurant on a bad night. Disappointing experience.
Although we had a reservation we had to wait about 30 min. This restaurant really isn’t big so I wouldn’t recommend having a big party eat here. The service was awesome but the food was ok. It was coldish despite the fact it came out fast. It seems like they have the food waiting under heat lamps and it’s not made to order. I would only return for drinks.
Drinks were great & really tasty. Food was fresh & delicious.
The door man seemed very stressed and came off a bit passive aggressive when I asked him a question about my table
Cool atmosphere, tasty food! Good background music is a plus.
Took my sister for her bday. Food was very disappointing small portions not a good taste and price was very high. Drinks pricy too and not a good presentation overall was very bad experience
Drinks were a little off this visit. I think it was the bartender. I got the margarita flight for the first time and wanted to love it but it was just okay. I have been here several times before though and the drinks were great. I just think it was an off day for that bartender.
Food has definitely stepped up. Revisited the shrimp enchiladas and would recommend trying those.
Go for the esquite, the guac, and the sandina pepino margaritas!!! Excellent!
Nice environment firndly
This place never fails, always a pleasure to have great food and a nice ambiance.
I feel like you're paying for the ambiance. The prices are high for small portions and okay quality. Unless someone is just trying to spend more than what they're getting back, I wouldn't recommend. The food was good but not for what I had to pay for. The service made up for it somewhat.
I spent the weekend at The Mission Inn and I took some time to explore the area. I came across Palenque Kitchen that was about a four minute walk from the hotel. The location is perfect and the restaurant is decorated beautifully. I started with aguachiles that in my opinion need some work. I followed with the asada plate that was delicious and wrapped it up with the churros that are amazing make sure you ask for a scoop of ice cream. Overall I had a great time and the service was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
Love this place. Great staff and great food.
Beyond slow service (server said I'm over it I've been here 12 hrs)
Wrong food was brought on three differnt times.
Drinks were forgot and took over 30min to come to our table amd that was only after we asked
No silverware was brought with food
Water service was slow
Food was basic
Bill was wrong we were billed for steak when we ordered tacos and didn't even notice until the next day so nothing could be done about it.
Upon arrival, I walked up to one of the hostess( she was the shorter one with her hair in a ponytail, we later saw she was a waitress) who looked me up and down with her eyebrow raised giving me a dirty look. I hadn’t even said anything and she was looking at me like if I didn’t belong. She never acknowledged me so I said I had a reservation and she still ignored me and then a second hostess came and looked for my name on the list. At 11:30, the side they sat us in had zero music and was almost empty so it felt awkwardly quiet. We asked to move sides and they did allow us to move however, we could visibly see the two hostesses pointing at us and talking about us with annoyed looks. Our waiter was nice and ended up apologizing for his coworker but even then, it felt like they were taking a long time bringing anything to our table. As a former waitress, I knew the service here was horrible. My food was good and I actually enjoyed it but the other people in my party ordered chilaquiles and enchiladas and both said the sauce was cold and tasted like it was from a can. For the price, we expected authentic Mexican food. Overall, after the attitude of the initial hostess, our experience here was ruined. It really rubbed me the wrong way that she was at the entrance of the restaurant and gave us that much attitude by just looking at us and ignoring us. My whole party felt it and honestly people like that should not be the face of the restaurant. Also, no one was wearing a mask. COVID is still a thing and the fact that no one here cared to adhere to safety guidelines was a bit annoying. Overall, our experience was not the best and our group will be hard to convince to return here.
Not much to share, we were never even approached by a server. No drinks, no chips & salsa, had to beg for a menu because the QR codes were so worn off they wouldn't scan. We left after 20mins of being ignored. Disappointed, as the reviews said the food was good.
You need to state that children aren’t allowed after a certain time BEFORE we make reservations.
This place slaps hands down
Had a great experience with the staff, the food was absolutely amazing. The drinks from the bartenders were delicious.
Great place! The decor was really fun. And the food is awesome too! They’ve got fun drinks that aren’t that potent but they taste amazing.
