Had an excellent dinner at the Meridian. Excellent service and food.
Great food, lousy service. Felt like we were in a fast food establishment with our waiter. Other wait staff were fine. Too bad!
The food was amazing and the atmosphere is sublime.
Excellent service and our table was ready when we arrived for the reservation. We all ordered different fish menu items and they were all delishous and filling.
The soup was excellent and my entree was perfect.
Although our server was friendly and jovial, she appeared to be having an off-night with one mistake after another. The menu seemed disjointed with random apps and entrees that didn't really seem like they would go together. All our meals lacked flavor with the exception of the mushroom soup, which was very good. I guess the best description I have for this dining experience is 'underwhelming.'
Annual holiday dinner with my daughter and our server remembered us. She knew we were headed to the butler ballet and so made the experience timely and amazing!
Outstanding food and service in a cozy log cabin. Nice patio and plenty of parking as well. Best mussels and pasta I’ve had in this city. Pecan White Russian was very good as well. I understand why they have such a loyal following. It’s quite the hidden gem.
A business friend and I met here for lunch. The food is always good. I typically get the salmon which is always excellent. My friend had the corn puree soup and said it was really good. He had the fish tacos but did not realize the fish was fried although he still said they were good and the right portion.
We had an excellent meal. The smoked corn puree soup was fantastic, the main courses were excellent, and we enjoyed their classic donut dessert.
Always one of our favorites, this time it was a bit of a let down, only fair not great. In particular, the fish was lackluster. I asked that it be blacked, can out pan seared and some what mushy. We waited for a box for some leftover food, after 10 min we just gave up. Half price wine Wednesday was nice, but that does not take much culinary skill.
All the above!
Meridian is beautiful, cozy, charming. The food is wonderful.
The service is excellent.
Meridian is my favorite restaurant in Indianapolis.
This is where I always take my friend for his birthday. I also buy gift cards for two families for Christmas. They like to go for date night. The food is excellent.
My Halibut was not fully cooked and one bite was a bit “fishy “. However, we have eaten there several times and on those other occasions it was great.
Sometimes overlooked as a “go to” place for fine dining, The Meridian rarely disappoints and is consistently a very good option for both its cuisine and it’s comfortable and cozy atmosphere. This visit was for lunch and with a couple who hadn’t dined there before. We were all pleased with our meals—from grilled salmon to a salad entree’ everything was prepared perfectly and our service was spot on.
Love going here - great food and wonderful service!
My elderly neighbor moved to Indy from Birmingham, and she has high standards. I wanted to take her to a nice spot for lunch that would charm and impress her. You guys did a great job. We loved our meal.
The ice cream was unique but weird. Left a residue on the spoon I’d never seen before; almost pasty versus creamy.
I met friends here for lunch and all of us remarked how we should be eating here more often. So I’m meeting other friends here for lunch next week. It’s a lovely setting with great service, ambience and a great menu.
There Thursday for lunch and Saturday for dinner -- that ought to be enough of a recommendation. Innovative menu always good. Away from the maddening crowd always better.
We love the Meridian, the bar tender and servers are amazing...The menu change's so there's always something new to try!!!
Great place to go on a rainy cold day and sit in the bar and enjoy a nice glass of wine while dining on one or two of the fabulous appetizers.
Four of us dined at The Meridian on Wednesday, which happened to be 1/2 price wine night. The wine list was interesting and fairly priced, even at full price, but was especially great for 1/2 the wine list price. The homemade pasta dishes were very tasty and well prepared. The portions were generous.
You can count on quality service and a wonderful menu. Our waiter was polite, knew the menu, and helped us with our selections. The food, as usual, was exceptional. Will look forward to returning.
Meridian is not just a restaurant, it is an experience! The ambience is perfect for a group wanting to reconnect or for a romantic night with your special person. The menu is always changing to accommodate the season and to encourage you to try new things! Great wine menu. Delicious.
They sat us under the stairs and next to the bar, so it was loud and distracting listening to staff run up and down the stairs, and we got to listen to the loud bartender laugh - a lot.
That said, our server was great and the food was good.
The food was very good and the service was excellent.
We dined at Meridian to celebrate our anniversary. Food was delicious, the combinations of flavors and ingredients is phenomenal. We had the charcuterie and mussels as apps and duck and halibut as entrees. Service was spot on, top notch- I would say on par with if not better than any other fine dining spot in the city. It was quiet, cozy, easy to talk and relaxed. Courses were well-times and we were not rushed. One of my biggest dining pet peeves is entrees being delivered while apps are still on the table- this was not the case here, we were able to take our time and enjoy. We will be back and would highly recommend.
Six of us booked the upstairs room. Service, food and atmosphere were perfect. We will be back.
Been there a number of times. Always outstanding. The bartender,,who was also our waiter, did a great job.
This is a restaurant that has a lot of locals dining at it on a reasonably frequent basis. We went back because about a year ago the menu seemed okay, and it was a moderate to slightly upscale atmosphere. However, we found the food to be average, the menu to be limited, and the server to be average. The menu could use more diversity, and the product that they're known for, smoked corn soup, was overly strong in smoke flavor and not near as appealing as it was the last time we visited the restaurant.
First time dining at Merdian and loved it. I don't know how this escaped us for so long. We started with cocktails in the bar. Not too crowded or noisy. Nice selections and bartender was very nice and attentive but not intrusive.
Dinner was quite wonderful. We shared the Spinach/Mushroom Ravioli appetizer which was amazing. I know this word is over used but it was so flavorful and delicious. I could have devoured them all by myself.
For our entree, I ordered the grilled Halibut with Roasted Beets and Wilted Spinach. Again, cooked to perfection and I loved every bite. My husband ordered the Wild Boar Bolognese.....which honestly, I thought sounded ugly and awful. But, when it came it smelled wonderful. Husband offered a bite but I declined. He said it was really, really good and I would be sorry so when he offered the second time, I accepted. And, it was very tasty!! Honestly, it tasted like beef to me but much more flavorful with a little bit of something that had a kick to it. Just a little.
We always look at the dessert menu and sometimes we share at the restaurant or take it home. This was our plan on this occasion too but when I saw the Signature Donuts with Java Anglaise Chantilly Cream I knew I would be deviating from the plan. We ate the heavenly, seriously warm and wonderful donuts at the restaurant and took the Gingersnap Crusted Pumpkin Cheesecake home and had it the next night. It was PERFECTION. The taste of Pumpkin was very light and the Cinnamon Chantillly Cream was the perfect topping. We just said WOW.
Our server was excellent as was the rest of the staff. I have only left one other restaurant review in my life but I felt this one needed to be written too.
We had a great experience. Very good food, decent service, although a little pricey.
Anna was our server and really seemed to enjoy her place at Meridian. She was able to answer any questions we had right off the top of her head and made great food and wine suggestions. I made reservations a day early and had a couple special requests... the general manager took us to our table and presented the bottle I had asked to have prepared. 10/10.
Meridian is a wonderful restaurant in the middle of a beautiful neighborhood. The ambiance is lovely, the service was great and the food was delicious-what more could we want?
Dinner and service were top shelf. Would return and recommend.
I love the ambiance and the server, Sarah, was superb. I liked my sautéed foie appetizer but disliked the sweet potato gnocchi intensely. Bland and chewy with stringy bits of something green. A waste of $25. I should stick with the corn puree and my friend's Scotch eggs and then I would be happy. A great place and location but inconsistent food offerings.
Very good service. Catered to our time for a concert that followed the dinner. Delicious meals and dessert.
Fabulous! Elegant meal in a wonderful old home. Quaint fireplace, am zing service, and fabulous food. Lovely birthday lunch with a friend. I strongly recommend this restaurant!
