We returned to the Grill at the Meadowood as we believed that the last time we went it was just an off night. We were right! This time we sat inside as it was already getting dark as we arrived. We brought another couple with us. They had the burger which they said was the best burger they had ever had (and they are in their 70's). Both my husband and I had the chicken breast which was cooked to perfection, juicy and very flavorful. I had the forbidden rice with it. It was my first experience with "black rice" and I loved the nutty and firm texture. Now I want to go back and try the burger.

As usual the service was great. The host did warn us about a large somewhat loud party in a back section of the dining room so we choose a table in the front.

First time at the Grill. Beautiful day, on the deck overlooking the golf course not bad for lunch. Food, service and atmosphere were very good.

We had breakfast at the grill. For an upscale restaurant with very high prices, I was very disappointed. The setting was 5 star, however everything else was below average. We had to ask twice for lemon for water and my husband had to go searching for the waiter to get coffee because it was forgotten. The Eggs Benedict ($20) were served on something equivalent to a toasted hamburger bun, the ham was dry, and the hollandaise sauce was lumpy. The biggest surprise came when my husband asked if he could have a bus quit instead of toast and was not told that an additional $3.00 would be charged, for a biscuit, really! If you like to throw money away for mediocre food this is the place for you, if not, steer clear!

The Grille at Meadowood is one of our "Top Ten" restaurants that we have visited in the world!
My husband and I love the peaceful view outside overlooking the golf and croquet courses.
Our server, Mike, was extremely polished and professional. Everything from our appetizers (mushroom and bacon flat bread) to our entrees (steak) was delicious! Our salad was so fresh we wondered if they grew the lettuce and tomatoes onsite. We celebrated my birthday there last week and returned two nights later to savor another meal at this incredible restaurant. Thank you for making my birthday celebration so special (and yummy)!

We had a 7 pm reservation and while it was still light outside we choose a table on the terrace. It soon became very dark and the table was not illuminated by the outdoor lighting. They should fix that or not put people at that table at night. They brought extra candles but they didn't help and we ended up using our smart phone flash lights to illuminate the area so we could see what we were eating. Our server was very attentive but the food was just OK not as good as in the past. The Chef was very accommodating in that he substituted a marinara sauce in place of a heavy cream sauce in our pasta dish but the pasta, ordered al dente, was till a little soft and on the cool side when served. The hamburger was good but not the special sauce on it. We do have another reservation towards the end of this month and will go back as we are hoping that it was just an off night. And we will eat indoors this time.

Have eaten breakfast and lunch here more than a few times, but had not gone for dinner.
Sitting on the deck look over the course is extremely peaceful if you get there before the restaurant books up. All of the dishes we had were great. I have never raved about Gazpacho before, but what I had the other night was memorable.

Wonderful food, beautiful setting and terrific service. What could be better? Every meal item is farm to table, incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned. Just a distinctive, memorable way to spend one's time. Will definitely return.

We watched the fog from San Francisco clear back over the mountains, the golfers drive to the green and had a wonderful and relaxing brunch. The English Muffins are the best I've had. All of the selections are delicious and delivered perfectly by outstanding wait staff. It couldn't have been more enjoyable.

The waiter made alot of mistakes on our order and he also messed up other people's orders. I kept hearing him apologize.
The food was just ok. I wouldnt go back. There are far too many outstanding restaurants in the area that are better than this.

We stopped here for lunch to charge our Tesla. It was perfect because while we ate a terrific meal our Tesla had time to charge, so we could make it back home. Nestled in the hills, with a view over looking the golf course, we ate inside the air conditioned restaurant, but, the veranda would be nice in more amicable weather. We started Ceviche Salad, light, well seasoned and fresh, Heirloom Tomato Salad- perfectly ripe and balanced,might be the best Heirloom Salad I have ever had, and I've had a lot. I ordered the Salmon w Chic Peas Hummus, which was perfectly done. The hummus, cucumber was a perfect marriage to the scrumptious Salmon. My husband ordered the hamburger, which he said was done excellently. The service was excellent and we will make this a must stop when we come to Napa. Only negative was the noise level. We were seated next to very loud, overly opinionated people.

Considering the reputation of the Meadowood Restaurant, I expected the Grill to be just as exceptional. I thought the salmon was delicious. The use of cucumbers was redundant and the dill sauce underneath was too rich and salty. My husband ordered the ribeye with summer truffles which were ok. We sat outside but the patio lights weren't working so half our eating experience was in the dark!

Beautiful view, wonderful service and delicious food. Doesn't get any better!
