We’ve been several times and they never disappoint. Chef John’s wine choices from the excellent Mayo wines are spot on and truly compliment the food. His food creations are at the same time unique and familiar. Amounts are perfect- we left well satisfied. And very reasonable price. Plus Chef John presents and explains the dishes and what to expect with the interaction with the paired wine. And even though they were busy the pace was just right- not slow, not rushed. Overall, perfect!

This is a gem in Sonoma and a must stop! An experience to be remembered for years to come. The food and wine were outstanding as well as the service and hospitality provided by John and Chris! My favorite pairing was an uncommon varietal, Alicante Bouchet Reserve paired with “Neux Pha Lo” Thai Egg delicious! The two perfectly complimented each other!

If you have yet to try Mayo, what are you waiting for?? For such a small winery, they have an incredible food & wine paring reserve room. A testament to the quality of their wines.
They also have a traditionally tasting room down the road. However, the food pairing here really steps the experience up.

Food was amazing! Small bites to pair with a wine tasting. 7 courses and 7 wines. The chef himself came out with the courses and explained everything about the food and the wines.

First class food with extraordinary pairings to an exceptionally good wide selection of wInes. One of the best foodies experiences in the Greater Bay Area.
The chef serves three courses of small plates, each paired with a Mayo wine. The plates are creative and described by the chef, how the character of the food enhances the flavors of the individual wine being served. One notable aspect is the technique (which the chef does not discuss) - each piece of the ahi tartare is virtually identical in size to each other, as are the roasted potatoes in the taco presentation. A second serving of three small plates, with appropriate wines, are presented, then as a finale a dessert plate is served with a dessert wine.
The menu rotates every two months. In addition, the chef is planning for each course how to accommodate a drop in, last minute need to adapt the menu for a vegetarian or a gluten free customer.
The service is friendly, amusing, unpretentious and superb. The room is quiet, comfortable, simple and pleasant. You feel like a guest in a friend's house who just happens to be a great cook and has a great wine cellar. Everyone I know who has been here, and I've been coming for at least twelve years, loves it.
We picked this winery blind (meaning a Google search) and it is now my new favorite winery. The chef is amazing and paired the wines perfectly.

We had such a great time. The menu and quality of food was great! We appreciated the care and attention from the executive chef and the wines were paired perfectly.
We had three people for a wine and food pairing. Both the wines and the food dishes were excellent. The combination with the two was superb. Our experience lasted about two hours. Our host, John, did a great job and was both fun and knowledgeable. We recommend this experience highly.

This was the most beautiful wine and food pairing that I’ve never been in my life. Believe me as a wine enthusiast I had been on many food pairings but nothing like this. The wine quality and flavors are outstanding by themselves but when you combined the specialized food appetizers they served with these wines you get a complete explosion of flavors in your mouth. This was the out of the body experience I was looking on this wine country. Worth every penny.

Go! This selection of their reserve wines is outstanding (my favs are the Chardonnay and Zin) and the food pairing is not only delicious and gorgeous to look at, but truly brings the wines to life.
