Disappointed... really. Rissoto 30$usd not tasty and ridiculous portions
Truly spectacular as always. Chef Lalo sent us out their tasting menu, and it was memorable on so many levels. Love when you can just slide the menus aside, and let the kitchen send out amazing course after course. It’s a true dining experience, where Chef Lalo lets his ingredients speak so profoundly for his cooking. Always amazing, and always Uber delicious.
Food and taste is amazing; however the restaurant have to improve furniture quality and waiters services. Some times I had to pour some wine by my self, and they didn’t notice it.
My friend & I had a wonderful time. The food is amazing. We focused on the dishes that had more of a modern take on a Mexican food( like the chicken in manchamantelesnmole) rather than things like pasta or risotto. Everything was had was outstanding. And our server gave us helpful and appropriate suggestions, from drinks all the way through the meal. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the service was here and would like to commend our service for making our evening so comfortable. Look forward to returning soon!
Wow......me and my wife went to Maximo for dinner and, what a great food.
We had the honor to meet Chef Eduardo Garcia. Please, skip Pujol, and come straight to Maximo, you will be amazed.
Thanks for the great food and evening.
Great service, was disappointed by the food
Lovely lunch before leaving Mexico City. I enjoyed supurbly prepared sea bass and a citrus pie that was almost too beautiful to eat. Do not miss this culinary delight.
Impeccable service with deliacious food to match. Great ambiance blending fine dining with hip/hop and soul tunes on the speaker.
Most reviews have said service is so-so but food is amazing. I had the opposite experience service was quite. However, the food, wine and drink were mediocre and poor value for price of about $100USD for 4 course tasting with wine pairing. I had very high expectations for this place being that supposedly this is one of Anthony Bourdain favorite restaurants in CDMX but I could not really understand why. The old fashion I ordered was incredibly sweet with tons of syrup in it didn't taste like an old fashion at all, totally drowned out the taste of the 15 yr scotch or the bitters for that matter. We tried the tasting menu and wine pairing and both were disappointing. Firstly we figured for the price of 1000 pesos since it was only 4 courses the tasting dishes would be a bit larger than a typical 7-8 course tasting menu, they were not, it was a very small amount of food. Our first dish was aguachile but it was not spicy at all and had very little flavor. Up next was a braised rib-eye that was pretty good, as well as a soft fish that was the best dish. The dessert was some kind of icecream with a cracker inside wrapped in an edible part of an orange peel, it was quite good as well, but really was expecting more based on the reputation of this restaurant. The wine pairing were also a bit disappointing, for 600 pesos you'd expect to get some older vintages but they were all 2015/2016 and the pours very small. This meal wasn't bad for any means but for the price I don't think its justified compared to other tasting courses in CDMX. The decor is also very bare bones but this place is known for that, so can't really fault them there. Perhaps it would have been better to order off the menu or maybe I just caught them on a weird night.
Phenomenal service, amazing food, and spectacular atmosphere
Everything was outstanding.
Delicious food served at Maximo Bistrot Local. But what a pity they cancel your reservation (made two months earlier!) only for a 13-minute late arrival, and without a warning! And when you dare complain about that ridiculous fact, the personnel's reaction is obnoxious.
Favorite restaurant in CDMX!
Comida super rica y ambient agradable.
D E L I C I O S O ! ! !
Maximo Bistrot is one of the best restaurants in CDMX i love the food and the changing menu. Every time you go its a new experience!
The octopus appetizer was amazing!
Tyme vanilla cream brûlée was very good
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Held reservations for a month for a birthday celebration. No birthday acknowledgement made. Food is spectacular! Caters to a higher end clientele. It would be nice to see more of a mix, considering the owners background. Overall, I would recommend the restaurant.
Amazing food. We had the fixed menu with wine pairing. One of the best dining experiences ever and anywhere.
Great cocktails, great food
Great tasting menu. Highly recommended. Excellent service
Food amazing, service needs work
Lovely way to celebrate our last night in Mexico City! We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Every meat was perfection and the wine was perfect.
Une ambiance conviviale pour une cuisine raffinée. Personnel aux petits soins. Chef très sympathique et passionné.
Food was excellent as always. Ambiance is amazing. Unfortunately this time Service was slow.
I came for a quick lunch while I was in Mexico for spring break. I had heard about the restaurant on the Netflix show Ugly Delicious (as I’m sure many of the other diners had as well.) The quality of the food blew me away. It was so fresh and beautifully presented. The cocktails were just as impressive. I had the mezcalita and margarita and I could have had three more of each. I will be back again next time I’m in Mexico.
We had reservations here for months and were very excited to finally get here. The whole night did not disappoint and exceeded our expectations! Every bite was mesmerizingly delicious and the service was impeccable. Since we live far away, we may never get back to Mexico City, if we do, we will plan to eat here again. This night was one we will remember even when we are very, very old.
Fantastic restaurant with a lot of character and good spin on food. Wonderful place to sit around for an evening with friends!
I’am from Los Angeles, heard about this place from travel show. Wish I known about the other restaurants too (just found out) I can’t wait to come back. I loved my meal (flor de calabaza & the fish, but the cauliflower purée blew me away. I love cooking & will try to imitate Ernesto.
We had the tasting menu and enjoyed the chef's creativity -- a variety of small courses that
included fish, red meat, egg, and unexpected flavor combinations. Every dish was delectable.
Despite being so highly rated, the restaurant was relaxed and unpretentious and the service
friendly and respectful. We loved it.
