Maximo Bistrot is an intimate restaurant in the Roma area that provides guests with Mexican, French and European cuisine. The cozy dining room features dim lighting along with a combination of table and booth seating and large beautiful windows. Maximo Bistrot also provides customers the option of dining indoors or outside on the beautiful street side patio.

The menu offers provide a wide array of options. Menu items include lobster pasta with calamari ink, asparagus with poached egg and hollandaise sauce, ceviche with stone crab and octopus ceviche. There is also a complete bar menu.

Every time we visit Mexico City we make sure to make a stop at Maximo's. This place is simply AMAZING.
The menu changes EVERY DAY, and no matter what we have ordered it is divine! Hopefully, next time we visit the city we will be enjoying at this unique,gem of a restaurant!

Al llegar al restaurante estaba lloviendo y aún así la chica que nos recibió en la entrada nos sentó en la parte exterior cuando se veían algunas mesas desocupadas en el interior. A pesar de que tenían un calefactor en la parte de afuera, no lo prendieron hasta después de un rato.
Pedimos varios platillos que estuvieron bien pero pasaron desapercibidos en cuanto nos trajeron la tabla de triple creme, una delicia, solo por eso valió la pena la visita.

Elegimos el menú de degustación con maridaje, los primeros dos platillos fueron realmente increíbles (carpaccio y la sopa) el pescado y la carne estaban secos y sin sabor, los postres me gustaron realmente, pero algo fatal fue la elección de vino para terminar, ni siquiera tomé un segundo trago y me amargó la boca.

sin duda el chef tiene una buena propuesta culinaria, ahora bien NO entiendo la necesidad de contaminar una extraordinaria proteína con un sabor tan delicado como es el centollo (cangrejo) que debería resaltar por su textura y hacerlo parecer una gordita de plaza plagándolo de salsa de cilantro que a fin de cuentas esconde todo, pésima costumbre herencia peruana o Inca para nuestra gastronomia que es mucho mas delicada esa seria mi única critica lo demás fue espectacular

Pretentious, quality Vs price= poor, for Mexico is pricey, for what you get and some plates are very good some are not well accomplished. Even inside you are constantly disturbed by street vendors. The place looks like a regular Fonda, service is quite bad, you could be even mistreated since they pretend to be snobbish.

Maximo Bistrot was a must-visit on a recent trip to CDMX and it was worth the wait. The food was outstanding and interesting, and they have a great wine and cocktail list. We had a gluten free person in our group, and the options that day for her were somewhat limited, but the staff was helpful in figuring out what was ok. The vegetable appetizers were the highlight of the meal, and the fish dishes we ordered were excellent too. Service wasn't particularly attentive, but definitely adequate.

Truly spectacular as always. Chef Lalo sent us out their tasting menu, and it was memorable on so many levels. Love when you can just slide the menus aside, and let the kitchen send out amazing course after course. It’s a true dining experience, where Chef Lalo lets his ingredients speak so profoundly for his cooking. Always amazing, and always Uber delicious.

My friend & I had a wonderful time. The food is amazing. We focused on the dishes that had more of a modern take on a Mexican food( like the chicken in manchamantelesnmole) rather than things like pasta or risotto. Everything was had was outstanding. And our server gave us helpful and appropriate suggestions, from drinks all the way through the meal. I cannot stress enough how wonderful the service was here and would like to commend our service for making our evening so comfortable. Look forward to returning soon!

Lovely lunch before leaving Mexico City. I enjoyed supurbly prepared sea bass and a citrus pie that was almost too beautiful to eat. Do not miss this culinary delight.

Comida extraordinaria, servicio e instalaciones que no se corresponden.
La atención fue muy lenta, las mesas están sumamente apretadas, de modo que es imposible conversar sin oír todo lo que dicen los comensales de junto. El lugar es obscuro y la comida no se puede apreciar. El pan sale a cuentagotas y dejan esperando por más de diez minutos.
El baño de damas ASQUEROSO, TAPADO Y MALOLIENTE. Tuve que entrar al de hombres.
La comida es suculenta, pero lo demás lo demeritó.

Soy fan de probar los menús degustación de los restaurantes de este tipo, este diría que en comparación con otros de su tipo y por el costo está OK, mejoraría mucho el servicio, los meseros tienen poca capacitación y no saben mucho de los platos.
El menú desgustación en mi opinión le faltó variedad me tocó mucho pescado, todo exquisito y preparado a la perfección, también pedí cosas de la carta y sentí que un platillo de la carta era muy similar en emplatado y sabores del menú degustación.
En general vale la pena por los sabores que sí son muy buenos y de su tipo (menú degustación es de los que tienen el costo más bajo)

Most reviews have said service is so-so but food is amazing. I had the opposite experience service was quite. However, the food, wine and drink were mediocre and poor value for price of about $100USD for 4 course tasting with wine pairing. I had very high expectations for this place being that supposedly this is one of Anthony Bourdain favorite restaurants in CDMX but I could not really understand why. The old fashion I ordered was incredibly sweet with tons of syrup in it didn't taste like an old fashion at all, totally drowned out the taste of the 15 yr scotch or the bitters for that matter. We tried the tasting menu and wine pairing and both were disappointing. Firstly we figured for the price of 1000 pesos since it was only 4 courses the tasting dishes would be a bit larger than a typical 7-8 course tasting menu, they were not, it was a very small amount of food. Our first dish was aguachile but it was not spicy at all and had very little flavor. Up next was a braised rib-eye that was pretty good, as well as a soft fish that was the best dish. The dessert was some kind of icecream with a cracker inside wrapped in an edible part of an orange peel, it was quite good as well, but really was expecting more based on the reputation of this restaurant. The wine pairing were also a bit disappointing, for 600 pesos you'd expect to get some older vintages but they were all 2015/2016 and the pours very small. This meal wasn't bad for any means but for the price I don't think its justified compared to other tasting courses in CDMX. The decor is also very bare bones but this place is known for that, so can't really fault them there. Perhaps it would have been better to order off the menu or maybe I just caught them on a weird night.

Una de las razones de venir a Mexico, era disfrutar de la experiencia de Maximo bistro. De presenciar de primera mano la historia de success del chef, compatriota y paisano emigrante.

Todo estuvo delicioso, inventivo, sin pretensiones, con un acompañamiento de vinos espectaculares.

Delicious food served at Maximo Bistrot Local. But what a pity they cancel your reservation (made two months earlier!) only for a 13-minute late arrival, and without a warning! And when you dare complain about that ridiculous fact, the personnel's reaction is obnoxious.
