The food was delicious! Everything we ate was delicate and divine. Our only disappointment was in the dessert selections. We were very happy!
Really tasty food in a buzzy atmosphere. Would love to go back and try more of the menu.
Todo estaba bien
La comida espectacular. El chef muy amable. Gente conocida. Ambiente agradable.
It was great. The food was delicious and the service attentive.
Great food! Highly recommend when in CDMX. The drinks were fabulous and the food beautiful and exquisite!
Wow. Where do I begin? We started here for our first meal in Mexico City, and we were only left wanting to return every night of our trip! First off, their cocktail menu—yes!!!! So many unique options, and it is listed progressively, starting with aperitifs and and moving through the meal. Both aperitif cocktails we had were AMAZING and unique. We then enjoyed a bunch of small plates, like the octopus ceviche (WOW!), scallop aguachile (MIND BLOWING), the stuffed morel mushrooms with short ribs (so good!) and the roasted beets (most flavorful beet dish we have ever had). We ordered the Red Snapper (huanchinango) for our main, and it was so delicious!! The bread....also equally incredible, and the eggplant spread they bring with it?!? Also one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. Dessert was the most unique and delicious creme brûlée I have ever had as well. Overall, this was one of the most delicious and unique dining experiences we have ever had, and at the price of 1/3 of what you would pay in the States or even at other fine dining establishments elsewhere. Absolutely loved every moment. Can’t wait to go back!
Fantastic cuisine (such delicious food and, oh my God, the desserts as well) and attentive service. . . this is a must in CDMX, no doubt!!
The restaurant offered excellent food at reasonable prices. Standout dishes included the uni avocado toast and octopus ceviche a la Mexicana. And the restaurant was very kind in offering a complimentary slice of cake in celebration of my birthday.
I loved it, since the moment you walk in till the moment you leave, they make you feel special, the attention was good, the food, very delicious, and better service than Rosetta, hands down... to the chef and the staff... will come back again... hopefully soon!!! ❤️
Very good restaurant. We left perfectly full after having enjoyed the set menu. It is not a cheap place, but the quality is generally very high and the ambiance is great. Recommended!
Great place. Amazing food. A bit noisy. I would recommend highly
The good reviews are nothing short of confusing. The food was below average, the price was above average, and the service was awful.
Amazing food, wine and service! I highly recommend.
The food was amazing and the service just the right level of attentive and knowledgeable.
Best food and great service. Cocktails are top notch. Really affordable considering what it is and what you get
I had high expectations as it is so highly rated and did not achieve my expectations
Extremely loud, very close to a large group
If you sit outside TIP the street musicians that play for you!
We were American visitors. This was the best place in CDMX. Everyone said go to Pujol. And yeah, that was great. But for pure quality, Maximo was better. Flavor, preparation, attention to detail — all better. And a better meal at 1/3 the price equals a must-try place.
We tried Maximo Bistrot, like so many others, because we have heard great things about it from fellow American travellers. The tostada was delicious and the homemade breads were warm and fresh. My jamaica margarita was exceptional. The beef tartare was better than average, but the caviar on top added little to the flavor. Its a small restaurant and there are a lot of ex-pats here, which kind of kills the ambiance. Then again, it's a problem that we Americans have created. Can't fault them for that. Would I recommend it? Yes, but there are other places I would recommend first.
Loved the food and service! It was truly enjoyable. Between all 5 dishes we have, the most memorable was the Nogchi potato pasta with Ragú pork sauce. Absolutely order that dish.
Lovely food and brilliant service. Massively impressed with Maximo Bistrot
I was disappointed overall. I saw Maximo Bistro on Anthony Bourdain and made a reservation weeks in advance. The service was great, but for such high prices I would expect great flavors and didn’t really find any. One of the dessert servings was really good, but another was not at all. I wanted to like it, but it came up short for me and definitely wasn’t worth the high prices.
This was a very average meal with really scattered and unprofessional service.
The bean soup was great, but both of our entrees were nothing special. I had the mushroom risotto, which relied completely on the cheese sprinkled on top for flavor. My mom had red snapper, which was in a broth that had very little flavor.
The service was terrible. There were 5 waiters, none of whom seemed to have any idea what they were doing. They were also unfriendly. At the end of the meal, they counted the money right at the table, and didn't say thank you for dining until they finished counting the money.
I've never experienced that before. The whole thing was embarrassing as it was my suggestion we go there. Not a good way to end my time in Mexico City.
We had a very great visit with excellent food. Especially the mussles were magnificent. The only claim is that the serving happend too fast, and we had to ask them to slow it down. This might be a preference from our site.
We both had the tasting menu. We added the pulpo (octopus) cevichi. Everything was outstanding. No weak links. The waiter said we'd have 4 plates but I think we had at least 6. One course was scallops. We each were served one half of a scallop. Kind of weird but it was the best scallop I ever had. One course was waygu (spelling) beef. Very nice portion and really yummy. Cocktails were great too.
Top notch food, good decor BUT, too dark, too noisy, and service rushed and brusque. Also got segregated into the "gringo room" so why bother going to mex to eat???
