Very fun experience and great food! Everyone was also very friendly and helpful.
This place had delicious options throughout the menu, for all types of eaters picky or not! Their dessert menu is also amazing you can’t leave without it! Prices are good for the quality of food, definitely would go again.
The manger is awful he is so busy not helping the customers. I would file a complain but i dont have time. The place was having good reputation but no its going down. Will bit go there again not recommend
The place is understaffed so I’m trying to be understanding. But we were the second people to be sat on Saturday and we watched several tables receive their food before us. If it wasn’t just me and my 5 year old there I would have maybe let it go. But she ordered waffles and they came out cold and hard. And my panini was soggy and the plate was piping hot, which tells me it had sat in the window for some time. It was how stigma kind of depressing in there. My bill was $50–def not worth the price. No need to return.
The experience was nice. Our waitress Lauren was awesome. Food was very subpar. Drinks were great. Would recommend for something sweet but definitely not a dinner.
I thought it was going to be a little more upscale. But everything was good.
Returning guest here! Service was great and it is a fun playful atmosphere. Food was delicious except the baked cookie dream was a bit less than a dream. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese and fondue !
We had a delicious and beautiful brunch! Perfect day after Christmas meal! We loved everything!
We went out to eat for Christmas ever. We had a reservation for 7 but they got us in earlier. Service and food were great. Will be back again.
Good food. Good service. Always have a good time there.
Perfect birthday night out for my 7 year old!
Every time we go to Max Brenner we have a great time. It was out daughter's birthday. Great night.
When walked in, many tables had not been bused yet and it looked gross. We were told we had to wait about 5-10 minutes for our table which seemed strange because if the tables had been cleaned we would have been seated on time. After we ordered it took over 45 for our food to come out and it came out one at a time, first the kids, then my husband 5 minutes later and me 10 minutes later. My daughter ordered the mac and cheese which was supposed to come with a tomato sauce of some kind. She likes tomato sauce/soup with her mac and cheese which is why we ordered it. When her meal came out, and we asked where the tomato sauce was, the server said she didn't bring it because most kids don't like it or eat it. That's not your place to make that call if I am paying for it. So she brings it out after we remind her two times and the tube of tomato sauce is literally ice cold. My daughter puts the sauce on not knowing it's freezing and it ruins her meal. So we had to ask the server to bring out something else since the sauce wasn't served hot. The rest of the food came out fine, but clearly something is wrong in kitchen. My husband and I tried to be understanding since Covid has affected many restaurants but the whole meal was filled with glaring issues. The only thing that came quickly was the check and the server tried to breeze through the check super quick on the screen and my husband had to stop her and tell her to let him read everything to make sure we were accurately charged. Having the server standing there with an ipad and your check on the screen is extremely awkward since you are forced to decide a tip in front of the person. Maybe we would like to discuss the tip privately without them standing there? What was supposed to be a nice meal that we had done for years before Covid and first time since Covid began turned into a really unpleasant experience for the whole family. Needless to say, we won't be going back or recommending to anyone again.
Service was extremely slow, all tables were filthy when we arrived for our 12 o’clock reservation. We waited 40 minutes for a seltzer water and over an hour for our food.
What a fun treat for all things chocolate. Good breakfast, brunch, lunch menu variety. Seating is not very comfortable but the food and service make up for it.
My granddaughter ate the most waffles (of course the ice cream and pour your own chocolate syrup helped) I have seen her eat. She wanted to go back for more later in the day.
Having been here before, we were excited to go for brunch, however, they couldn't make anything with eggs because there was no one there to cook them which eliminated many choices for food. Our waitress, while very kind and welcoming, kept forgetting to log what we ordered and one person in our party never got their food. We understand many restaurants are short staffed; we would have like to have been notified when we sat down that many items on the menu were unavailable.
This meal was a very unfortunate experience. We sat next to the door, and it was freezing, despite a relatively empty restaurant. Our food was cold and poor quality, and it came out at all different times. My husband’s steak was raw inside. The server was nice, but was hard to track down when we needed something. We don’t think we will be back.
It is basically a burger joint with fun desserts; if they put a little more effort into the food it would be a much better experience; and don’t be a vegan there; the salad was weak too
But my son loved it so I know we’ll be back; here’s hoping it’s better
The kids loved it!
Despite a vast menu of delicious food, the service and ambiance were poor.
So disappointing! First, the inflated prices are just unjustified since the food is less than mediocre. Friday night place was half full took so long for our food (chicken fingers!) that we did not have time for dessert which is the whole reason we went there pre- Nutcracker. I realize the restaurant industry is still recovering from pandemic but Pizza place down the street seems to have it together so time we will go with good pizza and gelato. I’m sorry maybe the one in NY is better but Philly outpost is grungy, understaffed, overpriced, and unappealing.
We were planning to have dinner at Max Brenner and then go to The Nutcracker at the Academy of Music. Five of us, two of us kids. So excited. So stuck in traffic. So late. I phoned ahead and they said they’d do their best. They certainly did. Seated us right away, took our orders, and the kids even had time for dessert. And so nice about it all.
My daughter and I have gone here often, especially when we do the Nutcracker. This year was disappointing. I know there’s a staffing shortage. So trying to be understanding.. it was dirty. Tables not cleaned timely. This used to
B such a nice place to come too. Sad.
We ordered the sharing fondue. When it arrived everything was cold. In fact, it seemed as though it was frozen and thawed. The menus were dirty, the walls were dirty, the tables were uneven and sticky. We haves loved Max Brenner for years, but sadly we will not ever return.
I should have looked at the reviews before coming here. I used to LOVE this place. The food and ambiance were always very good and welcoming. The food takes FOREVER to get to you, so if you don’t want to be there for more than an hour and half, don’t even bother going there. Also, I had a problem with the manager and instead of understanding our issue, he kept trying to argue back and forth with us. Probably won’t be back unless it’s to a different location.
The waitress Amber was very rude .
Slammed our payment on the table since the tip wasn’t what she expected. The manager laughed with her instead of correcting her behavior . I will never return .
It was 11:30 AM and they were out of eggs.
Menu was limited, but staff was GREAT! Would recommend!
We took our 4 year old son here for a special Christmas meal/brunch. Unfortunately due to understaffing the restaurant was unable to provide any dishes that included eggs. I can understand the staffing issues - they’re pretty well-publicized for the restaurant industry. But we ended up having to eat mains for brunch - not what we had in mind at all. I can’t understand why the staff they did have wouldn’t prioritize making eggs during brunch and then pivot to mains later (we arrived right when they opened at 10am). The server was lovely and did her best but it was a very disappointing experience. The restaurant was clean-ish but looked quite shabby. Big bummer. As we came from out of town, we’ll not be back. And should we see a Max Brenner in another city we are visiting, we’ll skip it.
Ryan our water was great. Went before our show at the Walnut Street and enjoyed great timing as we beat the crowd and had a great meal.
The place was extremely dirty - and this was for a 5pm seating. Looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in years.
Fun atmosphere with lovely server. Food was wonderful, especially the Chocolate Mess for Two. Will definitely be back.
This was a lackluster experience for my party of 7. The wait time for the food is substantially long. We dined at 4:45 so it was not busy nor a dinner rush. We didn’t get our meal until 5:50. How disappointing! The portion sizes were extremely small. This restaurant wasn’t fancy enough or gourmet enough to send out portions as small as they arrived. Last time dining here
Staff was friendly and service was
great even though they were short staffed. We had burgers and dessert before a show and would be happy to come back anytime.
There was a black curly hair in my food. The manager was great. He took the salad with hair off our bill, but it took 2 hrs in total to eat. I had young kids so we couldn’t stay for dessert which was the whole reason we went. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant so I’m unclear what took so long.
Food was ok, dessert was good, service was ok. Restaurant was too cold
Service was very slow. Nearby tables were left with dirty dishes the entire time we were there.
Other than the onion rings the food was not great, nobody at our table finished their meals. Desserts were not bad NOT great. Service was ok
I definitely recommend this restaurant. For any occasion it is great and the food might be a bit limited compared to others but it is delicious. Unfortunately we finished the food and had no room for dessert. Will go again just for maybe apps and dessert to fit that in!!
