Entrees were very good. The mousse was confusing. Kyle was very helpful as our server.
2nd time there & everything was just as good as the last time! Already want to go back again!!!
Love the atmosphere and kid friendly vibe at this restaurant, but our food was not very good. I thought the prices were ridiculous for the quality and quantity of the food served. I had the caprese chicken sandwich, which was ok, but it only came with 4 small waffle fries. I could have had a better sandwich with double the fries for half the price at chic-fil-a! My kids had the kid's pizza and it was terrible. Neither child ate it. My husband's steak was not cooked at all the way he ordered so he barely ate that. Desserts were decent, but not served at the same time. Our server was very pleasant. The bathroom line was ridiculous since there were only two stalls.
Service was extremely slow. Our server was very apologetic..we might have caught them on a busy day where they had less staff. The food made up for everything else.
Come only for dessert. If you like chocolate you'll have a hard time choosing what to order. Dinner was mediocre and service was very slow, and it wasn't even very crowded.
My daughter wanted to come here for her birthday remembering it from years ago. Food was good, dessert was great.
Really good place the staff were very welcoming and the girl (didn't catch the name) with the green top was very welcoming, found out specific requirements for us (I.e. alcohol present) and went out of her way to help us. To top it off she was absolutely gorgeous (call me).
Our server Ryan was incredibly slow. He did not bring what we ordered to the table...basically forgot about us. It took over 25 mins for our dessert to arrive and we had to ask for the coffee we ordered with it twice. The food was not worth what you get charged.
For a second year in a row, we came here to celebrate my choco-holic husband's birthday. The menu has changed slightly, as the dessert he had and really enjoyed last year was no longer available. He was disappointed in that. Overall, our meal was delicious and a good value for city dining!
Max Brenner is great for special occasions and when you want to eat somewhere with great dessert! If you go, you definitely need to splurge and get dessert. It is their speciality.
The server was the best part. Amazing deserts but main course was over priced and not cooked properly. Other then that it was a very nice time.
Took our granddaughter there after the theater. Not a big dinner selection but what we got was great. Dessert was outstanding.
This was my third visit to Max's place, it had been years since my last visit and it has completely gone downhill (to say the least). Details follow:
-Service was terribly disappointing.
-Table was disappointing for 3 people.
-Children's meal was overcooked and disappointing.
-Waiting area was disappointing.
-Overall experience was highly disappointing!
We made reservations for dinner before going to see Aladdin. Despite having a reservation we still had to wait 15 minutes for a table. The decibel level was so loud you could barely hear yourself think. You had to yell to communicate with the waitress and your dinner guests.
There was always a line for the bathroom which was dirty.
However we all enjoyed our food. Although the open flame for toasting marshmallows seems like a law suit waiting to happen, the girls enjoyed it very much. And of course the chocolate was delicious.
I would go back as well as recommend
First up: Service I made reservation for 7:15pm but they couldn’t sit our party right away because many of the diners were lingering longer than expected. Not necessarily the restaurants fault, there was a heat wave going on and I would have lingered linger myself. When they finally did seat us my booth had been wiped down but not dried so I sat down in my Linen dress and immediately it got it wet. It took a while to get someone to give me a dry cloth to wipe it down. Service was extremely slow but server was pleasant.
Food: I had the Alfredo with chicken and it was just so so, nothing bad to write about it but nothing good either. The onion rings are the bomb! Perfectly cooked and come with a dipping sauce of what I would say was Ranch plus chocolate powder...very good. The other three diners in my party got salads and they all raved about how good they were. Two got Quinoa salads and one Caesar.
Drinks: Best chocolate martinis in town bar none!
We had heard about Max Brenner from a friend and decided to give it a try. It was something different from an ordinary dining experience, but fun. The food was great and the kids loved the atmosphere and dessert!
My date and I had a great time. The food was great, the atmosphere was great. Would recommend to all.
Went for dessert and drinks and it was great!
The restaurant was dirty the wait staff slow , the food was over cooked and in eatable. I will not frequent this establishment again.
We had a reservation for 5, which included 3 kids. When we arrived, the hostess (s), there were 4 standing there just taking names and checking reservations. The restaraunt was EMPTY, however, no one was being seated. When parties came in without a reservation they were told the wait would be at least an hour. Remember, the restaraunt was totally empty. People were seated very slowly, it seemed no one that worked at the desk knew what to do. We were seated at the back, by the kitchen and bathrooms and when we asked to move to an empty table toward the front of the restaraunt we were told they were being held for reservations. When I told the hostess we had reservations we were told there would be others sitting at those tables. WHEN WE LEFT THERE WERE TABLES IN THE FRONT THAT WERE STILL OPEN. I do want to say that our server was wonderful and made the experience good. The food was fun and good, however, the other employees (hostesses) did put a damper in the beginning. Customer service is important and the folks in the front are essential to start the experience!
We took my kids here before a show on Sunday. I had been before and had a great experience. Things were a little off on Sunday. We had 11:45 reservations but arrived 15 minutes early. The hostess checked us in but waited until 11:45 to seat us, even though the table she sat us at was available and open at 11:30? So not really sure why that happened... it wasn't overly crowded, so I am not sure why she had to wait to seat us. Once seated it took about 10 minutes for someone to come over and take our drink order. Once that was sorted out and we finally got drinks, things got better. They had messed up our order and brought out the wrong entree, but were very quick in correcting it and very apologetic. The rest of the meal and service were much better. The food was delicious. It was a neat experience for my kids! Aside from the hostess and initial service, things improved, and we were happy with the experience.
Loved the waffle fries and dessert was incredible!
Seeing a show
Service was very good. We arrived 45 minutes earlier than our reservation, but they were able to seat us within 15 minutes. Our server was very personable and attentive. The food was good. My picky-eater son gobbled his down. And the dessert choices are amazing...almost too hard to decide. My only negative was the size of the tables, especially as some of the dishes come out on large or elaborate plates/trays. For a party of 3, we seemed to be at a table meant for 2, and we had to juggle things around to make them all fit on the table. But, I would definitely go again, for another special occasion.
We enjoyed lunch for three before our show at the Merriam Theater. Brunch for two and burger for one. Highly recommend the Chocolate Martini! Eggs were fluffy, sausage fresh. Neapolitan Toast was scrumptious, just crispy enough and not overly sweet. The burger was cooked as requested, big and juicy. Service was prompt and courteous. Overall, highly recommend Max Brenner's. Note that this was visit was quick for us, but they can get very busy and service can be slower, so be sure to leave enough time.
Long wait for food and service.
Medium well burger that was raw. Rude and clueless waitress. Overpriced Applebee’s.
My granddaughter and I were going to the Academy of Music. Grandchildren love going to Max Brenner’ cause it is such a fun place ! We were seated within ten minutes and we were a little early.
We had a table for two by the Walnut Street window..... fun watching all the people walking by!
Our male server (wish I remembered his name)
was cheerful and polite to my ten year old granddaughter and me!
He was the best.
Our meal was served quickly and guacamole on a blt is awesome..... then the chocolate dessert!!
There was a family with 4 little ones across from us and what fun watching them enjoy their waffle ice cream dessert and goodies!
What a fun night for my granddaughter and me Thank you!👍👍👍
Great with kids. Service was outstanding and good value. Food was above average and chocolate options were superb and tasty.
Food was great! Our waitress was wonderful and very attentive to my 8 year old little cousin. Great experience. It was a little loud, but overall a great experience.
Love the desserts😍
Disappointed. Nice ambiance and friendly service. Food prep slow. Entrees small portions , lukewarm.
Desserts ok but expensive and I expected more.
Father’s Day lunch
It was a decadent , chocolate lovers dream place.
Dessert after a play. No one in the place. Slow service. Had to send my ice water glass back because it was dirty, then had to send my wine glass back because it was dirty. The ice cream had no flavor. Don’t waste your time and money at this one.
The hostess stand left a lot to be desired and were very rude. Luckily our waitress was amazing and made the evening much better. She should be training everyone!
We had a reservation and we were sat 10-15 mins after our reservation time. The restaurant was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation. Waitress told us she was too busy and we probably wouldn’t see much of her. Food quality was average. People rave about this place, maybe just a bad experience?
Had a reservation, took them forever to get a table ready for us. The food wasn't very good and it was loud.
This was a family date night for our small family of three. When we got to the restaurant we were about 10 minutes early for our open table reservation, we were told they would be right with us, however 10 minutes After our scheduled reservation, we still had not been seated. The hostess/reception service was fairly terrible, so when we sat down we weren’t the happiest. However... once our waiter came over, we quickly relaxed and he completely made up for the terrible hostesses. Our meal from start to finish was phenomenal and worth every bit of the hassle at the beginning. Everything from our drinks to our dessert was amazing. Our bill was pretty high, however the smiles on everyone’s faces made it a total non-issue. If you’re going out for a special time, this is an awesome place to go, just be prepared for some hostesses that pretty much have no craps to give about your reservation, they’ll seat you when something is available and in order of arrivals. Overall, we’d go here again in a heartbeat regardless of the initial service experience.
