The staff were very nice and welcoming. The tables were very small and could’ve been bigger. The food was pretty good. The white chocolate green tea was really good. Our waiter checked up on us a lot.
Met an old friend for dinner. Started early, nice and quiet for a while. Service was excellent and very flexible in not rushing us, yet readily accessible. Finally two tables of large noisy parties arrived destroying a conversational atmosphere. Food was well-portioned and tasty. I have been here once before, and will go again.
Came here for a birthday brunch. This was our first time. and can't say we will be back. I was very disappointed in the overall atmosphere and service. When thinking of a chocolate bar/restaurant, you immediately picture something warm and inviting and comfortable. The space was cold (literally, the AC was on full blast), decor was dark, outdated. Tables were very close together (we were squeezed into a corner between two tables, a door, and a window). The menus were dirty - sticky, dried chocolate on one, another was dripping wet (obviously just wiped down, but very sticky/slimy and gross). Server was fine - but did not introduce herself, and let us know more than once she was very busy (the place was half empty.. and she may have had one other table), advised they were out of ketchup at one point, and had to check twice with the bar to see if they were stocked for my request for a glass of wine (this was at 12:30 PM) which ultimately cost me $17. The cappuccino was tasty - but my daughter's chocolate milkshake was half-melted by the time it got to us, and served in a dirty, sticky cup. Breakfast (french toast and sausage) was depressing. Sausage was chewy (and tough to cut). French toast looked OK (but only half was eaten). Brenner burger was decent (but came out rare/mid-rare to a mid-well/well done order request). Kid's chicken fingers were the best thing we tried. We skipped dessert - one, our server never checked back in after we had our meals, or offered; two, it just wasn't worth it. For the $100 spent, we could have gone anywhere else in the city for a much better experience. Especially to celebrate a birthday (to which no acknowledgment or special attention was given, although it WAS requested in our reservation). We will not be returning.
Very disappointed with our experience. The worst service we have ever had. Sever took 10 minutes to come and to take our order. Food took 30 minutes. Both dishes came without bagels and potatoes although included per menu. When questioned, our server replied that we already had our bagels (we asked for bread for our son since food was taking so long). She also charged us for those bagels that were supposed to be included in the dish and refused to give us potato (also included per menu).
We left and went to Cheesecake Factory that had amazing food and stellar service.
Never coming to Max Brenner again.
The service was slow and the food not very good. Our pizza appetizer came out first and was the highlight of the meal. The salads were small and average. I ordered the chicken cheese steak and it arrived with no cheese. My friend had a burger medium well and at best it was medium rare. I was told they would totally remake my chicken as it also looked like they had done a poor job attempting to find enough chicken to put in it. All the kitchen did was return the same plate 5 minuets latter with some cheese sauce that looked and tasted like cheese wiz. Our make your own sundaes were pleasing to look at but the ice cream was fair at best and the cones were stale. Not really seeing why one would want to go back. Waitress joked that she hoped the desert made up for my chicken. Nope it didn’t.
It was an excellent experience. I love to go back there every now and then..
Great burgers and I like the build your own ice cream. The waffle fries and good and spicy.
Food was delicious, well prepared and nice presentation. Henry, our server, was attentive with perfect timing for all aspects of our meal. Our only negative issue was with the hostess who was nasty and condescending.
I had come here for my birthday from a friends recommendation raving about their dessert menu.
I had a reservation and was sat at a tiny round table for 3 people(really should be for 2). Our server was great and made as mush space as possible on the table every time she came by. The place was very noisy, we could barely speak to each other. The presentation of our drinks, dinner, and dessert was great, really unique, but space consuming on these small tables. I barely had room for my silverware and napkin on the table. I noticed another server with long blonde hair working without her hair tied back. There are so many options for dessert so it’s great for sharing. Overall, my experience was ok, I would probably recommend this place if it was a larger party so the table could be bigger.
I have enjoyed many visits here but was somewhat disappointed this time. I understand that menus change but some of the great standards are missing. The list of waffle sandwiches are missing the delicious roast beef and cubano selection. Mac and Cheese is now limited to one selection. It appears that things have shifted from possibly a restaurant to a sandwich shop as entree choices are also limited. For first or second timers this is a fun, fresh experience, for returning fans maybe not so much. Maybe lesson learned is have dinner elsewhere with dessert here. Sadly this is not how it used to be. You could count on an all around, all inclusive experience.
Enjoyed their restaurant week menu. Food was good. Especially loved the dessert.
I came here hoping that the food would be as good as the drinks, however, the food was pretty terrible. I ordered Alfredo and I could have (in fact, I HAVE) made better Alfredo than this. I was very disappointed because the noodles were hardly cooked and the sauce was almost as if it came out of the jar. The only time I'll ever be back is to try the dessert menu because it looked pretty good, hopefully it is not as disappointing as the food was.
Went with four of my friends to get the dessert and it was amazing! We got icecream, milkshakes, and fondue and we all loved it. Would definitely recommend to anyone!
The hostess was terrible she lied and had us waiting for half hour. The waiters were awesome. I did reach out to the manager about not seating us for a half hour and then seating others, but all she said was that she would talk to the hostess. No apology so I do not recommend this restaurant nor will I ever go back.
It was very loud, food wasnt that great. Got charged twice 👎🏾
I wish I remembered our waitresses name because she was by far my favorite waitress I’ve had in a long time. She had dark hair and her make up was done really well. We sat in the center and were facing the register the waitstaff uses. (Hopefully that helps get the credit to the waitress) Everything about the experience was amazing and I would definitely go back.
We took my mother-in-law to Max Brenner for her birthday because she LOVES chocolate. We must say that none of us were disappointed! The food, drinks, and service were top notch.
This is a great place for fun, food and everything down the line. Any occasion it’s amazing
We were recommended to this restaurant and I’m glad we went. Although, we have children - we found this place to be a nice family spot with delicious food. Their waffle fries with bacon and cheddar were amazing! We would definitely return to this restaurant!
The food is good but the tables are way too small for everyone’s plates
Mind blowing. Me and my bestfriend were there for a total of an hour. The food was amazing as where the drinks. They even cater to someone like me who has food sensitivities. We plan on going back for her bday.
Dinner was surprisingly the best part. I had the spicy primavera and my wife had the wings. Both were excellent. The chocolate hazelnut milkshake I had was very tasty but when it came to the classic fondue we were disappointed. Half the bananas were bruised beyond the point of being edible and the chocolate chip cookie was stale. We asked for a few more strawberries since we had so much chocolate left and were told extra was "like $4" for a bowl, ok sure we don't want to waste the chocolate so we got them. First bowl came out with something weird in the bottom, looked like oatmeal. Second bowl came out suspiciously looking like the first bowl just cleaned out. That kind of turned us off so we just didn't eat them, and turned out the were $5. The service was mediocre at best. Our waiter seemed to look past us often and when he was at tables right next to us he would turn so that he didn't look at us or walk our direction. It was a bit off-putting. I will add a picture of our bill which shows how he kind of rudely circled only the tip portion of my check, maybe I look like I don't have money?
Food was delicious. Drinks were great. Server was very good.
Outstanding service and amazing food. I always look forward to eating there and have made great memories. Thank you for the service and the great environment.
Came with my daughters and 2 young granddaughters on Saturday. Everyone was very happy with their
choices, and the shared chocolate fondue was a huge hit.
So good, perfect for my daughter's birthday! Our server was excellent!
The ambient noise was too much to hold a normal conversation among family members.
Great place for a group dinner and dessert!
Food was awesome. Fun for our grandson to paint his ketchup onto his burgers. Mac and cheese burger, waffle cheesesteak. Yum. Somehow made room for dessert. More expensive than I anticipated but the food was great.
Our group went for dessert and Max Brenner did not disappoint! We shared a dessert pizza and a decadent fondue. So delicious and fun! Highly recommend this place to satisfy a sweet tooth.
the desserts are not only delicious but adorable presented, loved it!
The desserts are great, but the main dishes leave a bit to be desired, especially for the price.
It was dope. That is why my son says the waitress was great and the special spicy pasta they made and the pizza was very good. My kids were impress. This I s Jonathan the kid the pasta prices without the sauce usually isn’t good but yours are great and sauce is too.
Max Brenner is a great place to celebrate a birthday with a group of friends!
New job moving to Michigan
Awesome little place. It was really noisy, and you were seated really close to other people. But the food was amazing.
I picked this restaurant to celebrate my bday as I had been to the one in nyc a few years ago and had a wonderful experience.
This was a great letdown!
The food portaions were very small and sloppy. WAY overpriced for what you received.
The deserts were actually an embarrassment. Again way overpriced and came up VERY short of the elaborate menu discrimination.
The restaurant was not too unclean but the bathrooms were gross. We arrived at 6pm on a Fri and there was hardly anyone there yet the bathrooms were very dirty.
Our server was nice but not very attentive.
Went with my family for dessert. The Italian hot chocolate was my favorite thing. My family enjoyed the s’mores sundae. The fondue was just okay and the mud pie was alright.
We had a great birthday dinner and our Waiter Nick was really great! He made my daughters bday desserts so special and was super friendly and attentive. Food was delicious!
