We had great service but the food was waaaaay too salty. Think tablespoons of salt instead of teaspoons. The music was a little funny too - a little too upbeat considering our dining area was filled with mostly couples having quiet conversations. On the plus side, terrific servers and delicious bread pudding.

Martine remains one of my favorite Salt Lake City restaurants. I love the options the menu has to offer from small plates to full course dinners. The $40 three course menu was tempting but we were on our way to the ballet so we didn't feel like we had time to fully enjoy it, which means we will be returning soon.

Martine is just lovely. I feel like I'm back in New York City, sitting in a brownstone and Jazz is playing and people are enjoying delicious hand crafted food, feeling totally engaged in their conversations. The booths are tall and you feel like you are the only ones there.

This was a special birthday lunch for a friend and though it was all fine, it lacked the 'something special ' I was hoping for. Thy did not have desserts which I understand for a mostly downtown business lunch place but had hoped....
I love Martine's in the evening but the lunch was not particularly exciting and I wouldn't travel downtown to go there again

One of our favorite restaurants in SLC. The location can't be beat for any downtown entertainment venue (particularly the Eccles, which is right next door). The food is always excellent and creative, and the wine list is very good.

We found this gem by chance. It was perfect for business, conversation. The food was fantastic, the wine list was small but very adequate to our needs and tastes, including a near-winesnob. It would be fantastic for a small group or intimate date, also. We were visiting, but noted the restaurant had several tables of "regulars" who were enthusiastic about "their" restaurant. i would be so lucky to have such a gem located near me!

Always love Martine's! The food is exceptional! Small plates and entrees - both are different and tasty! We often come before going to the Eccles theater and we are always happy with the choice.

We have been her twice and every time the food is outstanding! This restaurant offers main entrees as well as small plates that allow you to mix and match a meal. They also offer special cocktails and have an excellent wine menu. The ambience offers nice private areas as well as room for larger groups. The wait staff are friendly and helpful and we were able to eat quickly enough to make it to the theatre on time.

Don't let one disappointed diner keep you away. Martine has become our go-to place before the theatre and we haven't been disappointed. We like the variety, ambiance, great wait staff and location. My husband is very picky and always finds something he likes. He also tends to complain about prices but not at Martine. One of the few truly romantic settings left in downtown Salt Lake City.

We requested to sit in a nice secluded booth for two. It made the dining so personal and private. However, there were small tables very close to each other and here it is louder and I would not want to sit there. We had excellent service and never felt like we were waiting to be tended to. Drinks, silverware and dinner served with perfect timing. I was even 15 min late and called to check if we would still be served. There was no pressure which took the frustration off.

I’ve eaten here before twice on trips to Salt Lake and enjoyed it, but the food and wine were even better than I remembered last Friday. Our group of five tried a variety of imaginative dishes, and everyone raved about their choices. My duck breast was the best I’ve ever tasted! We ordered modestly priced wines that were excellent. The waiter was knowledgeable and friendly. My one reservation was that the waitstaff were a bit eager to clear our plates.

Not impressed with our male server, who seemed stoned at the time. Never checked on us and told us the "soda machine is running" so he couldn't get us a coke. Garlic chips were good, but greasy.

Went for the dine-o-round, but ended up mostly ordering from the regular menu since it all looked delicious, and definitely exceeded our expectations. Generous portion sizes. The pork belly appetizer, prosciutto-wrapped pork entree, and lemon posset dessert were our favorites.

We went for lunch and the service was horrible. My daughter brought her very well behaved baby and I guess they don't like families. We felt almost invisible. I've enjoyed this restaurant for many years. Shame, I will not be back.

This is now my wife's and my favorite restaurant. I don't know how long it is been in business but for some reason I have never noticed it. I looked for romantic restaurants on the Internet and it popped up. Every aspect of our dining experience was wonderful. The ambience was romantic, I could engage in a conversation which is usually difficult for me at a restaurant. The food was outstanding. We had several "small plates" which were all delicious and not so small. The waitress was very pleasant but not intrusive. We will definitely go back soon.

Enticing menu, always new and different options but for pleasure, not just the sake of change.
The dishes are sometimes innovative to me, but not weird. They use high-quality, fresh ingredients. I like that the plates are beautiful but not over composed. Personally, fussy plates make me think of other people touching my food-not a good thing. We ordered everything on the Dine O Round menu and loved each dish. Can't say that for the other 2 restaurants where we tried the same offer. Martine offered a great dining experience. We are going back more often!

Convenietely located close to the Eccles Theatre. Charming ambiance in this beautiful old brownstone. Waitress was knowledgeable and very helpful in recommending a selection of food for our first time.

The salad options were intriguing and if the others were as delicious as the two we choose I really don't think we could have gone wrong. The greens were fresh and savory and the condiment combinations worked surprising well.

The small plate brussel sprouts were perfectly GRILLED and the drizzle of sauce and sprinkle of cheese was tasty.

We shared the tender pork medallions which were served with a compote of olive oil and some sort of green spice; delicious and a nice change from the traditional applesauce.

All and all a great evening. We will definitely return.

Reservation was respected - we were seated immediately. Tapas and drinks were perfect. One steak and one side were not the quality I expected given the rest of our meals. The server was attentive and ensured we were on time to our event. He really did an excellent job.

I have been here before and will return again - I just won't order the steak.

Right next door to the Eccles Theater - perfect for downtown SLC pre/post event dining.

I've been there for dinner two times, lunch twice as well. The first dinner experience was marred by overly salty soup and also overly salty chicken. I felt I should give it another try before leaving the review was tempted to leave. Glad I did, my second experience was delightful in terms of food and service. I will now recommend Martine
