Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse - Indianapolis
Friday & Saturday: 5:30pm - 11pm, Sunday 5:30-10pm.
I'm sad to say that they are shuttering Sunday.
The food was excellent. The service was top notch which made the night out with family and friends that much better. This was the first time there while in town for the race. I will definitely return.
I have done quite a bit of traveling and indulging in local cuisine is certainly a highlight of those experiences for me. Thus, I was rather excited when I heard about the Chef's globally inspired menu that is flexible and changes as it focuses on soul food from different regions of the world.
Overall, the food and cocktails are both tasty and presented well. The service is also good. I am not a fan of the ambiance and would say it is mediocre at best. After my two dining experiences here, I would suggest it is worth trying if interested. However, if I were personally planning a dinner out this would not be at the top of my list. I can rattle off several other dining options that I feel are more worth the price tag.
Our meal here was excellent. We love the rotating menu (May 2017 it was Spain/Mexico). All of the food was delicious, cocktails were tasty, and the service was stellar. Our server really went out of his way to explain and help out with choices.
Wonderful great service
Went here for Mother's Day celebration. Had a great time. The menu was Latin American themed. We tried the radishes, venison, and cactus - all delicious. For dessert, definitely recommend the pay de queso - the candied papaya was a unique touch.
Everything was very good although the big plates were priced too high considering content. The wine pours were a bit stingy. I usually get the whole bottle but only wanted one glass that night and the pour size could have easily produced 8 + glasses from a bottle. One suggestion would be if you have only 5 of a particiular item listed on your menu, make it a special and not list it on the menu.
Food was pricier than the Open Table app would have led me to believe, which I wouldn't have minded had it tasted just a bit better.
I had the quail, my wife had the soft shell crab. Both were well prepared and full of fresh ingredients, but lacked flavor and, especially, spice. I didn't expect bland.
The music was loud enough that we needed to seriously raise our voices to talk.
I will say that the bartenders seemed to be especially skilled and well liked by those at the bar.
Marrow has potential, but they need to whip out some heat. More importantly OpenTable, this restaurant is $$ not $.
Based on January 2017 dinner, we decided return to Marrow was in order. A good choice was outcome. Chewy octopus and tasty venison were excellent entrees. Radishes were vegetable of the day in appetizer, salads and entrees. The creative approach by chefs are primary reason for going to Marrow. PS. The Panna cotta dessert changed from January, but exquisite!
We were there for Cinco De Mayo and it was fabulous! Had a couple Tecates and the menu was special for the day and occasion. Chef John came out to the table and laughed it up with us for a few minutes...which is always a treat! This place has fast become one of our faves in town. We eat there at least once a month sometimes twice. The food is very artisan and sometimes even heady. A lot of good vibes and thoughtfulness put into the cuisine for sure. The room is very nicely decorated and modern. Always some soulful music playing and the smells are amazing as soon as you walk in! Exactly what you would expect on this hip little side of town. Can't wait to get back and sample more of the new menu! I highly recommend this fine establishment to anyone who enjoys a higher level dinning experience. You won't be disappointed. Very fairly priced too and a great value for the overall experience.
The style and décor blend well with the locale, Fountain Square.
Almost minimalist, which allows you to focus on the dining and your company.
the chef/owner creates an ever-changing themed menu, with some original and artistic creations. All delicious. Even the background music blends in.
The wine list is not extensive but still offers some great options, with a less-publicized "reserve" list.
we were superbly cared for by Kaylie, who was very knowledgeable concerning the menu items. She was attentive but not intrusive, no superficial nonsense, but extremely friendly.
Only one slightly negative comment - live music , especially jazz, is great. But the restaurant is relatively small, and the acoustics such that when they were playing, conversation became more difficult, and that's what we were there for.
Our evening was outstanding. The best meal any of us had had in quite a while.
The food was outstanding! We started with the radish salad and my husband doesn't even like radishes we both thought it was delicious, like spring on a plate. Next we had the bone marrow, and it was so tasty and the depth of flavor was on point. I had the beef bourguignon which was melt in your mouth delicious and my husband had the salmon which was also beyond scrumptious! We finished our meal with the butterscotch panna cotta, and again the combination of flavors was to die for! Our server, Kaylee was adorable, friendly and helpful. The restaurant's decor was modern and tasteful. We had a luscious wine with our dinner. All in all, one of the best restaurants I've eaten at in Indianapolis, and we've eaten at plenty of good ones! It's easy to see why the chef was nominated for a James Beard award!! I highly recommend a visit!!
Our 3rd time here in Indy on business. Incredible food; inventive and flavorful. We visited twice for dinner in 3 days.
Great meal and great service. I look forward to going back. All in our party of 5 enjoyed their meals and we shared liberally.
If you're looking for something out of the ordinary, this is a fantastic choice! Every menu item is unique and delicious! We sat at the bar and were very entertained watching each drink being made as a masterpiece. The entire staff is personable and welcoming. Highly recommend this experience!
We were in town on business downtown and took the trip to fountain square in search of a memorable meal and we were blown away! Amazing inventive menu that really delivered. We had smelt appetizer and while my wife had scallops I tried the octopus entree. Truly a great meal and we eat out a lot in some great restaurants. Go here, you won't be sorry
Superb meal. Fantastic service. Christian, the server, was also a very good sommelier. Nice parings with meal. We had Salmon and Elk.....Appetizers were excellent... bacarones, mussels, octopus, sardine, piquillo peppers, artichokes, crackers . The salad, Heirloom Tomato Nicoise was marvelous. I would highly recommend this venue... but afraid it will get too busy and won't be able to return... :) All kidding aside this is a great spot for foodies ;cost on the higher than average side... but well worth it!
Great food! Great service! The actual ambience and set up of the restaurant is slightly lacking. I would definitely come again!
This was our second time dining at Marrow and these represent the top two meals we've had in Indianapolis in years! Perfectly cooked meats and fish, careful melding of flavors, highest-quality ingredients. We enjoyed the French inspired menu in April 2017 and the food was exquisite. One cocktail was a snore and music was too loud for our taste but we were seated under the speaker, but that will not deter us from returning.
My husband and I were knocked out by our meals! So creative and unusual, we look forward to eating there again.
Fantastic place. Will return soon
Really enjoyed this place. The food was top-notch, and the ambience was great. There was a jazz duo playing, added a nice touch to the atmosphere. We had the elk loin and the pan roasted halibut. I would order both of them again without hesitation. The oven-roasted tomato also provided a nice snack prior to the entrees. Food is a bit pricey but not unexpectedly so. Overall would definitely recommend this place.
Well executed and perfectly selected ingredients.
We were really surprised by our experience at Marrow. Usually we do not try new places but have heard great things about this place. Our waiter Christian was outstanding! He was kind, attentive, informative and not overbearing. Menu options were slim but we looked at the menu before going. From the cheese plate to the dessert, everything was delicious!
First time we had been there. We went with my parents. They both enjoyed it as well as my wife and I. Food was great (even heated up the next day). Service was also very good. I can understand why this is ranked one of the better restaurants in the city.
Not only minor changes to the menu but continual revamps are frustrating and disappointing. Favorite anticipated staple dishes (and drinks)are not even kept on the menu. French peasant food is not what made me fall in love with this restaurant. It literally went from my favorite restaurant in Indy to I will not return. The concept doesn't seem to be working as there were only two additional people dining other than us at 7:30 on a Thursday night.
We were very curious to see how everything would turn out with Chef John Adams on vacation for this visit. I must say John's proxy hit it out of the park! We started this time with the roasted olives which were divine. We had a bottle of the Ritual Sauvignon Blanc chilled of course and it was spectacular with our choices. Next up was the fried smelt that was exactly as we remembered...scrumptious! For the main course we had the Poulet (chicken) and it was perfectly cooked. The horseradish cauliflower puree with the tender fork pulled dark meat was mouth watering. We NEVER order dessert But since the rest of the meal had been so stellar, we couldn't resist! So at the recommendation of our server we chose the Chocolate Tart paired with the Tawny Porto. OMG!!! I don't have any words left to describe how delectable it was. Kaylie our server was fantastic and gave just the right amount of attention to our table. The front of house concierge was playing Bill Withers greatest hits which sealed the deal for an overall 5 star rating this time. In the absence of the Head Chef this kitchen stayed the course and made it happen in a great way.
Great meal paired with a great bottle of wine. Just loved all the flavors💕
A wonderful evening at Marrow celebrating a birthday. Can't wait to dine again. Thank you!
Love this place! One of my faves in Fountain Square for sure. I tell everybody about this joint all the time. Chef J. Adams is always gracious and friendly to talk to. His taste in music always rivals his fantastic culinary skills in the kitchen and is definitely reflected in his cuisine! Always some great tunes playing in this place! They have live jazz trios and sometimes quartets playing on Wednesday nights which makes for a really swank vibe in the very warmly decorated room. Excellent wine and craft beer list and the bartender is great at pairing creative cocktails or wine with your meal choices. We really enjoy the ever changing menu with locally sourced seasonal ingredients. We keep coming back and enjoying ourselves every time. :))
Awesome place. Terrific cocktails and stellar composition of the dishes. Everything we had was perfectly cooked and seasoned and frankly, was some of the best food we've had in the Indy area.
Went to Marrow as a birthday dinner. Great menu that changes quarterly. Food was fantastic. We added Marrow to our favorites list in Indy.
We had a wonderful meal at Marrow. The dishes are interesting, creative and well executed. Service was great and our server was quite helpful about the menu.
We went to Marrow for a girls' dinner. We had excellent service, but found the food to be over-priced for what we got. The menu is very funky and limited, so I would only recommend for the adventurous. I don't plan to return.
Always innovative, exciting, and flavorful culinary creations, served by a professional staff.
My wife and I have been wanting to try Marrow for some time. We finally made it - and are glad we did! Service by a server who was on the job three weeks was fantastic. He knew the menu and was very energetic - attentive, but not overly so. His recommendations were spot on and he was stopping by regularly to check on us with out rushing us. All four of us were equally impressed with the dishes that we shared that we normally would not have ordered. very well prepared and presentation was excellent. They did the little things -Like making sure all of the plates hit the table at the same time. I will definitely go back.
The food was great with many unique options. They have an interesting eclectic wine list. Our server was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely return and recommend to a friend.
My husband and i took another couple who had not been to Marrow before and they really enjoyed the food. Our server, Kaylee, was great as well. She was knowledgeable about the food and drink menu and spoke very professionally. The only bad part about our dining experience this time was when the table, next to us, received their food, it was very aromatic and not in a good way so it kind of ruined our dessert moment.
Went with another couple before heading to the ISO. Nice atmosphere, shared appetizers, everyone enjoyed their meal, and waitress was very engaging.
