Market Table - The Alexander
We did the Colts pregame brunch. Everything was well organized and presented on the buffet. Good selection of items. Table service was ok, but not very attentive. Nice pregame location with comfortable surroundings.
Birthday and Thanksgiving!
We went for brunch and we felt the choices we less than they have been in the past and it was hard to get someone to help you as there was only one person at the buffet and that person was busy making omelets. The endless mimosas and bloody Mary’s were good.
We were greeted promptly. The service at the table was quick. The brunch provided a large variety of choices for us. Great value in a beautiful hotel.
My family and I had eaten at Market Table some time ago and I recalled it was a very good experience. This time not so much. I found most of the cooking staff to be not in the best of moods and not very accommodating. Service with a smile was not what we received at all. The glimmer of hope was our waitress, who, maybe wasn't quite on top of things to start out she did pick things up a bit at the end and was pleasant and friendly.
As far as the food went it was mixed. When I asked where the fruit was they said it would be coming out and it never did. What they brought to my table was a bowl of fruit they had originally wrapped up in saran wrap with the saran wrap still on the bowl. When I asked the cook making the omelets who I order the pancakes from she turned to another gentlemen and asked him to make the pancakes and his response was less than excited. When I walked over to him and asked if he was the pancake guy he stated, "I guess", and proceeded to pour the batter on the grill.
As I waited for the pancakes that were taking entirely too long I walked back to the counter where they were being made and they were still on the grill. The gentlemen cooking them was completely occupied with something else even though he saw me standing there. Another woman asked if she could help me and I stated that those were my pancakes on the grill. She took them off and placed on plates and gave them to me. Needless to say they were as hard as a rock to the point my kids couldn't even cut them.
Overall, not a very good experience and probably explains why it was not very crowded and yet Yolk next door was jammed. I think we'll go there next time!
It was a great place, limited Vegetarian options. It is expensive for breakfast for limited menu
The food was delicious and fresh. There were unique choices, and I was disappointed when I got full that I didn't get to try everything! I am looking very forward to coming back!
It was disappointing.
Great mothers day buffet. Lots of food with a great twist. And kids under 6 are free which we had to inform our server of in our bill.
The food and ingredient quality was good, but the preparation and flavors were lackluster, and most of the warm items were completely cold.
It was not as good as I had expected.
Great selection of food on the buffet which was a plus for our vegetarian daughter.
Unfortunately the restaurant buffet is only available on special occasions. We enjoyed it very much.
What a fantastic place for Easter brunch! Food and service were excellent. Can’t wait to make this an annual affair!
Overall, the food was just ok. Other than the made to order omelette, most of the food choices are barely warm. There isn’t a wide selection of items. I’ve been to competing hotel brunch for the same price and a much broader selection of items. This brunch isn’t worth the high price. Service and dining room were good.
Food was great, room is beautiful, and service was extraordinary. We were so impressed with everyone and very grateful for not just the great food (so many choices for brunch!), but the kindness of the staff. When we left and saw the line at Yolk, I wanted to tell everyone they were wasting their time when they could enjoy and incredible brunch buffet next door!
Received reservation at 230pm then at 3pm told that the buffet line end at 315. For 40$/person we felt rushed and didn't think it was worth the money.
Thanksgiving buffet! It was a very nice meal. We left very satisfied. The service was a bit lacking considering The only thing that we needed to be served were drinks. But overall it was great.
We had a stupendous Thanksgiving meal at Market Table. Kudos to the chefs!
Thank you Ruth1092 for joining us on Thanksgiving! The chefs were very proud of the menu and are glad you and your family enjoyed the experience.
This has been our second year coming for thanksgiving and it was wonderful!!! Even better this year. The staff are nice, we had a private room, the food is spectacular!! A very nice place to go for a stress free dining on the holiday. Thank you....we will be back!
Thank you Julie S for sharing your family’s Thanksgiving with us! I’m so glad you enjoyed the private room, the meal, and the service. We’ll be here for Mother’s Day and Easter too. 😀
Enjoyed the Market Table Thanksgiving buffet for the second year. Good mixture of traditional and non-traditional dishes. LOVED the arugula/squash salad! And our server Brent was outstanding!!!!!!
Great Thanksgiving buffet. Had a perfect balance of traditional tastes and fancy stuff. Quality ingredients.
Thank you very much for celebrating your Thanksgiving Day with us at The Market Table. The chefs, servers, and rest of the team are thrilled that you enjoyed the meal.
We went to Market Table for Sunday brunch before a Colts game. We were enthusiastically welcomed by the hostess, the brunch buffet was thoroughly explained, and we were shown to our table. The delightful brunch was $25 for adults and they had several drink specials to offer, as well. The food on the buffet was really great . . . salads, breads & rolls, freshly sliced beef brisket, chicken & waffles, broccoli, cajun crab mac & cheese, several kinds of bacon, custom omelette station, a multitude of gelato flavors, and caramel apple cheesecake were just some of the available options. All the food was really good, and the service was great, also. The atmosphere was clean and vibrant. Everything was great except one thing. After we left, I received an email from OpenTable telling me that I had not shown up for my reservation. Apparently there was a mix-up and for some reason Market Table didn't mark our party "present" as they showed us to our table. This was all cleared up later, apparently, and it wasn't a huge deal, but it did put a slight negative end to our otherwise outstanding experience. I would definitely return and I would also recommend the brunch to anyone looking for a great spread of food at a reasonable price.
Pretty food, would.go back
For a Sunday brunch, felt food options were limited for the cost.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great with pretty views.
The food was amazing! Staff was very attentive. Highly recommend.
Brunch buffet was decent. Not the best I've had, but a variety of choices. I had reserved a table for two. The hostess sat us and left, not even noticing that there was only one chair at the table and wasn't fully set. I had to scavenge our second chair and get the rest of our place settings from other tables. I went specifically for the Drag Queen brunch. I think the event was overpriced for what it was. The drag queens were scheduled to perform from 10:30-1, but quit at 12:30. It was advertised as a sing-a-long, but they did quite a bit of improv as well which, honestly, wasn't that entertaining. They sang for about an hour and did improv for the final hour. I think it would have been better if they had mixed it up and sang a bit, then did some drag, and maybe some improv and then sing again.
Not a lot of value for the buck. The "hot" items were warm at best and in some cases over-cooked. We ordered Bloody Mary's and were not impressed - wasted $8. We didn't drink them and asked for them to be removed from the bill - the waitress wasn't able to do this and there wasn't a manager working. On a positive note, the made to order items were good. However, they did not have this staffed well and you had to wait for someone each time.
They had some of everything on this buffet. It's $20 per person. They do have Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's for sale at about $8 each. The buffet is very nice and has quite a variety. They have turkey bacon, regular bacon, duck bacon (never saw that anywhere before) they have several types of oatmeal all Gluten Free. They have an Egg station where you can get them however you like. I had an omelette and it was good. They have parfaits, several types and flavors of yogurt with tons of toppings. They had a salmon platter, lots of freshly cut fruits. We are local and will definitely be back. If you go on the weekends street parking is free. Otherwise you will have to pay to park. If you park by the YMCA then you can just walk right into the restaurant otherwise if you go through the front desk then you will have stairs to go up and down. They do have outdoor seating that looked nice. We had to chase our server down every time we wanted a refill or our plates cleared. She was too busy hanging out with the other staff at the host stand to pay attention. The manager was super friendly, she even went and had them make some bacon extra crispy for me. I had a lot more photos but they were too large to put on here.
They run out of food on the buffet if you don’t get there at opening. They were out of things by 11 am so not worth the price to not have options-especially after being open for only an hour. Food was excellent (what we were able to taste).
Awesome and great value
It was a very well laid out buffet, with plenty of variety and separation between the stations. Staff is extremely welcoming! A very enjoyable location, with an art eclectic theme.
The service was good, the food was very good with lots of healthy and decadent options so everyone was happy. They accommodated our large group of 20.
Everything about this place was awesome! Definitely book well in advance though, because it fills up fast!
Easter brunch was excellent! Although we had a little seating issue the manager took care of it quickly. The food was very good. Our server was perfect
The food was interesting and delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating. Parking was a little confusing, but I guess that is to be expected for a downtown establishment.
We were there for Easter brunch with the family. We made reservations and our table is ready right at our scheduled time. Our server seem to be new and it was a little busy so I will say he tried his best. Also since this was not menu food I can't really critique anyting and regards to that. I can't say the brunch menu was full with lots of options including those for my vegetarian daughter and her fiance. It was a little pricey at $39 each but its not your typical foods either. Overall it was very good and we really enjoyed it.
