Market Table - The Alexander
Overall, the food was just ok. Other than the made to order omelette, most of the food choices are barely warm. There isn’t a wide selection of items. I’ve been to competing hotel brunch for the same price and a much broader selection of items. This brunch isn’t worth the high price. Service and dining room were good.
Food was great, room is beautiful, and service was extraordinary. We were so impressed with everyone and very grateful for not just the great food (so many choices for brunch!), but the kindness of the staff. When we left and saw the line at Yolk, I wanted to tell everyone they were wasting their time when they could enjoy and incredible brunch buffet next door!
Received reservation at 230pm then at 3pm told that the buffet line end at 315. For 40$/person we felt rushed and didn't think it was worth the money.
Thanksgiving buffet! It was a very nice meal. We left very satisfied. The service was a bit lacking considering The only thing that we needed to be served were drinks. But overall it was great.
We had a stupendous Thanksgiving meal at Market Table. Kudos to the chefs!
Thank you Ruth1092 for joining us on Thanksgiving! The chefs were very proud of the menu and are glad you and your family enjoyed the experience.
This has been our second year coming for thanksgiving and it was wonderful!!! Even better this year. The staff are nice, we had a private room, the food is spectacular!! A very nice place to go for a stress free dining on the holiday. Thank you....we will be back!
Thank you Julie S for sharing your family’s Thanksgiving with us! I’m so glad you enjoyed the private room, the meal, and the service. We’ll be here for Mother’s Day and Easter too. 😀
Enjoyed the Market Table Thanksgiving buffet for the second year. Good mixture of traditional and non-traditional dishes. LOVED the arugula/squash salad! And our server Brent was outstanding!!!!!!
Great Thanksgiving buffet. Had a perfect balance of traditional tastes and fancy stuff. Quality ingredients.
Thank you very much for celebrating your Thanksgiving Day with us at The Market Table. The chefs, servers, and rest of the team are thrilled that you enjoyed the meal.
We went to Market Table for Sunday brunch before a Colts game. We were enthusiastically welcomed by the hostess, the brunch buffet was thoroughly explained, and we were shown to our table. The delightful brunch was $25 for adults and they had several drink specials to offer, as well. The food on the buffet was really great . . . salads, breads & rolls, freshly sliced beef brisket, chicken & waffles, broccoli, cajun crab mac & cheese, several kinds of bacon, custom omelette station, a multitude of gelato flavors, and caramel apple cheesecake were just some of the available options. All the food was really good, and the service was great, also. The atmosphere was clean and vibrant. Everything was great except one thing. After we left, I received an email from OpenTable telling me that I had not shown up for my reservation. Apparently there was a mix-up and for some reason Market Table didn't mark our party "present" as they showed us to our table. This was all cleared up later, apparently, and it wasn't a huge deal, but it did put a slight negative end to our otherwise outstanding experience. I would definitely return and I would also recommend the brunch to anyone looking for a great spread of food at a reasonable price.
For a Sunday brunch, felt food options were limited for the cost.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great with pretty views.
The food was amazing! Staff was very attentive. Highly recommend.
Brunch buffet was decent. Not the best I've had, but a variety of choices. I had reserved a table for two. The hostess sat us and left, not even noticing that there was only one chair at the table and wasn't fully set. I had to scavenge our second chair and get the rest of our place settings from other tables. I went specifically for the Drag Queen brunch. I think the event was overpriced for what it was. The drag queens were scheduled to perform from 10:30-1, but quit at 12:30. It was advertised as a sing-a-long, but they did quite a bit of improv as well which, honestly, wasn't that entertaining. They sang for about an hour and did improv for the final hour. I think it would have been better if they had mixed it up and sang a bit, then did some drag, and maybe some improv and then sing again.
Not a lot of value for the buck. The "hot" items were warm at best and in some cases over-cooked. We ordered Bloody Mary's and were not impressed - wasted $8. We didn't drink them and asked for them to be removed from the bill - the waitress wasn't able to do this and there wasn't a manager working. On a positive note, the made to order items were good. However, they did not have this staffed well and you had to wait for someone each time.
They had some of everything on this buffet. It's $20 per person. They do have Mimosa's and Bloody Mary's for sale at about $8 each. The buffet is very nice and has quite a variety. They have turkey bacon, regular bacon, duck bacon (never saw that anywhere before) they have several types of oatmeal all Gluten Free. They have an Egg station where you can get them however you like. I had an omelette and it was good. They have parfaits, several types and flavors of yogurt with tons of toppings. They had a salmon platter, lots of freshly cut fruits. We are local and will definitely be back. If you go on the weekends street parking is free. Otherwise you will have to pay to park. If you park by the YMCA then you can just walk right into the restaurant otherwise if you go through the front desk then you will have stairs to go up and down. They do have outdoor seating that looked nice. We had to chase our server down every time we wanted a refill or our plates cleared. She was too busy hanging out with the other staff at the host stand to pay attention. The manager was super friendly, she even went and had them make some bacon extra crispy for me. I had a lot more photos but they were too large to put on here.
They run out of food on the buffet if you don’t get there at opening. They were out of things by 11 am so not worth the price to not have options-especially after being open for only an hour. Food was excellent (what we were able to taste).
Awesome and great value
It was a very well laid out buffet, with plenty of variety and separation between the stations. Staff is extremely welcoming! A very enjoyable location, with an art eclectic theme.
The service was good, the food was very good with lots of healthy and decadent options so everyone was happy. They accommodated our large group of 20.
Everything about this place was awesome! Definitely book well in advance though, because it fills up fast!
Easter brunch was excellent! Although we had a little seating issue the manager took care of it quickly. The food was very good. Our server was perfect
The food was interesting and delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating. Parking was a little confusing, but I guess that is to be expected for a downtown establishment.
We were there for Easter brunch with the family. We made reservations and our table is ready right at our scheduled time. Our server seem to be new and it was a little busy so I will say he tried his best. Also since this was not menu food I can't really critique anyting and regards to that. I can't say the brunch menu was full with lots of options including those for my vegetarian daughter and her fiance. It was a little pricey at $39 each but its not your typical foods either. Overall it was very good and we really enjoyed it.
The food was very good. The brunch had a lot of interesting dishes the were very good.
I am glad the breakfast and brunch were offered free with our room, because the breakfast was definitely not worth $19.95. All of the breads were extremely hard and the eggs that were cooked to order were very overcooked. The other choices were not good enough to make that price worth it. We were still there for brunch turnover, so I took a look and had a piece of salmon and some broccoli--both were so overcooked it reminded me of nursing home food. At $24.95, that would have made me extremely upset to pay. We all had coffee to drink, and it was not good at all. It was similar to the coffee you get in a room that cost you less than $100/night. It is a good thing the meal was included, because it was not worth what they are charging. As a side note, our server was not personable and not very attentive, but we didn't require much from her. Maybe we tried Market Table on an "off" day?
A relaxing, pleasant, and quiet atmosphere to enjoy a plentiful and nicely prepared buffet with friends or family.
Best brisket we have ever had (and we are 60+!) and best biscuits and gravy we have ever had.
Delicious Thanksgiving Buffet! Tasty food and interesting combinations. Lovely chilled display of salads and vegetables, hearty main dishes and sides, wonderful desserts! Great servers, too. Fun art in the building. We have gone there for three Thanksgivings so far!
Loved the food, it was the best part of our thanksgiving! Our waitress was busy but so kind ansattentive to is, for a holiday i was impressed with the service, we even arrived half hour eARly and they got is in!
Kudos to all for a wonderful Thanksgiving feast. The food was delicious--especially the dressing. Wish the potatoes did not have other root vegetables and noodles, green beans and rolls would have been nice. All in all, a great experience.
The pie was disappointing, but everything else was excellent.
Very disappointing. Limited food choices and overpriced. We had enjoyed brunch there in the past but won’t return.
We had friends visiting from out of town for the U2 concert and based on previous visits we were looking forward to a great Sunday brunch. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed in all aspects of The Alexander's Market Table brunch. The food on the buffet was cold and the selection was definitely less compared to previous visits. The fresh fruit and desserts were fine. This was not the caliber of brunch one would expect from such an upscale hotel as The Alexander.
The food was decent. The price was reasonable. I would recommend actual cooked eggs to compliment the omelettes that are made and strawberries for an addition to the fruit.
We've enjoyed Easter Brunch at several restaurants in the Indianapolis area and this by far is our favorite. Endless options whether looking for breakfast items or lunch items. Everything is always delicious and bottomless with great staff and ambiance.
The Easter brunch was not what I expected. Not enough vegetables. Some of the meat on the buffet was burnt or dry from being out too long. Also no french toast. The cost was $38.00 per person way too much for what we got. The sorbet was good and some of the desserts were good.
