Food was missing a step from previous visits , and we’ve eaten here 15 or so times. Wine list is well-balanced but overpriced
Just a very nice restaurant. We were greeted and seated by the lovely women at the door. Our waitress was helpful and unpretentious. Just an enjoyable evening. The food is some of the best in Deer Valley
Mariposa is one of the top restaurants in Park City. From the moment we were greeted by the hostess to leaving, the experience was superb- food was excellent, the atmosphere warm and elegant with the crackling fire and the service an 11.
Awesome food, service and atmosphere! Well done!
Great food. Our favorite meal on a one week trip to Deer Valley. So good that we ate there again and were happy we made that choice
Our server was wonderful and the food was excellent. Other staff were very friendly and helpful. We were easily able to enjoy conversation at our table without much background noise or "overflow" noise from other guests.
This dinner was a perfect evening for both generations: my husband and me/our 27 year old son and his girlfriend. Food was excellent and a good value, service was spot on, and the quiet but not silent ambiance provided perfect background for good conversation. Several appealing menu selections for both the carnivores and the vegetarian girlfriend.
We needed a quiet night out as we’ve had a ton of guests. It was just what we needed, the chefs tasting menu was excellent.
We celebrated our engagement! It was fantastic! Thank you! Truly a memorable night!
The ambiance was great but overpriced for the value. We had a 5 oz 45 day aged steak for $50 and I ordered it medium. It was well done. Even Capital Grill - it would be larger and they always get the temp right. Is that good value. Good wine selection but overpriced. I saw in a park city restaurant magazine that Mariposa had King Salmon and I went for that not some Hawaiian snapper that people play games with.
My wife and I have been to a lot of elite gourmet restaurants, but Mariposa is right up there. My 5th visit in 20 years, and its very, very, solid. Quality of food was outstanding, and for such quality, very fairly priced. The fois gras was particularily tasty, cooked perfectly (as good as any in France), and a very generous portion. The lamb was lights out. The service was perfect, just right. We genuinly enjoyed our server, Garrett, and talking to the manager, Scott. We had the little 2-top table in the corner of the restaurant, recessed into the wall, which is definitely something to request for a quite romantic dinner. It's hard for me to beleive anyone would Mariposa anything less than all 5 stars. Cheers.
What a disappointment. This was chateau plonk dressed up with a Petrus label! Apart from the meat from the main course, it looked and tasted as though everything else had been prepared way in advance - the whole meal was underwhelming despite an initially attractive menu. Serious sediment in one of the wine glasses was the final straw, which was a shame because the wine selection was actually excellent. The waiter was attentive and helpful but nothing could make up for the really disappointing food. When we last visited a few years ago, it was a pleasant experience. The same could not be said of this visit. Definitely one to avoid in the future.
I had a hair my my vegetables. Note: I personally don't have any hair, so that rules me out. I shouldn't have to pay almost $50 for an entree and have a hair in it. I didn't point it out at the time because I didn't want to do it in front of our guests. I did write it on the credit card receipt. I still gave a decent tip. I never heard back from management. I think this is an example of what happens at a ski town...they don't really care because people are just there on a ski trip. I, however, am a local. It was my third time there this season, but probably not any more, sadly. A hair in a meal is often a symptom of poor sanitary conditions throughout.
Our visit to Mariposa was once again the best dinner out in the week we were in Deer Valley. Julia is a fantastic server and makes you feel welcome. Favorites were the Bison filet and duck.
The food and service are excellent and the ambiance was so lovely. Erin was our server and she was fantastic. Highly recommend the Bison!
Food was way below par
Mariposa exceeded our expectations. Food, service, ambiance was outstanding. We will be back. Thank you for a wonderful date night experience!
We had a lovely evening, cozy atmosphere. Very limited menu but we liked what we ordered. Chef was not flexible about substitutions- we wanted one of the courses from the tasting menu as an a al carte but chef declined. We would not highly recommend this restaurant if you want options and a fuller menu.
We love being able to bring our own wine to Park City restaurants!
Although the decor seems mostly unchanged since the restaurant opened (this is NOT a negative) the food is incredibly modern, yet still wholesome and filling as needed following a day on the slopes. The tables are comfortably spaced, keeping the noise level down. The service was great - our server had great knowledge of the food and the wine menu as well. Little extras like the amuse bouche the after dinner chocolates really make the dining experience even more special. This would be a great restaurant for a romantic dinner, but the dining style and portion sizes work well for groups as well.
place seems to have slipped. Narrow eclectic menu. not good place for those without that type of palate.
too many better places to eat for better value with more diverse menu
Fantastic food and service! A bit pricey but sooo worth it!
Quiet, cozy setting. Unique, delicious food. Loved it!
Un lugar muy bonito y toda la comida espectacular, con sabores muy originales
The woman at front desk was very rude and condescending . On arrival we were told table wasn’t ready but we could wait by fire “if we wanted’ . After about 15 minutes another group of 4 arrived and they were greeted and shown right through so I asked how much longer our table would be and was answered very curtly a few minutes . When we were finally shown our table the same woman said very condescendingly “sorry you had to wait 10 minutes” . It was not 10 minutes !
If I were to judge this restaurant purely on our first impression I would give it a 1 star if that .
After that the service and food was great .
First impressions always count this place should remember . I actually felt like leaving while waiting as I felt so uncomfortable .
Chantal was an amazing server. Passionate, smart and very sweet.
Always impeccable service and wonderful food!
The food was delicious. The atmosphere was dampened a bit by the dirty tables next to us that were empty, yet were not bussed. We had to look at dirty dishes, crumbs and wine stains throughout our dinner. There were other tables near us that were left in the same condition after the diners left. I don’t understand why they would leave tables like that
The service was excellent. The menu and wine list was limited. The food was well prepared and tasty. The atmosphere was inviting.
Bathroom should be installed closer to the restaurant
Both fish and duck over cooked. The matre dee gave away our table to another couple even thou we had checked in and just went to the bathroom. Wine list overpriced. Our main waiter was excellent.
Really, really good. Delicious, quiet and away from the hubbub of Main Street
The steak tartar was a bit sour, the bison was OK but not great and the Wagu was excellent. The prices were very high but the service was outstanding
Amazing meal! Wonderful food, fantastic service, cozy ambience.
Fabulous food and knowledgeable skilled service
We made a reservation for my birthday with another couple in Park City on a ski vacation from Houston, TX. We haven’t had a meal this good since a 3-Michelin star restaurant in Paris last year. Every dish we tried was wonderful and interesting. Our server, John, was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the food and the wine list. The Beggar’s Purse, wild mushrooms in a puff pastry, was probably my favorite along with the fish main course and the scallop. The chocolate tray for dessert was to die for if you are a chocolate-lover. We come the Park City every year, and this is our new favorite restaurant.
Warm and cozy, but the food was not up to par.
It was fantastic!!
Zagat rated for reason.
Food is excellent. Wine list is nice, but excessively (3 X retail) overpriced. Will bring our own wine next time and pay corkage fee.
