Special lunch with a friend and everything was as perfect as you would expect from a restaurant in Neiman Marcus! Glad I made a reservation because it was busy. The margarita here is amazing! The manager explained what was in it but I can't remember. (I'll go back for this one though!) The menu has something for everybody, from salads and sandwiches to wonderfully prepared entrees. Maybe it was the margarita's influence but I had the burger and it was fantastic. The service was outstanding and we were checked in on frequently. No room for dessert but I could see many people enjoying theirs.

I went for lunch with a friend while shopping at Newport Center. We were warmly greeted by the hostess who took us to our table in what was a very busy but fun to be in room. The oft mentioned popover and consume were brought to us by our server immediately (yum!) who also talked up the day's specials. They sounded quite nice but I opted for a cup of the butternut squash soup and the steak salad, both prepared perfectly (and portioned generously.) Both our server and the manager checked in on us with friendly smiles several times during the meal, just the way it should be. Ended meal with a cup of delicious vanilla tea. Where do I get that? Really a lovely place for lunch and I really like the nutritional information on the menu. I will be back! Thank you.

When I went onto the Open Table website to change my reservation from 4 to 5, I was not able to make it work. It was frustrating!

Our lunch lasted 2.5 hours mostly due to horrible service. Our server Alex was surly. He kept promising that he would bring us certain items (like an ice tea) and it never arrived. The manager stepped in one time to bring us our food but he should have kept checking on us. The long wait ruined our experience. We were also celebrating a birthday and despite telling Alex numerous times that the birthday girl was gluten free and he kept insisting that a special dessert was coming out way. About 20 minutes later we received coconut cake with a candle - the guy was clueless. My daughters shrimp salad was missing the avocado and had an inordinate amount of julienned and chopped carrots - what a rip off.

We both enjoyed the Hoisin chicken salad and loved the mini broth and popover with strawberry butter. Our server was not very attentive and we finally had to ask for a box, more iced tea and our check. She took our order, someone else served it, another person brought more iced tea and still another person brought our take home box. Our waitress apologized when she finally brought the check which was the first time we saw her since she took our order. Very disappointed in the service. Food, however, was good.

Mariposa is consistently a lunchtime jewel in Newport Center. My favorite place to go for a business lunch during the week when I want to both impress my guest with its elegance and with a great meal. Thank you!

My friend treated me to lunch to celebrate my birthday. Our server was wonderful. She brought us additional broth in a hot water dispenser, which was much appreciated. The food was delicious. I was also given a delicious piece of chocolate cake, which we all shared. I would highly recommend Miraposa.

My husband and I always enjoyed the restaurant before this visit.
I was recommended the restaurant week menu by the server and thought be fun to give it a try as it was the last day of restaurant week. The server recommended the filet mignon. And since I dont eat beef too often, I figured at a nice restaurant such as Mariposa, the beef should be excellent. And my husband ordered the salmon salad.
I ordered my steak medium rare. It came medium well. I alerted the server and they made me a new filet unfortunately it came back this time almost rare. Shocked the kitchen could not get it right!! My husband's salmon was totally dry. He did not send it back but only ate half the piece of fish. Such a disappointing meal.

Steak always prepared just right. All food was consistently excellent. Our server was as good as you can get- stopped by a few times to see if everything was OK, answered our questions (helped me remember that I like your spiced tea), very cheerful and sweet.

Our server, Alex, was very accommodating. First table was outside and too cold for my guest, so we moved inside4 and he still served us. Alex brot us a second cup of consommé to warm us up; substituted a birthday dessert at my guest's request; and was charming and smiling throut the process. (My guest can be a bit of a pain in the neck, even on her birthday!)

Mariposa is always good...prices are a bit high for lunch. The popovers with strawberry butter are a must even if you’re on a diet! The Salmon tacos are very good.

The food was great, the dining room was beautiful. The noise level was sooo high, You practically had to read the other person’s lips to understand what they were saying. We ended up sitting outside on the patio which was nice but if they ever open the door to come in and out the noise transferred outside and it was still too loud.

Went for Newport Beach Restaurant Weekss as I had never eaten at Mariposa at Neumann Marcus Newport Beach previously.
Very disappointed to loud noise level, service and having my medium well steak brought rare. Difficult to get wait staff attention to make correction. My dining companion had finished her lunch by the time my meal was corrected.
Originally hostess seated us near a post and I told her I had never been here before could we sit near the windows. She accommodated us.
I was truly disappointed as I was looking forward to an excellent dining experience.

I do love having lunch here. It's a definite 'Ladies out to lunch' place...although men do eat here. This last time the noise was so loud I literally had to shout for my friend to hear me. Something definitely needs to be done to fix the acoustics.

I was really looking forward to having lunch at Mariposa but we were next to a big table that was very noisy. I ordered the lobster salad and was anticipating a great lunch. Unfortunately the salad was way to spicey for the lobster. Our server was very busy with the big table next to us so we didn't get good service. Fortunately I've been here many times before and always had a great lunch so I'll be back but not a great time this time.

Mariposa is always the best go-to for gals lunch, special gals lunch, a nice glass of wine or fun ladies drinks. The popovers and Chicken Consommé are always a welcoming treat. My husband also enjoys the food and ambience, so don't leave the men out, lol.

We made a reservation on Open Table through the Dine Newport Beach Restaurant Week page in the Internet. Upon arrival I asked for the restaurant week menu. I was told there wasn’t one. Interesting since the NB Restaurant Week placard was on the table. We were told that we could have the Lobster Salad with soup or the Petit Mignon. When the waiter returned to take our order I showed him the online menu. He said they were not honoring it / we had a choice of the salad or filet, no accompanying salad or soup. We chose not to make a scene. We later overheard the lady next to us asking about the menu and being told there wasn’t one. To top it off, we were overcharged for my salad. Never again - what a disappointment. I contacted Neiman Marcus and was told to call the restaurant. Really?

I absolutely love this place. Always a treat to get to come here with my mother during an afternoon of shopping.
Service was a little sub-par (it was the week before Christmas and busy so understandable) but we still thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Food was good, ambiance even better.

Always excellent. Shortly after being seated, the courtesy cup of consommé and popover with side of strawberry butter is most welcoming. Many options ... always innovative and delicious starters and entrées. Very friendly and accommodating staff. I usually go for lunch. They serve until 4:00 so occasionally, I take a shopping break and stop in for a cappuccino & dessert. Consistently excellent.

We always enjoy our lunches at Mariposa. Normally arrive around 1:30. Yesterday was earlier and the noise level was awfully loud. We spent most of our meal leaning on the table, uncomfortable just to hear each other’s conversation. That spoiled our reunion.
The food was delicious as usual. Service impeccable. Noise levels disgusting.

I really think there is no better lunch than at Mariposa NM in Newport Beach. So many I know go here to be seen but really there is no more better service or food in the mall. So many creative but also healthful things to choose from. The salads are my favorite. Another fun thing to do is to drop in for an afternoon cocktail and appetizer. Fun!

Very nice, but the prices have really gone up over the last couple of years. It’s always special coming to Mariposa but $40 for just a salad, water and a tip seems a bit much.
