Had a great girl’s lunch.
The view while eating out at the lanai is great, especially since the weather was beautiful and not hot. Our waiter Christopher was wonderful, professional, answered our questions re menu, accommodating.
Enjoyed the fashion show by models.
They were very understanding, when it came to waiting for my colleague before sitting down. They were always checking on us and were very courteous. Food portioning was what I expected and enjoyed the ambience.
It is always a treat to dine at Mariposa. Relaxing, scenic, people watching atmosphere. Good food, excellent service.
Great service - Leona is wonderful and so service oriented! Food wise, I like the old menu better.
We found the coffee cup was not washed. The water didn’t confirm whether everything is OK after we started to have the food. Water cup was also not filled up frequently.
Having lunch here has always been enjoyable! ❤
Booked as a special occasion to celebrate a birthday. When we checked in for our reservation, the hostess said they were still setting up our table yet they sat others who came in with no reservation. Service was slow, although the wait staff was pleasant. Foot was ok, but slow to arrive. Pasta was undercooked and the shrimp was overcooked. Fish was salty. Nothing special was offered for dessert, even though the reservation was booked as a birthday celebration. Ordered the Old Pali Road for dessert, which was good but a little too rich and heavy. The dessert also took a long time to arrive. Disappointing overall and would not book again for a special occasion. Have dined here in the past and have enjoyed the service and food, but feel this has declined and will visit elsewhere in the future.
Aaron was a wonderful server!&
It’s kind of expensive for the amount of food you get. It’s not really tasty.
The staff and manager, Duane, are really on top on it! Great service. Friendly and professional.
Thank you Eugene. Your great service was most appreciated! Mahalo!
Slow service, curry dish came cold, dirty soup spoon had to return, saw helper run hands through his hair as he was passing out bread, expected higher level of everything.
Good food. Service was slow.
Requested a table outdoors. My seat was in the blazing sun. I asked to lower the shade or to move seating. Server said she needed an approval from the manager. 15 minutes later I still had no answer.
I asked the hostess to give my credit card to the server prior to seating and she said to wait until I sat. I said I wanted to assure that my guest didn’t see me since I didn’t want to fight for the bill. There was another incident when my guest asked for light dressing and server insisted on dressing on the side.
Very pushy - not accommodating - I will look for another place to entertain my clients from now on.
Food was excellent and fresh as always - and we didn’t have to wait long for it’s arrival which was a plus.
Mariposa is consistently on point with food--taste, presentation, and service. An ideal spot to catch up with friends or family. . .
We always enjoy our lunches and special occasions here. The service and food is excellent. The wine list is quite pricey. It doesn't include any reasonable selections any longer.
Family get together
Everything was fine. I wish we could have had a table closer to the balcony to see the fireworks without the pillar in the way.
Enjoyed a great king crab salad.
Dessert es good too
Maybe only the coffee could be better
Family and coworkers came here for Restaurant Week 2018. I love the location and ambiance. At the top floor of Neiman Marcus, this restaurant is a pleasant surprise nestled in amongst sweet treats and other novelties. The entrance is beautiful and the restaurant itself is gorgeous. Spacious, high ceilings, lovely decor, and seating both indoors and out. You won't be disappointed with the ambiance.
-Restaurant Week: Braised Short Rib Loco Moco ($30)- Absolutely delicious. The short rib was tender and the sauce was finger-lickin' good. This was a "fancy" loco moco done right. I had leftovers and demolished them the next day for lunch.
-Seasonal Entree Specials: Adobo Style Pono Pork Ribs ($26) and Roasted Kauai Prawn Pasta ($30)- The pork ribs were a bit dry but still pretty good. Being from Georgia, I do miss some good ribs, so we decided to try this rendition. I would pass next time. The pasta was good. The prawns were perfectly cooked--not chewy and succulent. They ask you if you want to head on or off, which I thought was a nice option. We opted for head on. The sauce was nothing special.
-Caesar Salad, Mariposa Salad, Kahuku Corn Chowder, Grilled Octopus- We enjoyed ALL of these appetizers. The caesar salad was delicious! The toasted garlic crostini was very unique! It was actually spicy! Loved it! The Mariposa Salad was also very yummy. The balsamic vinaigrette was delightful and I devoured this salad. Grilled octopus was also fabulous--not chewy and cooked and seasoned to perfection. The corn chowder was also great. The flavors were subtle and the texture almost like a porridge. Loved it.
-Desserts- I normally don't even like chocolate cakes at restaurants, but this one was perfectly decadent, rich, and I couldn't keep my fork out of it.
Absolutely perfect. I could not have asked for better service. Drinks were kept full, plates were cleared promptly, we didn't feel rushed, and our leftovers were packaged so nicely! Thank you!
My favorite for a business lunch. Great menu and excellent service.
we have been doing to the Mariposa for years. It is always excellent and the popovers are delicious. The view is great and you can easily shop before or after lunch. A classy place .
My kahuku corn chowder & order of hurricane fries were great.
However, my friend’s pasta was under the heat lamp for too long. Pasta was dried out. Shrimp was overcooked & rubbery. Because she was still unhappy after twice asking for additional cream sauce to try & salvage the dish, she then was told her could order something else. She ordered the curry. Even that was not good. It was so salty.
Before any dish leaves the kitchen, it should be checked. Sauces should be tasted to make sure they’re okay & not too salty.
The waitress was nice to try & accommodate my friend. But I must say that lunch was a disappointment to her.
We made a reservation online for lunch. We still had to wait upon our arrival, about 20 minutes even though there were many tables available inside and outside. The food is always good here, but pricey compared to other restaurants that are similar in quality.
Today's server was really nice.
I had indicated that we were celebrating a birthday so I thought we'd get a free birthday dessert but to my dismay, we didn't get one. :(
Nice ambiance with beautiful ocean views, perfect to watch the sunset. Our waiter was very attentive. The food was good, my wife really enjoyed her set menu. Mine was just ok, which was a seafood pasta special for restaurant week. The bread was delicious, soft, warm, and buttery. Overall, nice and enjoyable.
