Great view of Ala Moana Beach on the outside corner. Food was great and the service was the Best !!!
Service was very slow. While some of us was served within 15 minutes of order. One of us waited over 45 minutes to receive her main dish.
I have lost count of the number of times I have been to Mariposa, and it seems to get better every single time!
I had dear friends from LA with me -- they enjoyed so much - food/service/ambience impressed them to max! They rated Mariposa as a rare gem in every regard. I agree!
I was introduced to restaurant in 2011.
You will see me again and again for lunch and dinner - with friends, colleagues, and even alone.
Mahalo nui loa ! You are a TEN in every regard 👍👍
In the past this was such a great place. Now the food quality is only average. And the service is also average. Not worth the price that we paid. Sorry to say, we will not be returning again.
Ask to sit on the lanai, it was beautiful. Service was great, never had to ask for more water they where always on it. We said we would split a salad and they brought it out on 2 plates. The food all tasted amazing!!! Highly recommend
We loved the food and the quiet atmosphere. However, service was lacking. The waiter took forever to refill our drinks. Additionally, Mariposa did not fulfill my reservation request to have a dessert brought out for my friend's birthday.
Food has always been good. Tomato/mozarella salad was exceptional, both portabella and ahi sandwiches were delicious !
Very disappointed in Mariposa, I expected more based on previous experiences but a lot has changed. We were told they were about to change their menu but I’m probably not going to return any time soon.
Duane Kawamoto and his team are the best! I am so proud to host guests to lunch or dinner. Truly outstanding experience every time I go!
Server brought the wrong salad, wrong fries, sweet potatoes fries were cold. Offered more popovers but never brought any. Food was not as good as on previous visits.
Have dined at the Mariposa for many years both lunch and dinner, always excellent food, service and attention to detail. Service is very discreet and certainly not stuffy. Highly recommend for any occasion.
No one changed our dishes, and no additional baguette was served throughout our dinner. Our request of table was ignored in spite of wedding anniversary. We were so disappointed at many things.
Took out of town family for lunch. Food was good, service could have been better... I have never had
any complaints in the past so was a bit disappointed. I had never had gratuity added to my bill...
For mediocre service, 20%?? Was shocked that it had been included and was not told. We had dinks but
even when out glasses were empty, no one asked if we wanted another drink..
Had to walk to the front to ask for our check.
Just a wonderful place to eat. Food is always good the service is super and the view is beautiful.
Good, as usual. They didn't have a couple of items on the menu, but the second choice was probably better anyway. Recommended, but lunch is actually better.
It tastes really good👍
They need some work improving first impressions. We accessed the restaurant after Neiman Marcus hours so it took us a while to figure out the entrance. No signs inside the mall. Then we accessed the restaurant through what it felt like a back door. No-one there to greet you so we had to walk through the restaurant to go to the reception area. We got a nice table but unfortunately, I discovered my fork was dirty (food stuck to it). That made me a bit paranoid about the silverware.
Overall the food is okay but nowhere close to what you would expect for the price. I had the tagliatelle pasta. Let's say that dish was definitely not their strength.
A lot better options for dinner in this area at comparable price. I would not recommend it.
Food was fine, but service was normal.
The consomme and popovers is THE way to start any meal and really sets Mariposa apart from many others.
We had excellent service! Our waiter (Blaze) was very knowledgeable, attentive and so genuine and all the other staff members did a great job as well. We really enjoyed the service on this particular visit.
The pea soup had a nice consistency, tho it lacked the flavor of peas. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the Israeli couscous was a nice compliment to the dish. A shaving of mozzarella or a sprinkle of salt would have really made the dish excellent.
Nice view. Especially sunset time.
Food was good, service VERY slow. Took forever to take drink orders and food orders. Not attentive at all.
Mariposa is consistent. It is a good place to entertain out of town friends because of the view, menu and service. Even locals enjoy dining there for lunch. The popovers are the attraction, I think. I seem to order the same thing every time, but it is consistently well prepared.
FIRST OF ALL THE HOSTESS RUINED CELEBRATING A SURPRISE. Servers were HORRIBLE! As a first timer no one explained to us there was certain water that they charge and certain water of no cost. At the end of the night because they had to close early we had no way out but to go far but they told us before we made the reservation we would be able to have until 8:30. I was as not going to let my grandmother walk so far to the after paying almost $250 for our meal so I asked very nicely if they could guide us to another exit and the lady was SO RUDE. I WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE AGAIN. The waiter even forgot the celebration cake!
The crab salad was outstanding and server Blaze very attentive. Manager Duane was visible throughout to be sure all tables were being handled efficiently.
Pleasant, up-scale dining room for special occasions. Not sure the experience was worth the price, however. I don't mind paying these prices if the experience is exceptional, but while service, setting, and food were good, they were not memorable.
Service was slow and waiter didn't come to check our foods after food was delivered. Lunch is better. Food is expensive.
Thought grilled chicken salad was not worth the price. The portobello mushroom sandwich was excellent and priced appropriately.
Service was excellent and the staff was friendly.
GRILLED SHRIMP SOMEN SALAD* 25
chilled somen noodles, prosciutto, local watercress and
baby romaine, watermelon radish, carrots, cucumber,
toasted sesame seed dressing. cal 820
**The somen noodles were badly overcooked! Ate around the noodles picking only at the watercress and other greens, and the shrimp. Salad was very bland - did not even taste the dressing. I made sure to let the server know and they were nice to take it off our check - mind you that my guest had the same exact entree. Very embarassing and still hungry when we left!
Always good !!
