COZY ITALIAN RESTAURANT...
YOU FOUND IT!
"Even though it is nestled in a gold coast highrise and sounds high style, Mario's Ristorante exudes more warmth than a convention of Italian grandmas. The friendly staff aims to please, and so do the pastas, salads, and boneless chicken vesuvio…"
Visited Mario's Table after attending a matinee holiday show with my family. Looking for a good, casual Italian restaurant and Mario's did not disappoint. While a little distance from the theater district, I wanted a "non-touristy" restaurant to enjoy with my family. Fantastic food and better service! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing dinner with good food and conversation. Mario checked in our table a couple times and he and (what felt like) the entire staff thanked us for our patronage as we exited the restaurant. This was our first visit and we will definitely be back.
Mario’s Table is one of favorites—great food (including gluten-free options) and super service.
Wonderful, authentic Italian food and wine!
Mario’s table was a great dining experience. Food was outstanding and service was great!
Mario’s is always a good be!
Great neighborhood gathering place. Many regulars. Good food selections both for attending the restaurant and to pick up and take home.
Quick service, good neighborhood to go to place, food good as well.
A great find in neighborhood across from hotel. Very friendly, excellent food and plenty, pleasant atmosphere, and owner visited each table. Great experience for 2 seventy year olds, but filled with multi age, ethnic diners.
The meatballs were the best...and the sauce is Deliscious!!
Food was excellent and our waiter was extraordinary.
Great neighborhood restaurant with friendly staff, conveniently located, great food at fantastic prices.
Great food, staff, location, and ambiance. So, what more can I say?
I’ve been to Mario’s before and have always enjoyed their food. But the service this time was abysmal. We waited 15 minutes for a server to notice us and 20 more minutes after that before we got our first drinks. We had to flag him down to order our food after that and the next time we saw him, he had our check. Will not be going back on any remotely popular night as it seemed like they somehow couldn’t handle the Saturday night buzz.
We went on a busy Saturday night, were seated promptly with our reservation but sat at our table without anyone greeting us or any water for about 10 minutes. Split a Caesar salad which was large and no complaints. I got the lobster ravioli - very small portion for what you pay (3 raviolis), lobster filling was just ok. Wouldn’t order it again. Boyfriend got the chicken Parmesan, good sized portion and the angel hair & marinara sauce was tasty. The chicken was decent but a little dry. Overall this place was pretty so/so for the price and I’ve had better Italian close by in the area. If I went back I’d try the pizza instead, looked pretty good and was very reasonably priced.
Three dinners here and three great experiences. Exceptional food, good wine list and the perfect combination of “casual foodie” atmosphere.
Local resident, go here often. Always great, always consistent and the owner works the room. Went to high school with him. The place has had a longtime winning formula.
Nice, friendly atmosphere, good food. Good neighborhood spot or for well priced meal in a generally pricey neighborhood.
Becoming our fav place in the neighborhood. Friendly service, wonderful food, and reasonable prices.
Mario’s Table is an excellent place to dine!
The food, service and atmosphere are exceptional.
Outstanding and nice dinner. We were a group of 5, promptly seated and served. Everything was very friendly and well intentioned
Friendly, comfortable place with great ambiance. Mario makes you glad you came
The best Italian food in Chicago
We had a reservation we needed moved an hour earlier and a party of 8. The food was absolutely delicious, the service was great and Mario made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks for a great night!
Everything was amazing! Bruschetta is to die for
Food was fantastic! Great location, would recommend.
Everything about this place was amazing! We will be making this a regular spot every time we come to Chicago now. The Lasagna I had was delicious and my husband's chicken parmesan was the best he ever had he said. The servers are very friendly and the wine was very good too! If you are in the area, you have to give this place a try. You will not be disappointed!
Another great meal at Mario’s! Chicken Parmesan was fantastic.
It's the neighborhood "Cheers" where we always feel welcome!
Poor service. Too loud. Probably would not go back
Mario came by to chat and thank us for visiting. Very cool. They were really busy so we also got asked to turn over the table. We got it. Great place. Great food.
Food here is always good. Recently, the ravioli has been especially GREAT!
Delicious food. Great service
We loved the pizza - thinnest crust in town and wonderful flavors. The salad was soggy, old fashioned and had a bad taste. Good place if you are into ordering pizza only - or to carry out pizza.
Cozy, Crowded and worth it as the food was fabulous as always. Thanks, Mario.
It's a good local Italian. Plenty of vegetarian options. Food was good and tasted fresh.
Very good food and service. Particularly enjoyed the fried calamari!
Marios is a neighborhood Italian restaurant. It has a great variety of dishes - something for everyone. They have the best chocolate gelato ever!
We've been going here for many years when in Chicago. Made the trek clear across town to go there. One of our favorite spots!
WHAT A BLAST! I've loved my neighborhood for decades and Mario's makes the Gold Coast of Chicago even better. I brought my dad and husband here for a late dinner to relax and enjoy company as I travel a ton and wanted someplace local. DONE! Karin our server was so much fun and attentive that we ordered another glass of wine post-dine to just sit and talk with extra dessert even. As a vegan myself contributing to mercy yet GREAT FOOD, but with others who eat everything, this was one of the most relaxed enjoyable evenings in a long time because of their genuine care. I love that Mario comes around and says hello and inquires how we like the food, as I thanked him for making the minestrone soups so awesome. The entire team seemed to enjoy working there. Anyway, just glad these guys represent Chicago because great authentic food and service are here with simple fresh ingredients that are sooo good. Oh, there's this wine that Karen suggested with my dinner after she asked what I like overall. A new grape I've never heard of but wow: Falanghina. We left with mints and a smile.
