In the kitchen is Mario’s brother Sal, the chef who is out daily in the early morning markets personally selecting the ingredients for the seasonally changing menu and seeking out the most interesting and pristine items.
Placing yourselves in Mario’s hands for the tasting menus proves to be a wise decision. The Marino wine list has been repeatedly an award winner by Wine Spectator.

Antipasto / Market Salad / Tomato Gazpacho
romaine hearts, caesar dressing, seasoned crumbs, parmigiano
Cesar salad was too chopped up and wilted.
Spinach was bland and could not taste garlic.
Everything spot on great classic Italian American food. Excellent food quality products.
Fine Italian dining with a family atmosphere. Excellent wine list and surprisingly good cocktails. Seasonal specials are always good, but the old standby pasta dishes are the best. They are still serving in the converted parking lot, outdoor dining space which is very comfortable.
A very passionate and well run presentation of food and great atmosphere...Very authentic European
Food and service are always exceptional. The gnocchi with shaved black truffles is a must! Tables in the back patio are well spaced out and there are sufficient heaters.
The restaurant only had outdoor seating. There were not enough outdoor heaters to go around and it was windy and cold so we froze during dinner. Not a very enjoyable experience
Great food and excellent service!
First time going and we loved the food! Def recommend friends to go. My fav was the fried calamari and the chicken Parmesan ❤️
Great Italian Restaurant. Excellent Wine List. Very creative menu.
The food is always fabulous. I have never had a dish there that was not delicious. The owners, Mario and Sal, are always gracious and friendly. It is a lovely place for a luxurious luncheon or dinner. But be sure to go when you are not in a rush so you can enjoy the meal, Italian style.
We really enjoy the way they have setup outside - it's away from the street, has shade and plenty of space between parties. The specials are worth the trip over, every time! Every dish we have tried has been amazing!!! If they still have the mushroom appetizer special, you have to try it.
Nice place, good service and great food. Everything I had was superb.
It's always good here. I've been coming here for more than 20 years. Food quality and service never changes!! One of my favorite place to eat.
Not only did we have to wait after the reservation time, but we were then asked if we had been vaccinated. I guess HIPPA doesn’t apply. The service was super slow. We had to ask for drink refills 3x and bread service 2x. Food took forever to arrive, and it was mediocre at best. Beef filet tasted OLD, not aged. We even had to wait way to long to pay the bill. We will never go back.
Incredible classic Italian food with modern elements here and there.
Excellent food. Wonderful service. Pleasant outdoor dining
Marino's is our favorite. Excellent food, service and ambience. Farm to table specials as well as old school Italian favorites. Mario and Sal have kept Marino's running with class and style throughout the pandemic, with the food better than ever.
As always a pleasure and delight to dine at Marinos.
it was great
Best outdoor dining experience, they have fixed up the parking lot into a very nice space. Great food and service as always.
Great food and very friendly people. We are definitely going back.
Food and service consistently excellent
Marino has always been our go-to for both everyday dining and special occasions but especially during the pandemic. The service is impeccable and they have been open as much as possible given the lock down orders. The “patio” is charming and spacious. Very fresh, seasonal Italian specials and old stand-bys. Mario is a gracious host and Chef Sal’s food is better than ever.
The new outdoor setup under the string lit olive tree is relaxing and romantic. This family owned restaurant is a favorite of mine. Great for date night or a casual get together with good friends.
Fabulous, particularly in these Covid times. Great protocols, even better chow.
Better than ever. Mario, Sal and the whole team have stepped up their game during the pandemic. We have a lot of choices in the neighborhood for wonderful Italian food and this is our favorite. The specials are farm to table seasonally selected, and the old stand-byes still great. The “patio” (parking lot) dining is spacious and pretty.
FANTASTIC!!! Mario and Chef Marino just do it right.
It was great to see them so busy and the service and the food was excellent !! Can’t wait until the idiot Newsome gets recalled so all these excellent restaurants like Marino can open fully and do what they know how to do best ... Beautiful food and wonderful service !!
Help support this local gem. Food is truly Italian and wonderful.
First time here and I can’t believe it. What a gem and they did such a good job making the back lot comfortable and cute. Nice ambiance with light, heat lamps, sunshades and dinner music. Will be going back soon.
The food was amazing so that’s reason enough to go back
Amazing food and best service. 10/10 would recommend!
The food and wine are very good. They've done a nice job of converting their back parking lot into an outside dining area.
Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Will be back.
The best dining experience available presently anywhere in the city. Large outdoor dining space with socially distanced tables, exceptional food and service. Tonight we had the caprese salad, cassonetti with white truffles, and chicken parmigiana. All was outstanding.
Best italan meal in Los Angeles and one of my five best anywhere outside of Italy.Sal and Mario are world class operators of a top flight restaurant that is a real gem and one not to be missed.
The outdoor patio was lovely. The waiters were nice. The menu was good. Our appetizers were quite tasty - a unique Mushroom Salad, and order of Brussels Sprouts. Our main issue was with the main courses. The Veal Funghi sauce was delicious and the vegetables were good -- however, the veal was very tough and not tender at all. Worse, was the Fettuccine with Scallops and Shrimp. The scallops, shrimp and sauce were fine, but the fettuccine was totally under-cooked and hard! It wasn't just al dente, it was actually too hard to chew. I would've have sent it back, but my boyfriend was embarrassed and didn't want to make a fuss. I was shocked though, that a fine Italian restaurant would serve pasta that was not cooked enough to eat! It was hard. The other problem was that the wait to get the food was very long. After the bread was delivered, we waited a really long time to get our food. I wish my ratings could have been higher - it's a nice restaurant, but we were disappointed with the long wait and mostly by the too tough veal and too hard fettuccine. We ended up taking them home in doggie bags, figuring we could re-cook the pasta. We never ate the veal. Sadly, I wish it could have been better, as it is a lovely restaurant with a nice outdoor environment.
Classy contemporary Italian - not a "red sauce" joint as Yelp suggests
The food was fantastic! Highly recommend the stuffed squash blossoms.
No one knows Italian seafood like Chef Sal! The menu always includes the best seasonal ingredients, executed beautifully and with great service. Thoughtfully curated, reasonably priced wine list as well. The outdoor dining space they have set up due to COVID is quiet, graced by a 100-year-old olive tree, and nicer than most.
