Lunch service during a busy national conference should be fairly quick but it seemed we had to flag down the wait staff. My water glass was never refilled but honestly it seemed to have some dirt or something gross in it so I was left drinking water from the bottle of water I brought with me. Food was just ok.

For a convention hotel, the service here was really great. It was nice to be greeted with genuine familiarity on repeat visits! And we had no complaints about anything we ate or drank during our stay!

We were seated near the bar during a busy cocktail hour, so we could barely hear one another talking. The food was good, but very overpriced. The service, however, was terrible. It appeared there was a single waiter and only one food runner. Both were friendly, but weren’t able to provide satisfactory service. (It was nearly ten minutes after my food arrive that I finally received silverware… and even then it was because I went to host stand to retrieve.)

Restaurant was understaffed in our view. Delays in all aspects of the dinner from order taking all the way through receiving our check at the end. It was over 90 minutes for flatbread and soup.

We are here 6 out of our 7 day stay. This restaurant was AMAZING. Ambiance is great, food was always spot on, service was over the top AMAZING! Kudos to our server, Shaddy!!! He made our dining experience for our friend and family getaway vacation so much better! He took care of us from day 1 and we just kept asking for him every single day. We even celebrated my husband’s birthday with Shaddy. We were traveling with a baby and a picky toddler. He was so attentive to our toddler and so accommodating, even asking if he should bring food out for the little one first. As a parent, this small but HUGE gesture meant the world to us. We dine out a lot and travel lots but he is the first server we’ve ever encountered to pay attention to our little one and care. We appreciated him going above and beyond for our family hence he’s a major reason why we kept coming back every night. The food was always amazing, and very reasonable costs. Thx again Shaddy for everything!!! Your friends from Seattle miss you!

We decided to try this restaurant because of its convenient location near the trolley and its nice views. Typically, hotel restaurants—especially those inside a Marriott—offer a great dining experience, so we had high expectations. Unfortunately, we left disappointed and agreed this would be our last visit. With so many excellent dining options in Downtown San Diego, there’s no reason to settle for slow and mediocre service. That said, our server was not to blame. He was set up for failure by management on Valentine’s Day. His section was far too large, and he had no support. It took over eight minutes just to place our drink order, and when our drinks finally arrived, they came out at the same time as our entrees and appetizer. On top of that, the server forgot what we had ordered and had to return to confirm. At that point, I canceled my cocktail and opted for soda water, as I had lost confidence in the bar’s ability to deliver a well-made drink in a timely manner. The unfortunate part is that the restaurant could have easily increased its sales if service had been better. We were prepared to order a bottle of wine, after-dinner drinks, and dessert, but the experience led us to cut our losses. After paying the check, we decided to go to Nonna’s in Little Italy, where we enjoyed drinks and dessert—exactly what we had hoped for initially. It’s disappointing that poor staffing and management decisions resulted in such a lackluster experience, especially on a night as significant as Valentine’s Day. Hopefully, they address these issues in the future, but unfortunately, we won’t be returning to find out.

We have been here several times and it’s pretty good! Definitely the best hotel food I’ve ever had. Service can be touch and go but nothing too bad. When we stay at the Marriott this place is always our fall back.

Overall a good meal. Somewhat limited menu options for sandwiches/handhelds. Otherwise, I'd recommend this spot.
