Had a lovely dinner there,,,,great atmosphere and good service from Aziz.
My wife and I had the Sunday brunch (11/18) and were thoroughly disappointed. Other than the typical breakfast foods (scrambled eggs, bacon, grits, fruit, etc...) there was not much else. Prime rib, omelet stations with a cheese board with a whopping three cheeses and no crackers. No seafood?? Not even shrimp. Service was slow and bloody mary bar was extra. Don't get me wrong the food wasn't bad but it wasn't a brunch. It would be more accurate to call this a breakfast buffet but not a Sunday brunch. If you're looking for a real Sunday brunch go to Oystercatchers.
We have stayed at the Vinoy several times in the past to celebrate my husbands and my birthday. Friends and family would come and meet us for the Sunday Brunch which was incredible. We hadn’t gone in the last couple years but we decided to come again this past Sunday. We were very disappointed with the brunch. all the food and service was good but it did not compare to how it used to be. I understand that the price is much lower, but I would prefer to spend more to get the choices that used to be offered. For instance...no oysters, crab or shrimp , no potatoes or vegetables of any kind, no salads of any kind. Desert choices were nothing more than a few muffins and some danish not the miniature tart, cakes, chocolate fondue, cookies etc. Again, not to say what was offered wasn’t bad and not that the price wasn’t fair, but to me, it’s just an ordinary buffet that you can get anywhere, not the very special experience it once was.
First impression at the hostess station was very much below expectations!!!
It was my mistake not knowing this is a bar and grill rather than a special occasion restaurant that it used to be. I was disappointed with everything about it for my birthday celebration. The ambiance, slow service, high prices and lack of selections, I paid $10+ for a tomato appetizer that had 4 sliced cherry tomatoes, few slices of bread, pesto and a hunk of fresh mozzarella cheese....pitifully overpriced. Since there were 5 of us dining we each got less than 1 cherry tomato. Will never return.
Our meals were delicious. I ordered the salmon and my husband had the filet. Wonderful service and we were sat right away.
My friend and I were celebrating our Birthdays - the Server was fantastic and even brought each of us a piece of your chocolate cake with a candle! Very thoughtful! I took advantage of your Brunch Buffett and my friend order off the menu. She was very pleased as I was. I enjoy just coming by and sitting on the porch sometimes and watching the boats and people while enjoying a snack. Great place! Thank you and Aloha!
I came to your establishment in hopes of treating my girlfriend to nice dinner where she could be dressed up and feeling "girly" while enjoying a birthday celebration with our friends. You accomplished that! She loved the setting and felt spoiled by the being in your restaurant. The waiter was pleasant and on time and even treated us to slice of delicious cake with Happy Birthday written on the plate, all because I mentioned why we were there. I come from a customer service background. If everyone paid attention to the details as you did that evening, how wonderful would other experiences be! Thank you again for making my special girl's night extra special!!!
My husband and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary with a Sunday brunch here (we spent our wedding night at the Vinoy so it has a special place in our hearts). Zach was SUCH a great waiter and we had a lovely and fun experience, topped out with courtesy mimosas which were delicious!
Expensive, but very nice with excellent service. It will be interesting to see what changes, if any, the new owners will make.
Great food and selection on the brunch buffet! I hope at some point they will do make your own mimosas with other types of juices as well since they allow you to make your own bloody mary. Great service, all food was fantastic.
We came for Sunday brunch buffet and it was fine. For us, it was just eggs, bacon, sausage and some sliced prime rib because we are all gluten, grain, and sugar free in our eating. The price was not equal to the value of that kind of breakfast, but the staff was very nice and professional, but our plates stacked up and our waters were only refilled once. Meh.
One of us was having a birthday and the chef did create a gluten free dessert for her - luckily she was not the sugar free one because that thing was definitely not sugar free but it appeared to be grain and gluten free so we really did appreciate that effort and it made her morning special.
The hotel is amazing so we walked around and enjoyed the historical site. The waterfront view is beautiful.
We love the little Saturday buffet at Marchands. We go there for special occasions, girlie get together or just because! This particular time, we celebrated our anniversary morning there; when we told our waiter of the occasion, at the end of our meal, he brought us a plate with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate with four little candies on it along with a sip of champagne! They always, always treat you special!
It was very disappointing. We had been to Marchand's several times before and had expected a very good mean and a lovely evening.
Everything was out of kilter. The wine we ordered could not be found, and an inferior substitute was offered, which we rejected. Ultimately, our wine was not served until we had finished our appetizers. My grouper was overly salty, and I sent it back. The table was never cleared and the service, in general, was very slow.
We spent quite a bit of money at the restaurant. It was definitely not worth it, and we will not be going back.
The fish spread was delicious and a great value. I would pass on the lobster grill cheese as I couldn't taste any lobster.
Wonderful dinner with fantastic service! Thank you!
Enjoyed the evening. Have enjoyed the 1925 menu several times and will be sending a couple pics for your use after post processing.
The food is truly excellent. Fresh ingredients with perfect and creative preparation and presentation. We had rock shrimp chowder, grouper and scallops. Superb bread was a bonus treat. A food lover's delight.
Good service, but the food was poor. Both fish dinners were dry and somewhat tasteless, as was the cake of both desserts. And it wasn’t cheap. As for ambiance, the lights were dimmed about 9:30, which was very nice, but less than five minutes later, they were back up. When we asked the waiter why, he said the only other table of three women had requested it, as they wanted to see one another. We requested the lights be dimmed twice, but figured it never happened because the women were spending more. Geeze. Won’t eat there again.
We celebrated our anniversary here. The ribeye and au gratin were delish 😍😍😍 Service and ambiance at the Vinoy are great.
We both had the salmon. It was served in a skillet with a bed of succotash And topped with a drizzle of honey. It was the best salmon we’ve had in several years. Highly recommended.
Manager visited table and was truly concerned in making our visit the best. We had lunch but returned that night for a night cap. Lovely ambiance.
Waitress disappeared so we were without water and tea for 15 minutes. Not busy so we were concerned about her.
I eat in restaurants literally every day and appreciate good service and great food. My experience at Marchand’s was a cut above anything I have experienced in years. I’ll be back.
It's not a particularly large menu, but we ordered steaks, which were cooked perfectly. Good ambiance; much quieter than some of the other places along Beach Drive. Great service by Ivailo.
The Vinoy is a favorite hotel for us. We always have one or more meals at Marchand;s and have never been disappointed. Dinner on this particular occasion was my wife's birthday. They made it special for her and we both appreciate it.
Just wonderful all around.
Food was good, but the overall experience was not what we expected from such an upscale, pricey property. Both my husband and I have worked at restaurants, and we try to give the staff the benefit of the doubt, but there were just too many things that did should/should not have been done that made the experience unsatisfactory. Maybe they just didn't have their "A team" that night. We would go back to have a drink and listen to the live music, but probably not to eat.
It was a very enjoyable experience. I love the feeling of stepping back in time when I enter the Vinoy. Marchand's is located in the original hotel dining room. Though the interior has changed since 1925, the hand painted ceiling has been restored in every detail. In keeping with the theme of this vintage property we ordered a prohibition era cocktail, a honey and citrus drink called The Bees Knees.
The meal was very good. I chose the grouper and my wife had the rib-eye. Grouper with lobster cream and asparagus was delicious. The steak was done to perfection. We also shared the chocolate molten lava cake which was a great way to top off an excellent meal.
I have recommended Marchand's to all my friends.
We took Mom there for Mothers Day. She loved it. We truly enjoyed the pianist on Saturday, 5/12. She knew all the great tunes. It was a very enjoyable time!
Wonderful service and great food. The most enjoyable scallops I have ever had. My wife enjoyed her salmon also!
Aziz was our weighter . Kind, patient wanted to make sure we were enjoying our time. Glad we chose Marchand’s Bar & Grill . We were able to leave our car in valets after eating and walked around. It was a good time. Food was exquisite .
Too bright, no music
The service and food were outstanding and The service was amazing!!
I took my mother for her birthday and requested a table with a view in my reservation. Hostess was going to give us a table, but when I asked for another with a view, she complied. Olivia was our server and she was wonderful. I miss the old Classic Dining Menu with two options for starters (soup or salad) and the same for dessert. We didn't care for our salads. Mother ordered off the regular menu, but I chose the 1925 Menu and loved my steak entree and the dessert. Mother liked her salmon, as well. I was going to ask if they had some sort of chocolate dessert, but Olivia brought a slice of decadent chocolate cake plated on a raspberry drizzle and the words "Happy Birthday" in chocolate around the plate AND a candle to make a wish. It was a very nice evening.
It was a very enjoyable experience. The meal was very good and a great value. I have recommended Marchand's at the Vinoy to all my friends.
Great service. Delicious food and the chefs went above and beyond to create a low carb dessert for my bf’s bdy!
Great service and great food. What more could you want.
We had a lovely dinner at Marchand’s. The service was wonderful. Grouper with lobster cream and asparagus was very rich and delicious. The salmon with corn succotash was prepared with fresh corn. Nice and crispy and full of flavor. The chocolate layer cake was layered with chocolate mouse and served with blueberry coulis and whipped cream. Can’t wait to go back!
Best meal on Beach drive - hands down!!! Perfectly cooked grouper and seared scallops. Just wonderful!!
