always a pleasant restaurant to meet for brunch w/firends. quiet and assuming.
Beautiful, old Florida vibe. Great food and service. Can't wait to get back!
As always, very good.
Our server, a Marchands veteran of many years, was terrific as usual. The food was very good though the bone-in ribeye was not a top quality cut of meat.
Greeted with indifference. Seated at too large a table for the party. Very slow service—main courses did not arrive for 40 minutes after order. Chianti ordered by the glass was not fresh. But individual server was conscientious and friendly.
Would have liked to sit by window. That area if the restaurant was empty. Much nicer view.
Exceptional service. 1925 menu is a great value. Appreciate valet parking. We will return.
Very good food and service. Limited menu but cooked well
Had the grouper. always superb. Server was very friendly and gracious. Love this place. Very elegant atmosphere. Piano was lovely but a bit loud for me.
Very nice evening— loved this Old World setting. Food was fabulous (some of best scallops I have ever eaten!) and attentive service. Nice wine selection. Only negative was loud group in center bar area destroying the ambiance for diners.
The lighting was harsh . When we arrived there was perfect lighting but throughout the evening it was bright then less then more . Maybe just tech problems.
Lovely service, great food, polite staff. We will return again while wintering here from Toronto.
What happened to this very upscale hotel/restaurant.
Very tired feeling
Buffet is insulting at best (Budget hotel feeling)
Although we the had problems with one of our meals, they more than made up for it by replacing it with another selection. It's a lovely place to visit with family.
Our waitress Heather was excellent....very friendly and informative. She was MORE than accommodating to our needs.
Although the menu has been downsized considerable since we began meeting here 20 years ago, it still was ample to make a choice.
Cocktail sauce bland. Drinks tasty. Scallops had an entire salt shaker on them. Limited menu, no sides. Waiter attentive. Ambiance so so. Would have been better with live music (piano, jazz, etc,). Wouldn't go back.
I have to give one star as we never had the opportunity to dine. After 15-20 minutes of not being acknowledged, we left and walked to a different place. The room was not overly busy but it seemed like none of the servers wanted to stop by. Beautiful room and hope that it was just an off night.
Good friends and Christmas plans
I had gone to this restaurant for many years for special occasions, but hadn't been in quite some time. I took my daughter for a special birthday and it wasn't even very crowded. The appetizer was good. but then it took a long time to get two salads with a piece of grilled chicken on them. The chicken was delicious but the salad was small and the dressing on mine had no flavor and seemed watered down (creamy goat cheese dressing).
Oh, and there was construction going on very close to the dining room. It sounded like a loud saw running just around the corner in the dining room. Not the experience I expected for the price or caliber of property. The hotel is beautiful however.
Not a great meal, and the menu was very limited.
The filet minion was done perfectly and very tender. Server was a little slow to our liking. We had to go out of our way to get him to come to our table.
Great food and service. A must experience for special occasions.
Their seasonal menu is delicious. This chef is a keeper. Our server was very attentive.
The 1925 Menu is the bargain to beat bargains! Excellent 3-course meal inside the absolutely gorgeous Vinoy Hotel! (The regular Menu is amazing,to say the least.)
Love the joy of people watching, looking out at the fire pits with occasional live music and waterside. Fabulous!! If you get a message that it is "sold out" from Open Table- place a call directly to the Marchand Room .
Always an elegant place to eat. That said, the staff should have enough sense not to vacuum next to customers during lunch, especially when the place is almost empty. Surely they could find something better to do.
Amazing service and waiter, no complaints
We enjoyed the 1925 menu before a show. The food was exquisite! But the service made the experience incredible!! Donald paced the meal to perfection; not too quick between courses but sensitive to our schedule. We’ll be back soon and often.
wonderful attention to detail by the whole staff: from the reservation handling, the wait staff's
attention and the excellent food preparation (all without salt, as requested). fine service by the
staff. especially our waiter, pedro. but ambiance is too quiet and lighting too dark.
It’s a great place. Desserts were limited and not very good. Very nice piano music but still loud. Makes it difficult to have a conversation
Food was delicious and server, Aziz, was friendly and attentive. Wonderful setting with live music. We'll be back!
If the coq au vin is to remain on the menu, it must be prepared correctly. A dry flavorless boneless breast of chicken does not properly represent this lovely french dish.
The mushroom bisque is outstanding!
We had an outstanding dining experience and especially loved the live music--- a jazz trio, La Lucha, from the Tampa Bay area. An awesome night!
We went to enjoy their summer special which the menu was advertised on their website This was not the menu presented to us at the table The food was salty and unappetizing They also did not have the Prosecco available The manager was very nice We were very disappointed
The room is a lovely historic space and the tables are nice with very comfortable seating. Service was attentive and everyone enjoyed their meal. REGRETFULLY, the hotel guests patronizing the center bar were drunk and shouting...for over 2 hours. UNACCEPTABLE. Management MUST create an environment that is welcoming to all. We spent $500 on dinner for 4 persons. Was ruined by trashy, conference attendees and their uncontrolled behavior. Would NEVER recommend, as a Platinum Elite member of Marriott. STAY AWAY!
Service outstanding. Very accommodating. Food was delicious especially the sushi, mushroom bisque (delicious, frothy, and beautifully presented) and filet (tender, perfectly cooked). Scallops were good but not as good of a sear as I would of hoped and risotto was a bit too mushy. Desserts (carrot cake and flan) were amazing. An enjoyable evening.
We enjoyed a breakfast while staying at The Vinoy. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious and the friendliness of the staff was amazing. The menu choices were very nice and they also brought a shot glass complimentary smoothie as another gesture of their hospitality. Definitely we will be back for breakfast here. Leisurely, non-rushed enjoyable experience.
Great atmosphere, great food. We drive from Sarasota to meet friends there.
Warm welcome with personal engagement. Awesome amuse bouche. Prompt and friendly service. Fabulous filet and super sushi. Delicious desert. Ate at a legend!
One of the best meals we've had in our 14 years in Fl.
grouper presentation was unusually tasty. Caesar salad with several real anchovies was a treat. Lemon sorbet-very tasty. My husband enjoyed his filet. All in all, a perfect feast for our anniv celebration. And, excellent service from our server,, Zlatow
