It was a very enjoyable experience. I love the feeling of stepping back in time when I enter the Vinoy. Marchand's is located in the original hotel dining room. Though the interior has changed since 1925, the hand painted ceiling has been restored in every detail. In keeping with the theme of this vintage property we ordered a prohibition era cocktail, a honey and citrus drink called The Bees Knees.
The meal was very good. I chose the grouper and my wife had the rib-eye. Grouper with lobster cream and asparagus was delicious. The steak was done to perfection. We also shared the chocolate molten lava cake which was a great way to top off an excellent meal.
I have recommended Marchand's to all my friends.
Wonderful service and great food. The most enjoyable scallops I have ever had. My wife enjoyed her salmon also!
We took Mom there for Mothers Day. She loved it. We truly enjoyed the pianist on Saturday, 5/12. She knew all the great tunes. It was a very enjoyable time!
Aziz was our weighter . Kind, patient wanted to make sure we were enjoying our time. Glad we chose Marchand’s Bar & Grill . We were able to leave our car in valets after eating and walked around. It was a good time. Food was exquisite .
Too bright, no music
The service and food were outstanding and The service was amazing!!
I took my mother for her birthday and requested a table with a view in my reservation. Hostess was going to give us a table, but when I asked for another with a view, she complied. Olivia was our server and she was wonderful. I miss the old Classic Dining Menu with two options for starters (soup or salad) and the same for dessert. We didn't care for our salads. Mother ordered off the regular menu, but I chose the 1925 Menu and loved my steak entree and the dessert. Mother liked her salmon, as well. I was going to ask if they had some sort of chocolate dessert, but Olivia brought a slice of decadent chocolate cake plated on a raspberry drizzle and the words "Happy Birthday" in chocolate around the plate AND a candle to make a wish. It was a very nice evening.
It was a very enjoyable experience. The meal was very good and a great value. I have recommended Marchand's at the Vinoy to all my friends.
Great service. Delicious food and the chefs went above and beyond to create a low carb dessert for my bf’s bdy!
Great service and great food. What more could you want.
We had a lovely dinner at Marchand’s. The service was wonderful. Grouper with lobster cream and asparagus was very rich and delicious. The salmon with corn succotash was prepared with fresh corn. Nice and crispy and full of flavor. The chocolate layer cake was layered with chocolate mouse and served with blueberry coulis and whipped cream. Can’t wait to go back!
Best meal on Beach drive - hands down!!! Perfectly cooked grouper and seared scallops. Just wonderful!!
salad was not good. Lettuce was warm, wilted. Entree was better, trout was under seasoned. Prior meals here have been very good, we tried the special meal, it was luke warm in temperature and flavor. Service was outstanding.
Salmon bagel very good. The Sunday brunch very good. Our server Cliff was wonderful.
Our waiter and service was amazing. The food was just average not really worth the price.
Beautiful old building well kept up. Very noisy as two bands playing simultaneously in close proximity. Fun night with good food.
First time in a long time that we were there. We went before the theatre so it was early. But, everything was unique and delicious. Our waiter was excellent and he was very timely between courses. Will definitely return!
Nice Brunch, Great Mimosas, Fantastic service from Pedro, first time and will definitely be back
We as a party of four came to celebrate an out-of-town friend's birthday. Service was attentive but unobtrusive and the restaurant surprised us with a nice birthday cake and candle for the birthday girl. The entrees -- one of sushi, one of ribeye, one of filet mignon, one of salmon -- were all well-prepared and attractively served. Thank you!
Celebrating special birthday with Vinoy stay and our dinner here was awesome!
We dined in The Wine Room and our waiter
Aziz was Top Notch!
All 4 of our dinners were delicious- scallops,
Grouper, mahi mahi.
Served in small cast iron cassoulets- hot & perfect.
Wonderful wine list.
We enjoyed historic setting - will return when in St.Pete!
A bit disappointing. My husband and I have been to the Sunday Brunch on four previous occasions. It used to be exceptional. Sadly it isn’t the same. No longer has a seafood and raw bar. No dessert table. Nothing exceptional.
We had the 1925 dinner plus an appetizer. Every item was well-prepared and tasty except the dessert, which was quite ordinary. The dinner room is quiet and the background music was subdued. It is a good place to have dinner for a special occasion.
Beautiful restaurant with great food and service. Good for a special occasion
Lovely setting. Great service
The food was delicious! The buffet area was plentiful and very clean. The host staff was friendly and our waiter Clifford was friendly and attentive to our needs. We will definitely be back again!
Everything my husband and I ordered was excellent - French onion soup, scallops, trout, key lime pie, and a strawberry/whipped cream/biscuit dessert. The chef really knows how to create taste sensations! What made the evening even more special, however, was the service - absolute perfection!
Very disappointed in the food quality and scope, value at $70/plate just not there. We stayed at the Vinoy years ago for a weekend package that included the Sunday Brunch and it was excellent at that time. What a downhill slide since then. We brought family to this brunch from out of town and bragged about the Vinoy Brunch.... big mistake and embarasing to say the least.
Jeasus was the best server. Ask for Jesus.
We saw the menu on-line and looked very good. When we got there they said they just changed the menu that evening. The Classic Menu was not very good; included mac and cheese, trout, and hanger steak. Very cheap meals and not really worth $19.25. If we go back, we will only have drinks.
Marchands at The Vinoy was a lovely dining experience. I took my mother who especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere while dining as it enabled us to have a wonderful discussion without having to try to talk or yell above other diners or too loud music as is so often the case with some restaurants. We found that there was a menu for early dining that was both very good value and wonderfully delicious food . We enjoyed all three courses of our prefix meal. And even though we did order that special value menu, the service was as professional as if we had been the biggest spenders in the dining room. That was very nice and garnered an extra tip. Our table for two had a few over the water and gardens. The seating was very comfortable and the presentation of food on unique dishes was appreciated. The quality of the food was superb.
For this level of restaurant at this nice of a hotel, I expected a much more comprehensive menu. The selections are very limited, and were we not constrained by time, we would have gone looking for another restaurant. That said, the food was good and our server was quite pleasant. Our table had a good view, but the restaurant is large and not very intimate. Probably will not be back unless the menu is overhauled.
Always a good experience at Marchand's. Very nice setting and surroundings for taking a walk after dinner.
Amazing experience! The food and service were outstanding. Celebrated my wife's birthday. Started with a DR Cream & Sugar Porter--real nice. The Caesar salad and lobster chowder were a complete hit. The tenderloin and pot roast entrees were a home run! The 1925 vanilla creme brulee was perfect--thin crust and not overly sweet. Complements to the Chef. John was a very attentive server--outstanding! Highly recommend!!!
Restaurant was fine, unfortunately they didn’t have my open table reservation.
Early bird wasn't an option, but the $19.25 price point from 5pm-6:30pm is what I'd recommend. I'm told its a three course meal that changes daily. Otherwise, priced very high for what you get. Better restaurants in the area for less with people watching & ambiance.
Disappointing! For 20 years we have celebrated the new year with a luncheon at The Vinoy. Unfortunately for the 1st times this was TOTAL failure. The menu had been considerably reduced from the past years. I ordered a bloody Mary. It took a long time to get it and they said they HAD to go find bloody Mary mix. When it came, it was without celery or olives. They said they were out of celery? We ordered a glass of chardonnay and the pour was less than a third glass. I ordered the lobster bisque and it was cold. When it came back from being warmed up, it was still cold. I refused it! The luncheon salad had croutons so hard they were inedible. We asked for the dessert menu and it also was small in selection. My friend ordered a pistachio dessert and it was embarrassingly scant. The past years the desserts have been sumptuous. Upon this we summoned the manager and stated our dissatisfaction with our lunch. They took off our wine. Something has changed to the detriment of this wonderful historical hotel dining experience!
This was the best restaurant I went to while in Florida!
The salads were as fresh as if they were just picked from the garden. The sushi was delicious and so good we had it two nights in a row. Service is excellent with great ambience.
Joined another couple for a delightful evening including dinner. The dining room is lovely with a central bar surrounded by table seating. Our server was informative, helpful in choosing meal courses and attentive without being intrusive. The lobster bisque was superb as was an 18 oz bone-in ribeye. The steak was the “Prime”, the evening meat special. The steak was perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful and served over risotto. A tenderloin was enjoyable as well. However, it arrived with a baked potato without any accompanying items such as butter, sour cream, etc. Their arrival took an excessive amount of time. Dinner salads accompanied by grilled shrimp were also good
Overall a very enjoyable dining experience. The only negatives were the delay in bringing the accompaniments for a baked potato and some noise from the bar patrons.
Would return for fine dining in an elegant setting.
Everyone pulled out the stops for our anniversary after I noted it on OpenTable, first time that's ever worked! Menu is limited, but everything was delicious and carefully prepared. Aziz, our server, was amazing and made us feel as special as we did for our wedding. The historic ambience is just icing on the cake. If you're not staying at the hotel, take some time to check out the lobby and tiny museum.
