This was such a cute place, a little awkward when you walk in as it feels as if it’s in the hotel lobby. Prices were perfect and brunch was really tasty. The servers were all really young (which is fine if they’ve been properly trained), every question on service seemed to really through the server. I get the college town/student work requirement, Quirk could invest more time in ensuring maturity and capability to serve.

Delicious food, beautifully plated and served attentively in an unusual setting - the attractive, vibey foyer of the Quirk Hotel! The rhubarb crisp with thyme ice cream was a delightful combination of flavors but awfully small...The roof top bar has lovely views and a great atmosphere.

We ordered the chefs tasting menu and were truly blown away. Every course was well thought out and the presentation was perfect. My only complaint was that we waited so long between courses. Our waiter was attentive but we weren’t expecting to be there for almost 2 hours eating dinner. The food was remarkable enough that we will definitely be returning.

I loved this place! Everything about it is super social media worthy, but that aside the food is fantastic, the vibe is trendy and the service is great.

Steak ordered medium rare was served rare at best. It was returned for more cooking and was still undercooked. Blue cheese beignets were small, the side of 2 small croutons. Charged for an extra glass of wine. Ganache was just OK. Valet parking did not have umbrellas to escort people in the rain.

We ordered the most expensive thing on the menu. The portion size was minuscule. It was listed as a large entrée and would not even have been qualified as an appetizer. They tried to “make it up“ with us by bringing us another entrée. That Andre was not very good.

Maple and Pine is located in the boutique hotel Quirk. It is a trendy, expensive restaurant but in our second visit we had the Julia Child tasting menu which comes with or without wine pairings. The food on both visits has been superior and the service is very attentive and knowledgeable. I gave the service 4 stars just because the main waiter talked in a weirdly dramatic way. It was a little distracting. The whole dining area and bar is in a cool open space attached to the lobby so expect some moderate noise and activity while dining. Not really a restaurant for small children. As a side note, there is also a rooftop bar for people over 21 which has an awesome 360 view of Richmond skyline.

Fabulous meal. Will, the bartender, is fantastic—a real mixologist. Great Korean wings at the bar . Then we sat down had a delightful dinner with Michael as our server. We chose the l’hommage to Julia Child with wine pairing (and Michael was a great teacher) it was absolutely the most honestly delicious meal I’ve had in ages! The bouillabaisse was so succulent I almost licked the bowl. I just didn’t want to embarrass My husband. The service and ambiance were radiant. We Can’t wait to go back.

I went for a business meal, lunch. Everyone's food was fantastic, not to long of a wait. They did mix up the salad, bringing my coworker chicken instead of shrimp, but this was quickly fixed. The cheesecake was very moist and yummy

We did the 5 course tasting menu for $55 a piece. Each course was a small but delicious bite, not sure if it was necessarily worth the $55 per person for the amount of food we recevied. Highly recommend the cocktails. Service was impeccable. Very romantic and beautiful inside.

Enjoyed Maple & Pine! They had a nice drink list and I enjoyed the Cavatelli very much. Interesting combinations of food made ordering and eating exciting - recommend to anyone who loves to find new places to eat !
Service was nicely done as well as presentation. Open dining with bar was a bit noisy but nothing towards the extreme.

Took 2 business colleagues with diverse palates for dinner. Both were visiting Maple & Pine for the 1st time and both RAVED about the meal throughout the evening.
We ordered appetizers, entrees, and dessert. Everything was enjoyable and delicious, perfectly cooked proteins (we ordered a pork loin, salmon, and halibut). Ambiance, service was perfect and FUN.
I was very proud to show off a little piece of RVA to my colleagues. They loved it and so did I. I'm never disappointed when I come to the Quirk Hotel for a meal, a coffee or for drinks.

We went for dinner on our anniversary. Our server Olivia gave us a complementary glasses of champagne that made the experience from beginning to end extraordinary. I am pescatarian and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was able to advice us very accurate. The wine selection is very interesting, it was hard to pick a bottle. The Food was beautifully garnished, it was like eating a piece of art. The dinner and appetizer were incredibly good but dessert was not as good, we order a chocolate mousse, but it was not fresh. Everything else was wonderful we love the ambiance and the service. We will come back for sure!

This was our first time at Maple and Pine and our server, Oliva was amazing. She took her time and guided us through the menu while giving her recommendations. We both had an amazing meal and a great dining experience. I would recommend Maple and Pine to anyone. Make your reservations early then plan to get there at least an hour ahead of your reservation time so you can enjoy the scenic rooftop bar for some excellent craft cocktails. Give the porch swing a try, you wont be sorry.

Meal was super expensive which would be fine if the food was good. It was not hot, overdone and sat for a while before being served. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing and the wine didn’t come with the food and by the time we’d get the course that was supposed to go with the wine it was long gone. Our waitress barely stopped by our table. For as much as we spent and as many courses (six) were boasted, we left hungry.

Beautiful venue but odd for dinner since where we were seated was too close to other tables in such a large space and clearly in the hotel lobby. So not my favorite for ambiance but food was fabulous and so was service. And of course trip up to rooftop bar after was great way to top off the night.

Went to the restaurant as a pre-anniversary meal and also because a friend works there. I am not a big fan of brunch menus and so I was skeptical when we decided to go. I was pleasantly surprised. From the moment we walked in we knew it was going to be a good experience. From the greeting to the service to the food, it all came together in a delightful way.

Love love love this place- food was amazing, our waiter Torrey was on point with his service and recommendations and the atmosphere was great. Had such a wonderful dinner- my husband got the oysters app and duck entree and he said the oysters were the best VA oysters he has ever had. I had the pork&shrimp dumplings and pork tenderloin and both were fantastically prepared- the tenderloin was the best I ever had and loved the crispy rice with it!

I want to like this place, but it always seems to do something to disappoint. In fairness, we've had some above average meals in the past, but they always seem to drop the ball. Something's undercooked... the server indifferent, or absent... It's a shame, because the place is attractive and refreshingly urban/hip for Richmond. Probably the best thing is to just go for a drink.

We have wanted to stop in for awhile, so glad we made it. We'll be back.
Would like to try the rooftop bar but we have heard there is often a line. Would you consider reservations, we live in New Kent Cty and wouldn't want to risk the drive in only to find a huge line. I would pay a fee to hold a reservation;). Possibly you could offer so many reservations a night and the rest could be foot traffic. Just a thought!

Food was fabulous. In-season ingredients. We shared a morel appetizer which was creative and different. Shared two small plates - pork belly was to die for. I am not always into pork belly because of the layer of fat, but this was so tender and hardly any fat on it. The garlic sauce that went with it was delicious and you need the bread to mop it up! Then we had the dumplings which were wonderful also. The French Chardonnay was perfect and I went home and found it in our grocery store. The staff was attentive and everyone seemed to love their jobs. We went on a week night and so was probably quieter. Be sure to go to their roof-top bar to see the sunset.
