Food was great as always! Service felt a rushed and not particularly friendly, despite the fact that there weren't people waiting for our table. We are fans of this spot, just missing the hospitality we've enjoyed in the past.

Love, love, LOVE this place! I have celiac disease and don't get to eat fried chicken very much (really, ever). Ma'ono makes the most incredible gluten-free fried chicken I've tasted, and much of their delicious menu is accessible to folks like me who have to avoid gluten. Plus: amazing whiskey selection, great music, and a really nice waitstaff. Thank you Ma'ono!

We were celebrating the 88th birthday of my father in law and the staff couldn't have been kinder or more gracious. Food was absolutely delish , as was my craft cocktail.

Ma'ono is a great option for a celebratory meal, a romantic date night, or fun gathering spot for friends.

The food was good, went for the Fried Chicken and was a little disappointed. The white meat way dry and way too much skin was Custer and cooked. Most likely will not order the Fried Chicken again. Way to expensive for what was served

We come here for Brunch when we get a sitter for our 2 young children. It gets loud quickly here. The fried chicken is to die for. Best fried chicken we've ever had, and I grew up in the South.

We love this place. We make plans to visit every time we come from Vancouver. The chicken is that special and the experience and having food cooked with love is usually worth it. Our last experience at Ma'ono however left us all a bit perplexed and not happy. We were asked if we could adjust our 2:45pm Sunday reservation (the only one we could get when I booked) to an earlier time. We couldn't... but we had already pre ordered our chicken I thought we'd have a good 15 minutes before the kitchen closed for service. We were told of this on the phone and again in person at the restaurant. We were put speedily in place and handled with vigor and rushed through the ordering process. Our surly inked waiter was not happy that a table of 6 had landed just before the kitchen closed and treated us with his attitude and also strained to hear us over his very loud music. After being rushed through lunch which was of course delicious we were informed that he couldn't split the bill for us. I guess he didn't have a calculator or this was getting in the way of his smoke breaks. We paid up and left but all with a funny feeling that we may choose another restaurant before we come back here in future. Unless we want a side order of abuse and attitude to go with the poultry. Take care of your guests people!

We were greeted by our favorite hostess and seated promptly at our reservation time. Food and drink were amazing as ever. It was a bit noisy, due to it being a full house, making it a little difficult to hear our server and some of our conversations. It really didn’t adversely effect our total experience. We will definitely be back...

It was great. The food was great. The space is great. Our server was cool but definitely covering too many tables. Maybe just a tiny bit pricey for lunch but well worth it.

People come for the delicious crispy fried chicken but the menu abounds with other interesting choices too, all with a Hawaiian flair. The four of us shared a whole chicken and were licking our fingers joyously but the sides were maybe even better. Order several and take home leftovers! Kimchi, Kimchi Mac n Cheese, Potato Salad, they’re all excellent! The wide selection of creative cocktails and extensive whisky list make it worth a visit just for a drink. It can get a little loud but the atmosphere is hip, modern, and lively and the service is attentive and friendly. All in all one of the top dining experiences in West Seattle that should be on everyone’s “must go” list. Best to reserve your fried chicken in advance because they sometimes run out although that happens far less than it used to.

After stumbling upon an online post about their quality food and whiskey, I figured I'd gather a few friends and give it a go. That was 5 years ago. I've introduced friends and coworkers, both old and new, multiple times since. The best fried chicken I've tasted, period, and maybe the best in the state (come at me with other contenders!).
The sides are plentiful and tasty, the service is family style (lots of bowls/plates of shared goodies), and you can't go wrong with the Spam Musubi, the Bacon Fried Rice is outrageous, and just shut up about how much you 'don't like kimchi' until you try the Mac and Kimcheese. It'll open your mind a little, and you deserve that!

Everything was great except the noise level. We actually had to shout in order to communicate. Phones ringing, musics way to loud. They also didn’t box up the salad that was left. That was a strong highlight of the evening be sure to get the apple turnip salad and the sweet potato !

For a little background, I used to go here for a number of years. But in today’s world they don’t roll chickens in sauce anymore which was hands down their best dish. They also served very bad old fashions. I had gotten an old fashion 6 months before and it was fantastic. But this time it was straight sugar and bitters. Enough to make me send it back and the drink I got back was just as bad. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants but I’m very disappointed with the direction they’re going in and I won’t be going back.

We love this place! The price is fair for the quality, and the food is really great! It's a good idea to make a reservation, and also to reserve some fried chicken because from time to time they run out. They make good cocktails also. There's nothing not to love.

Visited due to the numerous positive reviews and great pics. In person, dishes looked tantalizing, presentation was good, but flavors just weren’t to my liking. The fried chicken was okay, the chicken sandwich was better, the macaroni I didn’t care for and the rolls that I was envisioning would be the real deal delectable Hawaiian roles, seemed steamed or microwaved or something. Not pleasant, texture was completely weird.

This place is a gem. The food is always delicious and the service is consistently attentive and helpful without being a overbearing. Whenever my Uncle comes to town he always wants to take us out to Ma'Ono!

We’ve had bad customer service in the past but decided to give Ma’Ono another chance. Sadly the customer service got worse and that probably was the last time we will go there. Our waiter kept rushing us to take our order and kept asking if we wanted another drink even though we weren’t even halfway through our beers, multiple times. The restaurant wasn’t busy so to me it didn’t make sense. I hope something changes for future Ma’Ono visitors.

The food was pretty good. Crispy fried chicken, without being oily. Appetizer was tasty, and so was the fried rice and bok choy. If you have a party of 4, which is not unusual, a bread order at $5.50 comes with only 3 to an order!? The banana cream pie was super yummy.
But, overall a lousy experience. The noise level is unbearable, and I mean stadium loud. Forget about having a conversation, you will be yelling across the table. The service, disappointing. Our main course came out before our entrees. We asked about the missed appetizer. Our server explained it was on it's way. When we asked why it was being served after the main course, he said "that's the way it's done here". That's a restaurant first--Call it an appetizer, but serve it after the entrée and sides have come out. Hmm....
The fact you can't hear your conversations made the whole experience a joke. Invest in some sound deadening material, because the food is good...albeit the service a little confused.
