My wife and I came to STL to celebrate our anniversary. Mango exceeded my expectations. They recognized us and the service excelled. Wife had the sautéed fish and had ceviche and plantains. Wow....
It was excellent Peruvian cuisine experience.
Jalea mixta appetizer was very good. The beef heart skewers were tough. Aji de Gallina was good, but a little on the bland side.
I’ve dined at Mango numerous times at this location and the prior location. Something was off this night. First though, the mussels were wonderful! We had a drink at the bar, Bartender was efficient but not welcoming. Server started enthusiastic then declined. A special was described as large then when we asked to split as an appetizer he said it was actually small, just larger than the regular. That’s fine, we had the mussels and they were great. Asked for his recommendation to have the mushroom dish with rice or pasta, he said he doesn’t eat that dish, but if we like pasta to get the pasta. Okay, thank you. The entree was served with rice. Oh, I thought we decided pasta based on your recommendation. Oh thought you said rice. He paused, I was waiting for him to offer to correct, which would have waited for, but he put the plate down and walked away. So rice it was! He did not return to the table to check in and when clearing the plates when we finished did not offer a box even though most of the entree was left uneaten. Again, usually have a great experience here just not a great experience this time.
The food & service is always outstanding at Mango Peruvian. My favorite Ceviche in town and I love the Paiche. I get it almost every time.
Incredibly delicious and we had excellent service. Lovely ambiance. We enjoyed our amazing salmon special and always favorite Aji de Gallina. We’ve been here before and our dining experience was even better than we remembered. They serve lunch and dinner. Eat here - it’s great!
Visiting St. Louis on a business trip for an overnight. Mango was recommended and it did not disappoint. The complimentary Peruvian green sauce and plantains were a great way to begin the meal (I ate too much). For the main course, I was skeptical about ordering fish in the middle of the country; however the salmon special was terrific, as was the mushroom dish. On my next visit I will certainly be back. Thanks for a wonderful meal.
Wonderful surprise. Sounded good when we made reservation and it was!!! Love the cilantro and Plantan chips to start the meal. Salmon dish and beef dish were both outstanding. Glad we finished with classic Peruvian dessert. We had great service, good wine, and great food. - all equalling a wonderful meal and evening. Worth a visit if you’re in St. Louis and want to try something new!
Delish! I highly recommend this restaurant!
Excellent food. Good ambience. I happened to choose this restaurant because it was very close to the hotel, and I loved it. Would recommend a friend who will visit St. Louis.
Our waitress Wendy was amazing. It was my spouse birthday and they made the night very special.
High ceilings are a plus and the food is fantastic. You must, of course, try the ceviche.
Was a delicious, & wonderful experience! Happy to have found this place!
This was suggested and so glad I took the suggestion. From the moment we walked in to the time we left. Service... food... ambience. Just right on. A little energetic in the noise but was overlooked as the food was what we came to enjoy. A good time.
Light spicy and fresh
Just perfect for a Sunday evening meal
Nice setting with reasonable options for sharing different Peruvian tastes and enjoying pre-theatre/concert/sports vibe. Wine corkage fee low too!
A great place to linger over dinner and not be rushed.
We had an early seating 5:30 on Saturday. We did not leave until 7:30 and that was because we had an 8:00 engagement. Definitely will go back.
Excellent food at a fair price
Ceviche was as good as what we’ve enjoyed in Chile. Highly recommend this gem!
Wonderful tastes! We had a lovely evening. We split the beef tenderloin dish. It was excellent and 1/2 portion was enough with appetizer and drinks.
We arrived earlier than our reservations and they still got us seated right away. Our server was really amazing from start to finish (younger slender blonde, can't remember name). She brought us several wine samples and worked with us through my wife's dietary restrictions. The food & service were top shelf. This is our 2nd trip and 2nd great experience at Mango, this is now our go-to when we are in St. Louis!
Food, cocktails and service were EXCELLENT! From the moment we entered the door, through dessert we felt welcomed and appreciated as guests. The only slight were the ridiculous TVs...in a restaurant of this type, TVs do NOt belong. The other item are the necessary cocktail blenders...they need to be in sound proof covers. With these simple adjustments, Mango would be PERFECT!
Great food, nicest staff, and beautiful atmosphere. We would definitely go back.
Cocktails and all dishes were excellent
We always enjoy Mango. Spicy and unusual, but always great quality. A feast for the eyes as well as the palate.
Banana Chips were fantastic. Drinks were good. We ordered special of the day main course which was Fish and was really delicious. Overall good experience.
Wonderful, quality, refreshing food. Service good and knowledgeable. High backed booths helped lower noise level. Which was energetic and festive not overpowering. Wanted to go back the next night. Excellent.
Overall excellent experience. Fined on appetizers and salads. Everything outstanding.
The staff were very rude. One waiter actually asked told us that we needed to hurry up because they had other reservations. Very unprofessional and not worth it when there are so many other places in wash ave.
Lovely and delicious. Great Pisco sour and terrific service. we had a selection of tapas and all were wonderful. My only complaint is the noise level. We asked for a quiet spot and were placed in a pretty loud spot, though there were empty tables across the hall (though perhaps in a section that was not open). Anyway, highly recommend but perhaps be clear and firm on the need to be seated where you can hear and be heard.
Wonderful waitress great time and food would go back if I lived here
The food was amazing and unique. Nice ambiance, and the service was top notch. I would definitely recommend.
Delicious food, excellent service.
Great food, a lot of menu choices
Love this place!! They make the best Pisco Sour I have found in the US. Finally now if only I could find a restaurant that does that in Atlanta where I live. Jealous!!
Best meal I had all year
The environment is quite inviting and lovely. The menu is contemporary Peruvian. It is a combination of unusual and usual ingredients without being weird. Our waitress was very helpful with describing the food and service was excellent.
Loma Saltado is the best!
Food and drinks were delicious! The steak (lomo saltado) was delicious! We are going to figure out how to make the plantain chips and dip at home. Very flavorful.
I would like to given us a five, but I felt that the hostess staff were a bit too aloof. Also, it was very frustrating to come in the day before for an early dining service and see only two tables being occupied but being told that we must have a reservation to dine before 6pm.
Attentive service, friendly waitress. Gave good suggestions. Food was very good, especially the causa and ceviche, as was the Pisco Sour!
